Mental Health and Wellbeing

schools and families are important social units  which anchor the heath and wellbeing of all individuals. schools have the prime responsibility to promote and optimise the physical, social and mental health of students.

PHYSICAL HEALTH

Every school with Digitalisation, globalisation, integration, innovation looks luminous with Introduction of smart classes, inclusion of smart boards, plethora of subject choices offered, variety of activities to pursue, choices in terms of experiences to broaden the horizon of a child via exchange programmes, certainly the list is endless on how schools are bringing multifariousness to cherish and encourage the spirit of a child

Our Hasti school is keeping the pace and building up on the school resources , be it in terms of the physical structures or encouraging the talent pool with respect to the teaching faculty,

its essential to repair, prepare and fortify the school infrastructure in all ways possible to ensure the future of the country, the citizens of tomorrow, the students get the best of facilities and opportunities to forge ahead.

Mental health: an important aspect.

Though a six-hour day at school has enough for the educational mental, physical, cognitive invigoration for a child, but our  Hasti school has plans exclusively  for the psychological and* emotional welfare for a child and adolescents.

The alarming rate of children’s mental health problem isn’t a masked certitude anymore. According to a recent study, three decades back, 1 in 10 high school students could be categorised having a mental health issue , *now the number is 1in 3*I.

Stress and depression are the most common phenomena plaguing youngsters.

The list proving this sentiment can keep adding more attributes, but the veracity of the mental health landscape pertaining to plans, provisions, policies and methodologies in any average school is at a dismal state and sadly there aren’t ample measures taken to curb this downward spiral of a child’s psyche. The magnitude of this problem can’t be ignored any more and the time has come to recognise the gargantuan status of this problem that is slowly creeping and corroding the confidence of a teen.

Ask Google for ‘Top 10 issues facing the youth today,” the answer ranges from the following: *Failure to succeed in education system, Issues related to body image, family problems, Substance abuse, Pressures of materialism, Negative stereotyping,

Pressure of 24 hour social networking tops the list.

Each child is different and so is his/her problem

Everyone can perceive that with the education being provided at most of school presently, a student can hardly scratch the surface of these problems. The obstacles are very personal and can vary in intensity and understanding of the child. Two children within the same school of the same class can anticipate their problems dealing with the same issue, in distinct manners and this, thus complicates the solution for them. The quandary (is not just about the ADHD and learning disabled students

. The challenges today lie with children battling cyber addiction, social media validation, celebrity Idolization, emotional turmoil and identity crisis.

It is said that in about 70% of adults having a psychological disorder, the symptoms begin to surface in their teenage years. Imagine the world of difference it would make for such children who get the required intervention at the right time in school to transform themselves into responsible and contributing adults for tomorrow.

According to the World Economic Forum Global survey, world’s most serious problems are Climate change/destruction of nature, Large scale conflict/war, Inequality, Religious conflicts, Government accountability and corruption.

It doesn’t take rocket science to understand that the core human values of empathy, understanding respect, honesty, courage, integrity, perseverance, and many more are needed to deal with these.

While a child can turn to the internet to understand a lesson in Maths, Sciences or languages, it’s near impossible to decode his/her personal feelings, emotions and thoughts. There is no such platform to give him an insight into the why’s and what’s of his own persona. Hence it is important to connect them with their own ‘thinking’ and ‘feeling ‘ part and ensure they are in sync.

While the result of a school depends on the academic score card of a child , its even so, more important for the society and nation to emphasise on the harmonious and holistic development of a child’s thoughts, feelings, morals, values, personality and character* considering this our Hasti school has decided to regularly assess the personality development of every child and like academic progress card,  personality assessment card to be issued to appraise parents about the thoughts, feelings, morals, values, personality and character*of their ward..

Our Hasti school’s education policy and curriculum are the primary agents to make a difference in the standard of the succeeding mankind. Our Hasti School believes that Let a child accept himself first  let a child acknowledge his worth first, let a child be aware of himself first ( for this variety of result oriented  activities at pre-primary section are organised and conducted ) and then let the process of transferring knowledge begin. Our Hasti school believes that the confidence and motivation that comes in from self-awareness can provide a student a strong platform to contribute in the betterment of the world in a more benefiting way.

While the risks may not be completely eliminated in children, due to time and resource constraints , but we have plans to assist our students by way of setting up

•           A guidance and counselling department with a qualified counsellor to monitor all the students in a school ensures the primary setup to aid the ones who need the most.

•           On an average 20 minutes a day should be devoted exclusively for emotional and mental introspection of a child (most importantly teens).

•           A well designed time table involving Yoga , Arts, S.U.P.W ,school  thinks that an Art  is the true expression of humans lovely creative power.  An art work is the reflection of artist’s temperament, *An art it is the product of  his physical and mental creative skill art is the way out to vent  the emotions and feelings. .

•           Periodic screening through simple yet robust psychometric tests to weed out students who need assistance.

•           SWAYAM (myself) classes for senior students to acknowledge and ascertain their own areas of weakness, emotional disturbances, improvement and management or self-regulation of emotions.

•           And most importantly workshops, talks, lectures and activities to address the common problems facing the youth today on a regular basis by exemplary speakers who can motivate and inspire youngsters to dwell within.

•           The role of the regular class and subject teachers cannot be collated in their potentiality to galvanize this process. They have an ability to revolutionize the day-to-day prosaic classroom proceedings into something more exhilarating and remunerative concerning the student’s psyche.

The dawn of a new tomorrow is going to usher in exigent demands of steadfastness and principled young minds. Our Hasti school is going to make sure  that  our children are prepared to take on the call with a firm grip over themselves first. The boons of honouring their own unique persona shall effortlessly pave way for them being a paragon.

Positive Mental Health= Success In Life

Children’s success in school and life is directly linked to their mental health. Some research findings indicate that children who receive mental health support do better in academics, are flexible and adaptive to change. The overall mental health determines learning. Problem in activities and behaviour can be addressed by providing mental health support.

Access to mental health services  is vital in improving the physical and psychological safety of students and schools. It is important to create a school culture that enables the student to report safety concerns. School mental health professionals provide support, identify and work with students over more intense or ongoing needs. As Aristotle rightly said “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom. “Let’s all say let it be so

IMPORTANCE OF READING

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDICHA

BLOG NO.234

Reading is important because it makes you more empathetic, and knowledgeable and stimulates your imagination.

Reading is always rewarding. It can make you a unique person, whether you are an orator, presenter, or creator. It can lead you to a world of imagination and a realm of opportunities. Reading is an exercise for the brain; it helps you to calm down your thoughts, opens doors to new knowledge, and improves your vocabulary and oratory skills.

Recognising the importance of reading Our Hasti school launched the projects;

1. DEAR ( DO EVERYTHING AWAR & READ )

2.HASTI VACASPATI Where in daily, before retiring to bed  there is family reading in which all family members  assemble in a room

any one member will read,  a paragraph or two or a page , loudly for 5 to 10 min.  and ALL other will listen* (next day next member will continue Where from  the earlier one has left. A book could be any story book, biography, science fiction , any age appropriate periodical, mythological stories  etc. VACHASPATI AWARD WILL BE GIVEN TO THE FAMILY FOR CONSISTANT READING.

Books play a quintessential role in every student’s life by introducing them to a world of imagination, providing knowledge of the outside world, improving their reading, writing and speaking skills as well as boosting memory and intelligence.

However we find that there are many children who are  not interested in reading  , I Still remember short story my teacher told me to generate interest in reading the story goes as under ;

Raymond didn’t want to learn how to read. So many letters stuck together seemed like an enormous bore to him.

He couldn’t understand why so many adults and other children enjoyed reading so much.

He kept an eye on the letters and couldn’t see anything of interest happening. He preferred hearing stories about monsters and horrible beasts.

One day, he went to Mr. Maskell’s Fancy Dress Shop. He loved that shop. Mr Maskell could create the most amazing monster outfits, and every year there were many new ones, even when it must have been really difficult to make each one*. That day the storeowner was reading, and this caught Raymond’s attention.

-“Why do you read so much, when books say nothing interesting?”

-“What do you mean?”

answered Mr. Maskell.

-“*It’s obvious, they say nothing about monsters or beasts”,

added Raymond*.

-“I can’t believe it!”

exclaimed Mr. Maskell, surprised.

“I still haven’t told you my secret?”

Then he showed Raymond the book he was reading.

-“What do you see here?”

*Reluctantly, and with some difficulty, Raymond started reading it.

-“No, no! Not like that. You have to see all of it. If you want to get it, you have to step back a bit, and even maybe turn your head a bit. Do you now see anything different*?”

Right that second Raymond saw it: The lines and letters of the page formed a big picture which reminded him of a dinosaur! An enormous smile spread right across Raymond’s face. He started turning the pages, and discovered many other creatures traced out by the length of the lines. They were on the right, on the left, everywhere…

-“Well, now you know how I can invent so many monsters”,

said Mr. Maskell, winking.

-“All you have to do is read that page and then look at the shape of the lines to find which kind of monster is hiding there. Did you know that everything has something special about it? You just have to know how to find it.”

Raymond left, excited by his new discovery. From then on, it was unusual to see him without a book in his hands, looking for whatever the page was hiding, and hardly realising that he was learning thousands of new things as he did so.

It is  established after research that *Early reading encouragement leads to improved comprehension and cognitive skills in children. While learning to speak is innate, a newborn who is exposed to language on any given day will learn to speak and respond. While mastering reading requires instruction, researchers have proven that reading engages numerous parts of the brain, including visual processing, language comprehension, and responding.

In support of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the National Reading Panel stated that reading implies five fundamental components: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.

Here are some suggestions for improving and fostering a reading habit:

•           Magic 20: Invest at least 20 minutes per day in reading with your children and you’ll read 1,800,000 words each year, which is a significant milestone in vocabulary development.

•           Read for pleasure! Allow your students to choose their favorite book and find a reading nook where they can read without distraction. It perpetually promotes reading as a beloved pastime.

•           Reading aloud is always beneficial! Reading aloud enhances listening skills; reading-related discussions may construct meanings, connect ideas and experiences across texts, and improve comprehension, which is a great way for students to use prior knowledge and reach unfamiliar words from the text. Plan a reading-along session once a week to motivate listeners to develop into active readers.

•           Reading responses and literature circles: Reading response and literature circle books allow readers to interpret and acquire more insight and comprehension by planning a variety of activities such as illustration, depiction, word hunts, creating connections, and so forth.

•           Our Hasti school organises the weekly and monthly display of titles of  books of the interest of children( class wise. )

•           Our Hasti school teachers ask children to write and read in class room  the review of book/periodical /news paper they did  read during the week.

I am sure that Readers will motivate their wards to read books because as you know

•           Books make students intelligent.

•           Books improve memory.

•           Books relieve the stress of students.

•           Books improve your writing skills.

•           Books introduce us to things and perspectives.

•           Books help in self-improvement.

METACOGNITION THE KEY TO EFFECTIVE LEARNING

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDAICHA

BLOG NO.234

Do your students /your ward  spend a lot of time studying but feel like their  hard work doesn’t help their performance on exams? They may not realize  that their study techniques, which might have worked in earlier phase namely primary , middle school high school, don’t necessarily translate to how they are  expected to learn in  next phase .Teachers and  students therefore need to analyse  the technique  & how to analyse  that  Hasti school will tell you

Our Hasti school  therefore introduce you to the idea of “metacognition,” which  will further tell you why metacognition helps students  learn better, and introduce some strategies for incorporating metacognition into your studying.

Metacognition is thinking about how you think and learn.

The key to metacognition is asking yourself self-reflective questions, which are powerful because they allow us to take inventory of where we currently are , (thinking about what we already know), how we learn (what is working and what is not), and where we want to be (accurately gauging if we’ve mastered the material). Metacognition helps you to be a self-aware problem solver and take control of your learning.

Questions for Metacognitive Reflection

Asking self-reflective questions is key to metacognition. Take the time to be introspective and honest with yourself about your comprehension. Below are some suggestions for metacognitive questions you can ask yourself.

Metacognition is supported by asking essential questions before, during, and after studying. These questions help guide decision-making and enhance learning outcomes. Consider the following inquiries:

Before Learning

•           What am I supposed to learn?

•           What strategies should I use?

•           How much time do I have?

During Learning

•           How am I doing?

•           Am I on track with my plan?

•           Do I understand the material?

•           Should I adjust my pace?

After Learning

•           What did I learn?

•           Did I achieve my goals?

•           What could I have done differently?

•           Is there anything I still don’t understand?

*

While answering these questions may take time, they provide an opportunity to adapt learning approaches and improve overall performance when faced with challenges.

•           Does this answer make sense given the information provided?

•           What strategy did I use to solve this problem that was helpful?

•           How does this information conflict with my prior understanding?

•           How does this information relate to what we learned last week?

•           What questions will I ask myself next time I’m working these types of problems?

•           What is confusing about this topic?

•           What are the relationships between these two concepts?

•           What conclusions can I make?

Try brainstorming some of your own questions as well.

Use writing

Writing can help you organize your thoughts and assess what you know. Just like thinking aloud, writing can help you identify what you do and don’t know, and how you are thinking about the concepts that you’re learning. Write out what you know and what questions you have about the learning objectives for each topic you are learning.

Organize your thoughts

Using concept maps or graphic organizers is another great way to visualize material and see the connections between the various concepts you are learning. Creating your concept map from memory is also a great study strategy because it is a form of self-testing.

Take notes from memory

Many students take notes as they are reading. Often this can turn notetaking into a passive activity, since it can be easy to fall into just copying directly from the book without thinking about the material and putting your notes in your own words. Instead, try reading short sections at a time and pausing periodically to summarize what you read from memory. This technique ensures that you are actively engaging with the material as you are reading and taking notes, and it helps you better gauge how much you’re actually remembering from what you read; it also engages your recall, which makes it more likely you’ll be able to remember and understand the material when you’re done.

Review your exams

Reviewing an exam that you’ve recently taken is a great time to use metacognition. Look at what you knew and what you missed. Try using this handout to analyze your preparation for the exam and track the items you missed, along with the reasons that you missed them. Then take the time to fill in the areas you still have gaps and make a plan for how you might change your preparation next time.

Take a timeout

When you’re learning, it’s important to periodically take a time out to make sure you’re engaging in metacognitive strategies. We often can get so absorbed in “doing” that we don’t always think about the why behind what we are doing. For example, if you are working through a math problem, it’s helpful to pause as you go and think about why you are doing each step, and how you knew that it followed from the previous step. Throughout the semester, you should continue to take timeouts before, during or after assignments to see how what you’re doing relates to the course as a whole and to the learning objectives that your professor has set.

Test yourself

You don’t want your exam to be the first time you accurately assess how well you know the material. Self-testing should be an integral part of your study sessions so that have a clear understanding of what you do and don’t know. Many of the methods described are about self-testing (e.g., thinking aloud, using writing, taking notes from memory) because they help you discern what you do and don’t actually know. Other common methods include practice tests and flash cards—anything that asks you to summon your knowledge and check if it’s correct.

Figure out how you learn

It is important to figure out what learning strategies work best for you. It will probably vary depending on what type of material you are trying to learn (e.g. chemistry vs. history), but it will be helpful to be open to trying new things and paying attention to what is effective for you. If flash cards never help you, stop using them and try something else instead. Making an appointment with an academic coach at the Learning Center is a great chance to reflect on what you have been doing and figuring out what works best for you.

Metacognition goes beyond basic cognitive strategies and encourages students to delve deeper into their learning process.

While cognitive strategies involve recalling, analyzing, interpreting, and applying information, *metacognition helps identify which specific cognitive strategies are necessary for effective learning. It also prompts learners to reflect on their current strategies and consider alternative approaches to improve their understanding.

The metacognition process can be broken down into three stages: plan, monitor, and evaluate.

1.         Plan The planning stage involves developing a comprehensive approach to learning a particular topic. This includes determining what information needs to be learned, understanding existing knowledge, selecting effective learning strategies, and formulating a learning plan. By establishing a clear plan, students set the foundation for successful learning.

2.         Monitor During the learning process, it is crucial to continuously monitor comprehension and progress. This can be achieved through various actions, such as taking practice tests, engaging in self-assessment, or seeking feedback from teachers or peers. Monitoring allows learners to gauge their understanding, identify areas of weakness, and adjust their learning strategies if necessary.

3.         Evaluate Once the learning process is complete, it is essential to evaluate the results and reflect on the overall experience. Learners should assess whether their learning goals were achieved, what they have gained from the process, and what could have been done differently. This critical evaluation enables individuals to learn from their experiences and make more informed choices in future learning endeavours.

‘There is a strong body of research from psychology and education demonstrating the importance of metacognition and self-regulation to effective pupil learning.

Broadly speaking – it works. Together with cognition and motivation, metacognition is key to being a self-regulated and independent learner, who is actively engaged in their own learning experiences.

As always, we’d love to know your thoughts on this, please feel free  to share and post  your thoughts, commendation ,remarks, & suggestions*.

my idea of school in 2050*

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDAICHA

BLOG NO.233

*

In the future, schools will be much different than they are now and today. Schools will be more interactive and engaging with the students. They will also be more technology-based. The way that students learn will change as well. In the future, students will learn through Virtual Reality.

First, we had blackboards and chalk. Then whiteboards and dry-wipe pens. Overhead projectors and acetate. Now we have interactive whiteboards. So, what could the school of the future look like ?

Undoubtedly, the biggest development we’ve seen in recent years has been advances in technology, so our Hasti school, one of the best school in whole of Khandesh region  is fairly certain that it will continue to play a significant role in the future.

It’s unlikely this, present , tried-and-tested model will change drastically over the next 25 or so years, but rather it will adapt to our evolving world.

In 2050, net-zero deadlines will be upon us, and green technology will be comfortably embedded into the classrooms. Recycling will be second nature and there will be no single-use plastics anywhere in school

Technology-driven leaps forward in education will be gradual and practical. There will be shift from online learning platforms to more personalised learning experiences alongside the incorporation of virtual and augmented reality, one may see a shift towards a more interactive method of learning

There might be greater emphasis on collaboration and problem-solving, rather than traditional lecture-based, note-taking teaching methods.

Find hereunder a few ways that the school of future may look different.

The classroom environment

On entering the classroom, biometric scanning will allow students to check in, streamlining the hustle-and-bustle of registration. Teachers will be able to collate attendance data automatically, populate perfect attendance records and more easily track patterns of tardiness.

For the school of the future, there will be no need to wrestle with heavy curtains or dust-covered blinds; but ’ll have *smart glass. Windows that can automatically adjust their tint to compensate for external brightness, protecting both our eyes and screens.

*As summer temperatures continue to rise – the general trend for 2050 being warmer, drier summers as well as warmer, wetter winters – air-conditioned classrooms will become the norm. But they will be cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable, with built-in air purifiers to remove toxins and dust from the ai*r.

By 2050, 3D printers will have become a standard appliance, both in the home and at school. As a learning aid, they will have become essential, allowing teachers more flexibility to explain difficult concepts.

Students will be able to physically manipulate objects for better information processing, visual perception, and cognitive learning.

Chairs and desks aligned properly and facing the blackboard will be a thing of the past. There will be room for more flexibility so that students can discuss in the group as per the tasks assigned. This will also add up to the comfort of the student.

2. *Student will be given the freedom to decide on the learning style*Talking about the current scenario, students are given assignments and tasks based on the chapter taught and each one has to complete the same within the stipulated time.

Future of the classroom holds multiple learning styles for students. Students will be given the freedom to learn things in the way they want. This includes learning through video lectures, noting down points or any such alternative. This practice will help students learn faster.

3. Online learning options will gain impetus In a fast paced life,  there will be no age barrier for learning courses of your interest. This also means you can subscribe to some of the best learning tutorials online and learn all that you wish to.

4. Technology will change the face of education system

Decades later, you won’t find books in student’s bag. Instead, you will surely find a laptop or a tablet. With technology advancement, noting down important stuff, watch an online tutorial and giving assessment tests will be just a click away. This will give way to a creative learning practice and help students take down digital notes within seconds.

5. Each class will have a website or an online group of its own

All the important messages and announcement will be broadcast in the groups which can be accessed online. This will reduce dependency. Moreover, if you happen to miss out any lecture in the classroom, you might be able to catch it later using the digital version of classes.

Augmented reality and AI

Adaptive learning systems driven by artificial Intelligence (AI) will become integrated into the school environment by 2050. Personalised learning experiences will take into account learning styles and create adaptive assessments that adjust in real-time based on performance.

Students will be able to get immediate feedback, with suggested areas for improvement and more personalised tutoring, tailoring to a student’s strengths and weaknesses. This isn’t a new concept, Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) have been proposed for decades, but AI will make it considerably easier.

The move towards more immersive and interactive learning experiences will also be facilitated by the application of augmented reality and advances in AI

Interactive whiteboards will be kitted out with augmented reality – where virtual objects are superimposed onto the real world – which will be particularly useful for STEM subjects, allowing students to digitally dissect the human brain, analyse chemical compounds in the clouds of Jupiter, or make size comparisons of dinosaurs.

Internet, accessibility and remote learning

it’s possible that classrooms will be shared virtually with external pupils, providing learning to home students and allowing for larger class sizes. And with more pupils, teachers will  rely on AI automation of certain aspects

So it’s very unlikely that the internet itself will disappear by 2050. But it will change. *We’re already seeing hard drive storage replaced by virtual clouds; in-progress documents accessible from multiple devices and from any location, and it’s likely this trend towards greater connectivity will continue

The use of Internet  will be widespread, with more devices and appliances connected to the internet, enabling greater automation and control over the school environment.

With a few exceptions, homework assignments will mostly be online. From downloading the assignment at the end of the lesson, to submitting it remotely (as many do now), students will be able to view their coursework, see the percentage completed, and track overall assessments.

*Instant notifications will alert pupils to deadline extensions, feedback, and grades. Parents and teachers will be able to track progress, addressing issues as and when they arise.

Learning in the metaverse

And of course, with the internet comes social media. And by 2050, the Metaverse – a shared immersive virtual space, where one  can be free of our bodies, inhabiting one’s  own digital avatars ¬. As more personal information is shared online, and one spends more time in the Metaverse, there will be a greater emphasis on protecting a user’s security and privacy. We may even see cyber security modules being incorporated into some subjects.

Literature

AR books will be common, but just as Kindle and e-books have exploded in popularity over the last decade or so, access to reading material will become easier. Gone will be the days of lugging heavy textbooks around, hastily cramming them into lockers after lessons.

Students of the future can look forward to having recommended reading materials right at their fingertips, via e-readers and tablet devices which can be digitally annotated, or manipulated via VR. Subsequently, reliance on paper products will be reduced, although not eliminated completely. Artists have been using paper for thousands of years, so it’s unlikely we’ll ever see its complete disappearance, especially in art and design subjects. The paper we do use, however, will be eco-friendly; either recycled, or made from fast-growing plants like bamboo.

Social media will gain importance as it will bring all the students on the same platform where all the information will be shared and discussions will be conducted. Digital bulletin boards will not let you miss out all the important information.

As always, we’d love to know your thoughts on this, please feel free  to share and post  your thoughts, commendation ,remarks, & suggestions.

IMPORTANCE OF PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILL FOR CHILDREN

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDAICHA

BLOG NO.231

In the 21st century, public speaking skills are more important than ever. With the rise of social media and the 24-hour news cycle, the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively is a valuable asset in both our personal and professional lives.

Public speaking is the method by which an individual can connect with a wide range of people and make an impact on the people in the audience. Speaking in public can be a great asset. It allows the speaker to be more expressive and to engage with others. It is a crucial component which must be embraced to make the process of communication at any level efficient and efficient.

We believe that Speaking skills is something that should be developed as early as possible. It is not just a way to increase confidence and self-esteem in children, but also assists them in learning to build relationships with other people. It allows one to take action for what is right and also against bullies. When speaking out with confidence, if not elegant manner, one can be recognized and a whole new set of opportunities opens on them. It is a huge help to enhancing leadership skills and making it easier to succeed on the field of professional.

1.The majority of children are shy in their own way and are often reluctant to taking part in classes because they are afraid of being ridiculed or dismissed. They are hesitant to interact with their teachers in class or responding verbally to the question even though they know the answer, because they aren’t sure how to express it in words. Through focusing on fostering the ability to speak at a public speaking platform and helping people to eliminate nervous twitching and wobbly legs.

It assists children to be successful in their academic pursuits. Students will be required to present an oral presentation at one point or another. When they learn public speaking kids can deliver their presentation confidently and with clarity.

It helps them become attentive listeners too since public speaking is all about communication, which is a dual process. The child will learn the importance of paying attention to what other people are saying from an early age and this assists them in learning to develop other skills such like debating, socializing, talking, etc.

A lot of children, while doing extremely excellent in their academics or in the classroom, struggle to stay in their career due to their inability to communicate their ideas or stand out at crucial points. When you let your children learn public speaking will help them to be successful in their career and a happy life.

PARENTS ROLE IN DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC SPEAKING SKILL

As a parent, you play an important part to play in helping your children develop their talents. Speaking in public is yet another skill you should teach your child.

Here’s how to get it done:

The mere mention of public speaking can cause a negative reaction from people and can be a problem with children either. Before you do anything, make an effort to teach your child the positive qualities of public speaking. Engage them in a way that they feel the art of talking attractive, like giving them the opportunity to talk about their favourite toy, book or food at the family dinner. Don’t force them to act aggressively.

Read and read loudly. Encourage them to participate in storytelling via oral. Take part in their adventures. When you do this, you’re not just sowning the seeds of creativity, but also encouraging them to be themselves

.

The ability to sing is crucial. Speeches are effective when its message is delivered clearly and in a clairvoyant way. To assist them in this area, you can seek the advantage of an online tutorial that will help you improve your the quality of voice by doing exercises.

Learn about the art of manipulating voices This is a crucial ability to master to be a great orator. You can accomplish this by reading a text at a different speed or limiting the character’s role when telling an story. Modulation and intonation in the voice must be used by every speaker because they are the only way that attention is able to be maintained during speeches.

Learn about body speech, hand gestures and eye contact. These three elements along with the content and the quality of speech are essential in delivering the right speech. You should not be able to avoid learning on them. Start by teaching them techniques such like identifying blind spots in the crowd, making use of their hands and so on while performing in front of the crowd. When they have gotten into the habit of speaking to large numbers of people they will be able to master the above manner of conduct within a matter of minutes with your guidance.

Provide them with fun activities to do that aid in developing their public speaking abilities. Choose interesting topics to discuss at discussion at a symposium, or engage them in debate; Appeal  them to speak their thoughts on specific adult subjects, such as education as well as the importance of healthy and proper nutrition*. When you do this, you’re giving your children confidence and, consequently will fuel their enthusiasm to develop their skills.

Encourage them to study various books that deal with different subjects. This will help them learn about a vast array of subjects and broaden their vocabulary. * Furthermore aiding the students greatly in creating quality content*.

Always appreciate & be grateful for their efforts which will encourage them to share their ideas with others and have the voices of their creators heard by others. Public speaking skills can be used as an effective cheat tool to progress in life. Once you have mastered it, kids acquire the capability to tackle any challenging situation using the power of their words.

We at Hasti Public school  motivate every child to take active participation in various activities which directly or indirectly help them build their public speaking skills.

HOW MAKE YOUR  BELOVED JUVINILE TO USE  DIGITAL DEVICES SPARINGLY

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDAICHA

BLOG NO.230

The technology in our world has advanced tremendously in the areas of science, engineering, and medicine.

We have been able to discover new things about our world by way of new tools and machinery.  But, with the good, comes the bad. *The wave of “smart” electronics has started to make its impression on our mental health as well as our youth.

According to the RECENT RESEARCH , children spend an average of seven and a half hours every day on digital devices. Not only does this mean that our kids are becoming more inactive physically, but they are also damaging their mental well-being and resiliency muscles. Without resilience, children can struggle when dealing with failures, relationships, and health conditions, physical as well as mental.

What happens when a child is glued to their electronics?

Here are just a few reasons to have your child (as well as yourself) take a time-out from technology:

1.       Brain development can be altered.  A child’s brain continues to develop up to 25 years of age

Stimulation caused by overexposure to technologies (cell phones, internet, iPads, TV, etc.) has been associated with attention deficit, rational delays, impaired learning, increased impulsivity, and decreased ability to self-regulate.

2.       No physical activity equals less mental activity. When we are constantly watching a screen, not only is our body not moving, but our mind is not exercising either. Aside for physical stamina, CHILDREN  also gain many social skills from playing and running around with their friends such as compromise, sharing, and resolving conflict.

Sitting and staring at digital media can contribute to decreased concentration and memory due to frontal cortex damage.

3.       Independence is becoming a lost art.  if our child forgets to bring their books or homework to school, they can quickly dial or text their parents who are all too quick to run to their child’s aid. In this instance, bringing the homework teaches the child that they can rely on their parents to get them out of a jam. Instead, we need to let our children fail every now and again so they pick up skills for themselves and learn from their mistakes.

4.       Relationships become more detached. The more connected we are to our devices, the less time we spend with our loved ones. When it comes to a parent child relationship, parents need to be careful how much time they spend with technology. When a parental attachment is lacking, often times the child will resort to attaching to technology. This addiction can be dangerous if the digital content is violent as the child may act out these virtual scenarios.

5.       A time alone to your thoughts is healthy! A prominent component to flexing your resiliency muscle is to have time for you and you alone. Being able to reflect on the day or an event lets you sort out what went right, what went wrong, and how can you improve.

It is important to pay attention to how much time we spend in front of screens and how this in turn can affect our youth and those around us. Many of us spend our downtime mindlessly flipping through Facebook, checking our text messages, or scanning Pinterest. *Make your mental health a priority by using technology sparingly and keeping digital damage at bay.

The Digi century is seemingly delved into a fast forward life. Work pressure has simultaneously increased with the growing technologies aiming towards optimum utilization of available minimal resources. Social gatherings have transited to online platforms and we hardly communicate face to face now. This has also massively affected children’s behavior. They are reluctant to talk to people and addicted to smart devices. The traditional way of socialization has vanished and fashioned into a new trend of virtual socialization.

The present generation observe much, listen less and experiment more. They tend to do more than they are asked to do. They like exploring things on their own. They *like to imitate things. No matter how small their age, they still wonder why can’t they do all things what their parents and all elders generall*y do. Their demands increase day by day and parents literally oblige to it. They detest being controlled by anyone on earth.

Seeking appreciation for every little thing is common. They are scholars in seeking attention, all dramatic style is acted on to pacify parents to get the things done for them. Do you agree with me?

Parents have to put up with everything to make their little life comfortable. While taking into consideration above things it’s important to know appropriate usage of internet and digital devices.

We are well aware of cyberbullying and other proposed threats of the internet. What are we doing about protecting our kids from such risky threats?

Here are 6 good habits to help you find your kid’s safe online:

1.         First learn then teach: Children always look up to us and imitate. So we need to be extra vigilant in all our actions. Parents need to project positive things especially while being in the presence of children. Don’t give any reason to point fingers at you later. If you yourself are in the wrong direction how can you guide your children?

2.         Encourage to talk freely: Establish a friendly relationship with your children. This closeness gives them freedom to share everything with you without any hesitation. It will be easy for you to keep track of every child’s online activity and be assured of threat-free internet usage.

3.         Keep under your vigilance: Always make sure your child sits under your sight while using the internet so that you can keep a close watch on your child’s access to the internet. Attend your child’s queries. This will encourage you to approach every issue the child encounters.

4.         Practice parental controls: Equip yourself with the complete knowledge of Internet safety tools and measures. Especially learn about kid’s online safety through government sites and other sites dedicated to educate on Internet safety and cyber threats. There are OTT platforms featuring parental control. Know about their appropriate usage and track your child’s program usage. Advise them to watch age-related programs only.

5.         Keep safe important documents: Avoid giving your personal mobiles and other smart devices to children. Either keep a separate smart device for kid’s entertainment or education use or keep away from child’s reach. There is a possibility that out of curiosity children might go to places and open important documents which cannot be afforded to be lost or brought into public view. Blunders are bound to happen yet double security must be ensured. Passwords and pins should be locked. Social media settings also need to be secured and kept private. Children who are tech-savvy might go a step forward in exploring, in such cases teach your child what can be shared in public and what needs to be private, what pictures can be uploaded and to be cautious while using the internet

.

6.         Keep track of frequency of usage: According to studies it’s advisable for children to be in front of smart screens for longer hours . Also be mindful of imposing too many restrictions which may lead to stubbornness and aggressiveness and enable kids to keep secrets.

Encourage your child to opt more outdoor activities. This will help develop good exercise habits, boost immunity and promote good health.

“Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” – John F. Kennedy

Let’s cultivate a healthy environment for our kids as they bloom into wonderful beings on this planet. A stitch in time saves nine. Refining digital usage is essential. Inspire them through your exemplary actions to be responsible kids. Teach early than later regret.

*IMPORTANCE OF TIME MANAGMNT FOR STUDENTS

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDAICHA

BLOG NO.229

Time management is the course of marshalling everyday routine to harness the maximum time available.

It is up to one to utilize it whatever way one wants. One may waste it on insignificant things or use it productively; the decision is theirs. However, if one wants to get the maximum out of their time, one has to esteem time management.

Students should make a priority-based schedule regarding their studies and assignments.

Time to different subjects must be allotted based on the individual difficulties faced by the students in that particular subject.

Everyone has the same time in a day, i.e. 24 hours every day at our disposal, yet some succeed while some don’t. That is because those who succeed have learned the trick of utilizing their time to the utmost. This is a skill, often referred to as time management among the students.

Time management isn’t specifically for students only, but anyone from any walk of life can learn time management to achieve success. It is as good for professionals as it is for students.

Below given are some of the time management techniques to make the maximum of your time  One must avoid wasting time on useless activities like watching TV, movies, etc.

The time thus saved can instead be utilized for reading or sports/games.

Persistence and discipline is the key to achieve success through time management. To productively utilize time, one must not compromise their sleeping time.

Managing time effectively helps students in balancing their academic life, hobbies and personal life. When students manage their time effectively, they are able to get more tasks done in a day. Poor time management leads to procrastination which eventually leads to last-minute panic. When students have a proper schedule, they are able to dedicate time for studies and leisure.

10 WAYS TO IMPROVE THE TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS FOR STUDENTS

As a leading leading school in the vicinity,  here we share some of the time management tips for students:

1.         Prioritise Task*

Prioritising tasks in advance according to their urgency level makes it easy for the students. This gives clarity in their mind about the efforts they need to put in*. This saves a lot of time which they can utilise in different important tasks.

2.         Break the Big Task

This method can be used in many problems. **Always divide the task into smaller sub-tasks and then start completing them one by one. This boosts confidence and helps in finishing it on time.

3.         Checklist

It is a list of all the tasks that need to be completed. The checklist gives an overall idea about the tasks already completed and the left ones. This helps in dedicating the time limit to each task so that the entire work is finished within the time limit.

4.         Create Rewards

Students should reward themselves after completion of each sub task to build confidence. This also lightens the mood and brings productivity in the upcoming tasks.

5.         Set a Schedule

Having a schedule in place helps to do what task and by what time it should be completed. Schedule can be for a single day or for the entire week. This helps students to develop a farsighted approach.

6.         Set Realistic Goals

Setting unrealistic goals sometimes stresses the student when they are not fulfilled. Be clear with your capabilities and assign the work accordingly. This will save the students from self-imposed burdens.

7.         Start Early

Starting early gives you an edge over others. Whether it is waking up early or starting any work before anyone else gives extra time which can be utilised in other activities.

8.         Eliminate Distractions

Removing distractions from a student’s life helps them to focus more on their academics and other activities. In this digital era, students are spending a good amount of time in front of digital screens. This not only distracts them from their goals but also bad for their health. Students can use apps that help monitor and limit time spent in front of screens.

9.         One Task at a Time

Always do one task at a time. This helps in putting the entire focus and energy on one task. This helps in saving time and completing the task before the deadline.

10.       Take a Break in Between the Tasks

Taking small breaks helps avoid burnout and helps students return to their work rejuvenated. Students can listen to music, take a nap or chat with a friend.

We, at Hasti Public school ,Dondaicha , a leading  school in the region* encourage our students to  manage their time well by offering them a good mix of academics and co-curricular activities.  The time-table at our school is designed in such a way that students find time to pursue their hobbies and learn things outside the classroom.

This may help in  orientation , on the topic, to parents and students as well

Efforts WILL BE  made to give such youth the height of life they desire through this Hasti  school.

Books and studies are also arranged for such youths, so that after being successful with social rites, they can improve the lives of helpless youths like their own circumstances

Hasti public school believes that *Academic knowledge is useless without recognizing moral values

. To change the frightening picture of the society in the present times, only the youth will have to come forward. In today’s changed environment, at some places  there are stories of atrocities on biological parents. Apart from this, the incidents of insult of women, theft, looting, exploitation, intoxication, corruption are confusing the coming generation.

In such a situation, it becomes our responsibility to teach the lesson of morality to our wandering generation, so that they can get values.

If there are good manners then the difference between good and bad can also be known.

 Financial Literacy

Do you know  about Our Bharat Desh ???

– Never confiscated private property.  China in 1940 and Russia in 1918 confiscated and stock market lost 100% value.

– Never defaulted on sovereign debt. Even at the time of independence when we were a very poor country our sovereign debt was at 4% yield!

– Never had hyper inflation. The high inflation period was 1970s when it touched 18%. Incidentally gold delivered best returns during this period and tax rates were very high. Gave birth to movies with villains indulging in gold smuggling and birth of ‘angry young man’!

– Since 1996 consistently remained in top 5 country in GDP growth!

– The median Indian companies in top 100 companies generated ROE of  around 16%. 30% of this is given away as dividend and companies compounded 11% per annum. The number for USA is 14% ROE and 8% companies growth! In China the ROE is around 10%. ( Return On Equity is the ratio between the net income and the total amount of shareholder’s Equity. A higher ROE will indicate that the company is efficient at generating profits through equity financing.

– Warren Buffett inspite of his all-round prowess( GREAT SKILL OF DOING) has underperformed the worst equity funds in last 20 years.

– India is one the best country to invest in.  Equity MF is one of the best option. However stay mindful of intermittent volatility and draw downs!

– Role of advisors is not to generate returns but stops you from taking money out in downturn and convert temporary loss into permanent loss. It’s like fitness coach. He does not sweet but you do. But he makes you sweet when you are trying to avoid or lazing around!

THIS WAY OUR CHILDREN WILL KEEP ON GAINING EXTRA BUT VITAL KNOWLEDGE IN SUBJECTS OTHER THAN ACADEICS

SUNDAY PATHSHALA WILL HAVE LEARNING WITH FUN( AS NO EXAM.IS FUN AND *SOME OF THE ACTIVITIES COULD BE MASTERED OR LEARNED THROGH PLAY WAY OR FUN WAY APPROACH.

WHY IS PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT (P.D.) IMPORTANT TO A STUDENT’S LIFE

BLOG NO.226

A school is considered as the second home of a child. It is rightly said that the personality of children depends on the way parents deal with them. But this is the half-truth. The personality of a child also depends on his/her involvement in school activities. School is not only meant for imparting education, but it is responsible to shape the personality and character of a students.

Each of us is unique because of the personality qualities that make us distinctive. Each person can achieve their full potential with the proper development of their personality, including mental state and physical condition.

Development of communication skills is one of the most important aspects of personality development. A person with good communication skills can easily convey his message to others. The process of development of communication skills should start right from the childhood days. The way teachers and students communicate with each other plays a key role in developing communication skills.

3. Gives Edge In Competition

Only hard work and talent is not sufficient to be successful in this highly competitive world. Good personality matters a lot. Most of the companies have two levels of the job selection process, one is a written exam and another is an interview.
