*You have the TIME. Do you have the ENERGY?
Mind management is the process of controlling the thoughts and filtering anything that comes into our mind. It is the art of managing everything with an attentive mind and making the most of every situation.
As said by Lord Krishna, “ Your mind, if controlled, can be your best friend and if left uncontrolled can become your worst enemy. You should control your mind to push yourself towards success and not degrade yourself to anything other than that.
Mind management skills can transform your way of living and thought process. Mind management is an art that needs rigorous dedication and practice. It is controlling one’s mind. The art of being able to control, manage, and implement our mind is called mind management.
In today’s time, stress and anxiety have taken over our regular living. Not a second goes by when our mind remains free of thoughts. Every time there is one or another thought doing rounds in our head. Our stressful lives, 9 to 5 desk jobs, family, social life, and whatnot have conquered our heads.
In times like these, management has become very crucial. Humans have somehow forgotten their essence of living in the race of attaining something beyond themselves. Our whole life is the game of our mind. If we keep the charge of our mind, it can become our best friend.
I remember a short story
Once there was a painter who had the pride that he makes the most beautiful paintings in the entire world. He visited the king of a region to tell him that he can paint a wall of his kingdom gorgeously and that no one can paint anything like that ever. The king was impressed with his confidence and allotted him a wall to showcase his designs.
At the same time, one of the king’s ministers said that even he can create a painting as beautiful as the painting of the painter. Everyone was astonished. The king decided to allot the minister the wall opposite to the painter to showcase his creativity.
The next day, both of them started working on their walls with full enthusiasm. The walls were divided with curtains, and they could not see each other’s work. Days went by, and they kept working on their art.
Finally, the day of the result came out. The painter presented his painting, and the curtains were now raised. However, everyone was stunned to see the same painting on the minister’s wall. The king asked the minister how he made the exact same painting.
To this, he replied, “I just kept on cleaning the marble wall until it started shining like a mirror. The painting that you see on my wall is the reflection of the beautiful painting on the opposite wall.”
Everyone was impressed by the wisdom and thought of the minister, and both of them were rewarded.
It is exactly how our mind works! The more we cleanse and clear it, the brighter it shines. If we keep our minds clean and bright, it will reflect the beauty of everything that comes our way.
You’ve done everything you can to save time. Every productivity tip, every “life hack,” every time management technique. But the more time you save, the less time you have. The more overwhelmed, stressed, exhausted you feel.
Here are top 3 eye opening statistics on time management and productivity:
· 88% of working people procrastinate daily. …
· The average worker spends 51% of every workday on low to no-value tasks.
· Only 20% of people feel their work is under control daily.
To be more productive I think mind management has edge over the time Management.
Recently I came across a book *Mind Management not time management by David Cadavy*. I was impressed. Few take away from book ;
Perspective shift-Being productive today isn’t about time management, it’s about mind management. Time management optimizes the resource of time. Mind management optimizes the resource of creative energy(.
First Hour Rule- Spend the first hour of your day working on your most important project.
Start of day-If you start your day working on the most important thing, there’s less of a chance for other things to get in the way.
* Creative tasks Versus analytical task*-Sometimes your mind is better-suited to think creatively. Sometimes your mind is better-suited to think analytically. Complete the work which requires creativity when mind is better-suited to think creatively. Complete the work which requires analysis when mind is better-suited for the same.
Sleep-A one-hour increase in average daily sleep raises productivity by more than a one-year increase in education.
Energy leakage-When you randomly switch from one activity to another, your energy leaks…If you’re doing that all the time, little of your energy is going toward traction which is important for task completion
Noise-Noise level can also affect your ability to think creatively…studies suggest that a background noise level of about seventy decibels is optimal for idea generation.
State of mind-Things are not difficult to make; what is difficult is putting ourselves in the state of mind to make them hence put mind into state of completing task.
We teachers are so fogged by the daily grind of planning and preparing that they often forget to focus on their mental health. However, a teacher is an indispensable resource in our education system and so is a teacher’s mental health.
Our Hasti school by way of various activities ( co-curricular and extracurricular provides opportunities for we teachers to be less busy and relax a bit . this is because I agree that If they were only *somewhat busy, creative thinking decreased by nineteen percent. If they were extremely busy, creative thinking decreased by a whopping *forty-five percent.”
Experts say that stress of teachers gets passed on from teachers to their students. Students in classrooms that have teachers experiencing burnout are said to have high levels of cortisol- a kind of stress hormone. High levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, in students can hinder their ability to focus, learn, and engage effectively in the learning process. This, in essence, creates a cycle where stressed teachers contribute to stressed students, resulting in a less conducive learning environment.
Productivity is less about time management than it is about mind management.
We all have the same number of hours during the day. How effectively we spend those hours really depends upon how well we can manage and harness our fragile mental energy”.I unquote.
