VERY OFTEN PARENTS ARE HEARD  SAYING  THAT in spite of having  all fine notes , books , special study room, tuition and hard work child scored less marks  and lower grades                                                                                                                                                      There could be many factors contributing to it like irregular attendance at school , not appearing for school tests sincerely and with full preparation and so on and so on. Let us dive deep in to the reasons students get bad grades ,despite studying                                       *

1You’re Struggling With Test Anxiety

The problem: If you feel so nervous that your mind goes blank when you sit down for a test, you could be struggling with test anxiety. This makes it hard to remember what you studied and concentrate on answering the questions in front of you.

The solution:Our school therefore organises and conduct test after test to eliminate the test anxiety.  If you’ve studied and you know the material, try to relax on test day. Think positive thoughts (“I studied for this, I know the material”) and practise taking deep breaths while you’re taking the test.

2You’re Not Studying To Understand

The problem: When you study, you only memorize the material rather than thinking about what it means.

The solution: It’s important to not just memorize the material; you need to understand it. Think about how the material you’re reviewing connects to other topics and ideas. This will give you a deeper, more complete understanding of what you’re studying.

3You Don’t Start Studying Early Enough

The problem: You procrastinate studying, not leaving yourself enough time to absorb the material before test day.

The solution: Create a routine that involves reviewing your notes regularly. Each night, take a few minutes to go over your notes from class. This ongoing review will help make sure you remember the material long-term.

4You’re Pulling All-Nighter Study Sessions

The problem: You pull all-night cram sessions instead of studying a little bit each day leading up to the test.

The solution: Sleep is when material is moved from short-term to long-term memory, so getting a good night’s sleep before a test is more effective than staying up all night. Plan ahead and start studying at least 3 days before your test to avoid last minute late-night studying.

5You’re Trying To Do Too Much

The problem: You study for hours at a time with no breaks. But spending more time studying doesn’t always mean you understand the material any better.

The solution: Instead of studying in large time blocks, use the spacing study method. This means studying for set amounts of time with time intervals between each session. This will help your brain absorb and retain the material more effectively.

6You’re Missing A Study Plan

The problem: You don’t have a plan to guide your study sessions, making it hard to know what you should focus on while you are studying.

The solution: Set goals for each of your study sessions of what you want to accomplish. This will help you keep track of your progress and know which areas you still need to review.

7You’re Studying The Wrong Things

The problem: Your study sessions go fine, but when you sit down to take the test you see questions that you didn’t include in your review notes.

The solution: Start creating more organized and effective study notes. Pay close attention in class to important things your teacher says (especially if he or she repeats something!). Highlight these things in your notes so you know to come back to them.

8You Only Study For The Exam

The problem: Studying is something that you only do when you are preparing for an upcoming test.

The solution: Take advantage of studying opportunities like in class discussions, peer study groups, and reviewing your notes after class. Studying a little bit each day makes it easier to study (and remember) the material, giving you a head start when it comes to test time.

9You’re Using The Wrong Learning Method

The problem: You are using a study method that doesn’t match with the way you learn. For example, auditory learners learn best by hearing, not writing notes.

The solution: Find out your learning style what type of learner you are for ex.1. Auditory learner:- Information retention is more successful with audio elements like lecture, recording and verbalising . 2. Visusal Learner:- Information retention is more successful with visual elements such as Video , images and demonstrations., 3. The read and write learner:- Information retention is more successful when studying with reading and writing elements like text books , notes taking and verbalising lessons*  , 4.Kinaesthetic Learner* :- information retention is more successful by trial and error ,hands on activities and problem solving                                                                                                                                      Therefore choose correct method  , be  positive , have a confidance and adopt the right learning strategy  ,*I am sure you will score good marks  Jai hind

STUDTY TECHNIQUE FOR  LAST 50 DAYS FOR BOARD EXAM.

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR. COLLEGE , DONDAICHA

BLOGNO.182

Students we study whole year to excel at public examination (S.S.C & H.S.C.)with very good percentage of marks  to proceed for our dream career . BUT STUDY FOR LAST 50 DAYS OR SO COUNTS AND IS VERY IMPORTANT                                                                                                                                                          RECAPATULATION , ELIMINATION TECHNIQUE ARE KNOWN TO YOU ALL . TODAY I AM GOIONG TO INVITE YOUR ATTENTION TO  SOME MORE RESULT ORIENTED STUDY TECHNIQUES.                                                                                                                          Last-minute tips for board exams which can help you study not only for longer hours but also effective in the short span of time so that you can prepare for board exam in 1 month or the remaining time and can help you get those perfect marks then you have come to a perfect place.

I am are providing a timetable for 1 month and 20 days which you can follow

All of us always wanted to score our best in the board exams but not all of us ready to make an effort to score 90+ in all subjects or above it because some students might say that” it is not possible for me”, some might say “I am an average student and cannot achieve it”, some might say “its not my cup of tea”                                                                                                            but , AS I ALWAYS SAY  if you “shoot for the moon you might not land on it but you surely land on some stars” it means “if you prepare yourself and your preparation to score above 90% you might not achieve it but you surely score a decent marks which you will not regret later” but if you prepare for board exam only to get 70% marks then there is always a chance that you will score below it.

That is why I am providing you these methods and tips which will help you shoot for the moon.                                                                              Hard work is good, probably the best way to score maximum marks or to score above 90% in the exams but analyzing the time left for the 12th board, smart work is the need of the hour.

Here are some tips which help you in your board exam preparation so that you can achieve your true potential.

1. Pomodoro Technique

To apply this technique, first you have to pick a topic which you think will definitely take 2 or more hours and then set a timer for 25 minutes in your watch or smartphone and the only compulsion is that you have to be focused for these 25 minutes without exception, nothing should bother you in this time of span, your only concern should be your topic and after 25 minute is up take a 5 minute break using the same timer.

The 5-minute break session has only one compulsion that during the break time you can do anything but study, you can exercise or clean up your room or go up and down in the stairs but your actions should not be related to study.

Once the break time is up then again set the timer for 25 minutes and after that take a 5-minute break. Repeat this cycle 4 times and then take a long break of only 15 minutes and remember that there should not be any study related activity while break time and there should not be any distractions too in that 25 minutes of study time. You can also use the advanced version of the Pomodoro technique which is 50 minutes study time and 10 minutes break time.

2. Feynman technique

This technique helps in deepening your understanding of what you already know as after this you will not forget you derivations and formulas not because you have crammed all of it but because you have understood the concept in a way that will not let you forget it. The interesting thing about this technique is that it starts after you have completed, learned or understood a topic.

When you think your topic is complete, take a piece of paper and write about it as if you are teaching the concept to someone else and ideally write and speak at the same time, just as a teacher does it at the blackboard. This makes you realize which part you understand and where you still have gaps whenever you get stuck, go back to study and repeat that process until you have explained the whole topic from start to end.

When you are done repeat the process from the beginning but this time simplifies your language or use graphics or pictures to make a point if you explanation ends up confusing you probably have not understood it well enough so should start again. Thinking about an idea by explaining it makes this learning method very effective as once you can explain an idea or concept in a simple language then you have deeply understood it and will remember it for a long time.

WE Teachers use the same technique in the class that is why they are able to explain the concept very well sometimes even without a book. You can also practice this method with your friends by explaining what you have learned and subsequently, they will learn too.

3. Set a specific time for study

Setting a specific time in day or during the week just to study, trains your brain by creating a routine and over time studying actually become easier, as your brain gets trained to learn those moments, for example, if you are habitual to take bath in the morning and it takes only 5 to 7 minutes for you to complete that, then try taking bath in the afternoon some day then you will notice that it is taking more than 7 minutes because your brain is not trained to do that activity in that time of the day and you have to put extra effort in performing the same task. Similarly, if you set a specific time for studying then your brain will automatically get trained to learn faster in that specific span of time.

4. Goal oriented study sessions

This method is also proven to be one of the most effective among students as having a specific goal for each study session. Instead of aimlessly studying you must pick one aspect or concept you will focus on whether its organic chemistry or completing the differential equations exercise or learning magnetic effects of currents. You must have a goal either for every session or for a whole day.

5. Practice along with tests

This is the most important tip I or any other can give you that not only do practice but put your brain in the environment too because even if you make mistakes they help you identify gaps in your knowledge. You must have seen that every student who scores well in the exams have practiced and took maximum tests at home and not only from the textbooks but form different books also. Practice test has also been shown to increase confidence, thereby leading to better performance.

6. Practice sample and previous  year papers (Research)

Hard work is as important as smart work. In this case, you have to do both first hard work by practicing sample papers and previous year papers and second smart work By doing research on the sample and previous year papers. Our team has done a lot of research in previous year papers and we have got some interesting facts such as specific chapters for longs questions, short questions, and very short questions, which chapters are most important, numerical chapters, etc. Here are some methods you can use for research in previous year papers:

1.         Practice from previous 3 or 5-year papers.

2.         Observe the paper pattern such as type of question (types of questions, section wise).

3.         Research on each question of every paper of all subjects and relate it with chapters and you will find that which chapter is important for short questions, long questions, numerical and derivation etc.

4.         Now you have the idea that how to prepare each chapter. Now you need to classify important topics, less important topics from each subject and start your preparation.

5.         When you start practicing, treat yourself as you are in the exam hall giving board exam. This will improve your time of solving the paper.

.

I. Do not just write to fill the answer sheet with whatever come to your mind related to the topic as it will just increase the quantity of words in your answer, therefore, *it is advisable to frame your answer strategically and choose your words meticulously

II. Use high-frequency words more than low frequency, use tough or not very regular words only when necessary otherwise use common words to explain your answer completely.

III. Do not use contractions or short form of words as this is the part of spoken English. For example, use ‘cannot’ instead of ‘can’t’, use ‘would have’ instead of ‘would’ve’, etc.

IV. Try to use concise words which will help in increasing the quality of your answer. For example, instead of ‘very rich’ use ‘wealthy‘, ‘awful‘ instead of ‘very bad’, ‘perplexed‘ instead of ‘very confused’, etc.

V. Clear and spaced words, there is no time and need to make your writing beautiful, even though this can be beneficial, but you must write in a manner that it is understandable, easily readable and without cutting and overwriting of words. You must know how to write perfect answer in board exams in order to get full marks

VI. Words and diagrams should be according to the marks allocated to that particular question. A 5-marks question must contain a well drawn and neatly labeled diagram to score the maximum marks.

Every subject is equally important when it comes to examination or scoring marks there is no distinction among subjects but when it comes to preparation of individual subject or time given to particular subject for preparation then it can vary person to person because their strong and weak subjects can be different, every student work differently on different subjects still I AM providing a 50 day schedule for the students who have these subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English, Computer Science and optional (Physical Education, etc).

1 Month 20 Days Time Table For 10th &  12th Board Exams

Digital addiction in children

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR. COLLEGE,  DONDAICHA

BLOG NO.181

the eratic  behaviiour of children at home or at public place like Mall , Garden etc. is  of common observancei. for instance  a child of almost 2 years, screaming and howling so  loudly that from a distance people turn their heads and see what was happening &  When the parents realize it is disturbing others, they try to console him but in vain. The father then immediately hands  his smartphone to this smart kid and instantly child  jumpes from his mother’s lap and starts  smiling and running around fiddling with the gadget. “Was this the right way to pacify a child?” The parents found an instant relief but, what kind of behavior were they feeding?                                                                                                                                                                            A behavior of immediate gratification by throwing tantrums. I do know that in public, parents get embarrassed by this kind of behavior and to quiet the child, they engage in wrong parenting. Where in, when the child grows up he learns to get each and every demand fulfilled by this learned conditioning.

Journal of behavioural addictions states that excessive online gaming may lead to symptoms commonly experienced by substance addicts.Digital addiction affects ones attention span, creativity and limits social interaction. It slows down the neural growth and development of children .Dr. Manoj kumar Sharma of NIMHANS states that 73% adolescents who use digital tech devices report dysfunction in one or more daily life activities.                                                                                            *

Its observed that kids are really smart in this smartphone age, for that we need smart parents to handle smart kids.         *                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       *Most parents complain about their kids who are addicted to TV, gaming, mobile phones etc.   A 2-year-old can operate a smartphone like any adult, they can open apps, select videos and play songs. This picture seems very cute and appreciable but the question is, are we supposed to hand these gadgets over at such a young age? How much ever we are proud of their brilliance, the first mistake we are making is applauding their wrong behavior which seems astonishing.

So how can parents be smart? There are certain rules to follow.

Parents should follow strict norms:

* When kids are around we should see to it that we should not engage in phones or any gadgets rather than paying attention to them. Children are quick to imitate one’s nature. Parents here should have a ‘self-check’. If you have a habit of engaging yourself in phones or working on your PCs, have a separate time to do so.

* When kids are a little grown up, they can be explained that though there are many attractive apps, their priorities are different. Phones can be given on a condition. If other duties (like homework, outdoor activities, house chores etc.) are fulfilled and verified by an adult, the gadget can be given for a specific time period. Parents should strictly follow this time period. A child usually makes excuses to work on a mobile or a laptop to collect information for his project. In such cases, parent supervision is recommended.

* Nowadays our phones and TVs have child-lock options, make use of it so that the child never uses those electronics in your absence.

* Both the parents should strictly follow the same rules, otherwise, the child learns to convince the weaker parent and break the rules.

* We should explain to the children that as there are traffic rules like, when one drives a car, he has to follow the signal, a particular age is required to get a driver’s license, in the same way we at home should follow certain rules to inculcate good habits and further encourage good behavior.

* If the rules are broken, we are fined or punished. In the same way, one can have conditions. If a child completes his homework with a strict check or other activities then and then only, they can access the gadget for about 30 mins. Here again, the time schedule should be strictly followed. If they fail to do so, the gadget should be locked and kept away.

* Parents should have a habit of playing with the kids, reading along with them, exploring new games (indoor and outdoor) and follow certain rules together, which is very important. This helps the child be obedient and do accordingly. Parents are role models to their kids, so the children aren’t to be blamed. Observe yourselves and correct mistakes before it is too late.

* For children who throw tantrums or cry loudly, ‘time-out’ method can be used. Here the child is made to sit by himself and attention is averted for a particular time limit. Slowly, the child learns that crying doesn’t help anymore. This technique helps to reduce misbehavior.

Parenting is not always setting rules, it is mostly comprised of grooming their child’s personality by having effective communication.

If one notices 3  or more signs given below kindly visit an expert immediately.

* Your child is preoccupied with gadgets.

*Promises to use gadget for 1/2 hr but unable to leave the screen for hours.

*Losing interest in academic achievement.

*Displays anger and irritation when  a device is taken away.

*Reduces outdoor activities.

*Accuses parents of mental and physical violence.

* Skips household chores.

*Indulges in binge watching of TV /videos.

In some cases, if it is too late to control their child’s behavior, they should seek professional help where guidance and therapies are given.

GOAL SETTINGS

Goal Setting:

S –Specific (स्पष्ट)

M -Measurable (जिसे मापा जा सके)

R- Realistic ( वास्तविक)

T- Time-bound ( समय में बंधा हुआ)

For example.

MATHEMATICS DAY

Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas” said Albert Einstein. He is known to be one of the most famous physicists that led to numerous discoveries in the world

Maths is wonderful and magical! It is, after all, the only place where someone can buy 100 oranges and no one questions why!

Ramanujan always had a knack for mathematics and wanted to excel in the same field since he was a child.

He propunded his own theorem when he was just at the age of 12 and portrayed outstanding results in Trigonometry.

His achievements was not only limited to Indian rather he was a well recognised mathematician who was called to britain for his impressive work

He became the member of the Royal society in 1918 and contributed majorly to the feld.

Unfortunately Srinivasa Ramnujan passed away rather utimely, just at the age of 32.

Mathematics  is important to develop engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and other STEM

professionals.

But, in all honesty, math is crucial in life, regardless of one’s chosen path.

Perhaps the most crucial reason to study mathematics is that it improves problem-solving abilities

. Every citizen should be able to reason and think analytically about a situation. Our minds are trained to seek solutions logically due to the habits of mind connected with learning mathematics.

While math skills are required in STEM disciplines, mathematics is used in almost every profession. Math can be found anywhere!  *builders must have a strong understanding of measurement, and everyone in retail must deal with change.

Why Do Students Find Maths A Nightmare?

Struggle to Relate To

You can improve your math when you will relate your subject to a real-life situation

Some students can’t relate their math subject to real-life examples because of the challenging and advanced concepts. That’s why they don’t know why is math important for them.

Answers Can Only Be Right Or Wrong

Many students only want to know whether their answer is right or wrong. But it becomes difficult to deal with the problem. Because if students’ answer is incorrect and they don’t know exactly where they did it wrong it becomes challenging for them. That’s why students get frustrated with math.

If you’re a student and you’re not studying math, you’re missing out on important concepts that will help you understand the world! Math is a helpful and necessary skill for almost every job in the world

Many students don’t take advantage of this. Whether you want to go into business, science, or technology, math skills are almost always an important part of the job. By taking at least a few courses in this subject, you have a great advantage over other non-mathematical students

There is no single profession on the globe that does not use mathematics.

No matter which way I look at it, math came first and foremost and was at the core of my success. Science, technology and engineering, so essential to the future success of our country, cannot thrive without practitioners having a solid mathematics foundation.

Our teachers use technology as well as the latest pedagogical tools to encourage our students to think out-of-the-box and innovate in and out of the classroom(.

We use innovation by integrating different subjects and giving hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. At our Hasti school , we also understand that every student is different and so, we assign projects to individual students based on their interests and capability.

At Hasti school we  also encourages students to develop different Life Skills, thereby inculcating innovation and unleashing the creativity of students. So, if you are looking for an approach to education that is creative, innovative, and cutting-edge, look no further than Hasti , The Concept School!

Hasti school , a K-12 institution has been a pioneer   and is  honored with various International and National awards from the Educational world , Edu excellence , Edu mirror and  other reputed organizations in the areas of excellence and performance. Innovation involves a different way of looking at problems and solving them. It also improves education because it compels students to use a higher level of thinking to solve complex problems. Innovation does not just mean the use of technology or new inventions, though these can contribute to innovation. Innovation involves a new way of thinking, thereby helping students develop their creativity and problem-solving skills.

The importance of Innovation in education can be a rather intangible concept and can mean different things to different people. However, there are very real and tangible benefits of innovation in education. Innovation cannot be tested or graded, but it can be inculcated and built up in students. In this environment of high-stakes testing, it can be incredibly difficult to introduce innovation and creativity in the classroom. However, here are eight different ways that the importance of innovative teaching can introduce innovation in the classroom…

1.Challenge students by giving them a problem that is both authentic and interesting:

There is no one project for every student. This means that a project has to be flexible enough for students to fit it into their own interests. It also means that teachers need to know about their students’ interests. Authenticity involves using real tools to tackle problems, which do not have their answers printed at the back of a book. Ideal problems involve defining some general parameters and tools but leave the specific problem definition up to the student. An example of such a project could be, “Design a musical instrument that you can play without using your mouth or hands”.

Give students the basics but keep it short:

You will need to give students some basic information and knowledge to get started on their projects. However, the amount of information that the class will need will be less than what you would expect. You can chunk this information into organized blocks of 5 to 10 minutes and deliver these in a mini-lesson at the start of the class.

3.Encourage students to research independently:

If the project design is clear and coherent, students will get the vast majority of the information they need from their own independent research. This research can draw from Wikipedia, internet message boards, programming language documentation, sample code, and so on.

4.Build complex skills in students:

You can encourage students to use complex tools to complete their projects. Some of these tools include Tickle, Tynker, Scratch, Makey Makey, and so on. Both teachers and students need to become familiar with these tools to use them regularly.

5.Check that students have understood the concepts:

In a classroom focusing on highly individualized projects, teachers need to monitor what students are struggling with. Optimal learning occurs when students struggle with a problem that they are able to find the solution to. If they cross over into frustration or confusion, they are likely to give up. Teachers should keep careful track of what students know and what they should learn in order to successfully complete their projects.

6.Ensure that students find innovative uses of everyday objects:

Most people see only a single use for an object. This is called Functional Fixedness. Students can be taught to see beyond this and can also learn how to fashion electric switches out of clothespins or build a robot torso out of a soda bottle. This will help students flex their creative muscles and think beyond the standard uses of everyday objects.

7.Confirm that students know what they still need to learn:

In order to innovate and solve problems effectively, students need to understand not only what they already know and what they still need to learn. Teachers should build their projects so that students can list the things they understand about their project, as well as the things they need to understand better.

8.Do not grade students on innovation and creativity:

Grades work really well when there is one correct answer for a specific problem. For projects that emphasize innovation and creativity, there is no one answer. If you want students to own a problem and find a genuinely original solution for it, you cannot motivate them with a grade.

The National Education Policy (NEP) states its objectives and vision at various points in the document. Chapter four of the education policy states that the school syllabus and teaching methods should be holistic, easy to understand, unified and interesting. For school education it is important to create a quest for knowledge or scientific temperament, develop a sense of good citizenship, making the students aware by class XII of all the basic knowledge required for day to day life. One would like to explain how the vision and objectives laid in the policy can be achieved. *The focus here is basically on the education up to class X as XI and XII are left out for focussing on further career development We stress on regularly assigning different project regularly and periodically say monthly or quiarterly as and when needed.

SHAPING OF  CHILDREN THROUGH PARENTS BEHAVIOUR”

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE,DONDAICHA                                                                                                                                                                         *BLOGNUMBER175

There are no bad children, just bad parents

The importance of Parents in one’s life is quite evident from this eminent quotation. Parenthood is a responsible venture and there’s no debate on that topic.

Parents play a pivotal role in their children’s life. They are the pillars of support, guidance, and love.. No matter how old a child gets there’s nothing more comforting and soothing than their parent’s arms.

The role of parents in a child’s life is beyond the idea of prompting.

There is nobody like them who can shape and mould a child’s behavior and development.

So parents should never seize to inspire and assist their children and thereby parents should strive to be the best teacher in their child’s life.

Maintaining a good Parent-Child relationship is the first step towards wise parenting. Right from the birth of their offspring, parents should be aware of the enormous reliability and accountability in their child’s life. Child development lies its root in their parental behavior. Nothing can overcome the rigidity of a child’s upbringing. A parent thereby acts as a visionary to their children.  Let us dive deep in the topic.

*MOULDIG OF CHILD THROUGH PARANTAL BEHAVIOUR

AFTER ALL , what is the goal when you’re dealing with children?

 To show who’s boss?

 To instill fear?

 Or

TO HELP THE CHILD DEVELOPINTO A DECENT, SELF CONFIDENT HUMAN BEING?

Good parenting helps foster empathy, honesty, self-reliance, self-control, kindness, cooperation, and cheerfulness

It also promotes intellectual curiosity, motivation, and desire to achieve.

It helps protect children from developing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, anti-social behavior, and alcohol and drug abuse.

Children should never be hit — not even a slap on a toddler’s bottom

If your young child is headed into danger, into traffic, you can grab him and hold him, but you should under no circumstances hit him.”

A parent’s relationship with his or her child will be reflected in the child’s actions — including child behavior problems,

If you don’t have a good relationship with your child, they’re not going to listen to you.

*Think how you relate to other adults. If you have a good

relationship with them*, you tend to trust them more, listen to their opinions, and agree with them.

If it’s someone we just don’t like, we will ignore their opinion.”

The 10 Principles of Good Parenting

1. What you do matters. “This is one of the most important principles,”

“What you do makes a difference.

Your kids are watching you. Don’t just react on the spur of the moment. Ask yourself, ‘What do I want to accomplish, and is this likely to produce that result?

2. You cannot be too loving. “It is simply not possible to spoil a child with love,”

“What we often think of as the product of spoiling a child is never the result of showing a child too much love. It is usually the consequence of giving a child things in place of love — things like leniency, lowered expectations, or material possessions.”

3.Be involved in your child’s life

. “Being an involved parent takes time and is hard work, and it often means rethinking and rearranging your priorities. It frequently means sacrificing what you want to do for what your child needs to do. Be there mentally as well as physically.”

Being involved does not mean doing a child’s homework — or reading it over or correcting it. “Homework is a tool for teachers to know whether the child is learning or not,” Steinberg tells WebMD. “If you do the homework, you’re not letting the teacher know what the child is learning.”

5. Establish and set rules. “If you don’t manage your child’s behavior when he is young, he will have a hard time learning how to manage himself when he is older and you aren’t around. Any time of the day or night, you should always be able to answer these three questions: Where is my child? Who is with my child? What is my child doing? The rules your child has learned from you are going to shape the rules he applies to himself.”

“But you can’t micromanage your child,” Once they’re in middle school, you need let the child do their own homework, make their own choices, and not intervene.”

6.* Foster your child’s independence*. “Setting limits helps your child develop a sense of self-control. Encouraging independence helps her develop a sense of self-direction. To be successful in life, she’s going to need both.”

7. Be consistent. “If your rules vary from day to day in an unpredictable fashion or if you enforce them only intermittently, your child’s misbehavior is your fault, not his. Your most important disciplinary tool is consistency. Identify your non-negotiables. The more your authority is based on wisdom and not on power, the less your child will challenge it.”

“When parents aren’t consistent, children get confused. You have to force yourself to be more consistent.”It is normal for children to push for autonomy,  “*Many parents mistakenly equate their child’s independence with rebelliousness or disobedience. Children push for independence because it is part of human nature to want to feel in control rather than to feel controlled by someone else.”

8. Avoid harsh discipline. Parents should never hit a child, under any circumstances. “Children who are spanked, hit, or slapped are more prone to fighting with other children,” he writes. “They are more likely to be bullies and more likely to use aggression to solve disputes with others.”There is a lot of evidence that spanking causes aggression in children, which can lead to relationship problems with other kids,” . “There are many other ways to discipline a child, including ‘time out,’ which work better and do not involve aggression.”

9. Explain your rules and decisions. “Good parents have expectations they want their child to live up to,” he writes. “Generally, parents overexplain to young children and underexplain to adolescents. What is obvious to you may not be evident to a 12-year-old. He doesn’t have the priorities, judgment or experience that you have.”

An example: A 6-year-old is very active and very smart — but blurts out answers in class, doesn’t give other kids a chance, and talks too much in class. His teacher needs to address the child behavior problem. He needs to talk to the child about it,  “*Parents might want to meet with the teacher and develop a joint strategy. That child needs to learn to give other children a chance to answer questions.”

10. Treat your child with respect. “The best way to get respectful treatment from your child is to treat him respectfully,”  You should give your child the same courtesies you would give to anyone else. Speak to him politely. Respect his opinion. Pay attention when he is speaking to you. Treat him kindly. Try to please him when you can. Children treat others the way their parents treat them. Your relationship with your child is the foundation for her relationships with others.”

For example, if your child is a picky eater: “I personally don’t think parents should make a big deal about eating,” Children develop food preferences. They often go through them in stages. You don’t want turn mealtimes into unpleasant occasions. Just don’t make the mistake of substituting unhealthy foods. If you don’t keep junk food in the house, they won’t eat it.”

Likewise, the checkout line tantrum can be avoided, Children respond very well to structure. You can’t go shopping without preparing them for it. Tell them, ‘We will be there 45 minutes. Mommy needs to buy this. Show them the list. If you don’t prepare them, they will get bored, tired, upset by the crowds of people.”

“Parents forget to consider the child, to respect the child,”

You work on your relationships with other adults, your friendships, your marriage, dating. But what about your relationship with your child? If you have a good relationship, and you’re really in tune with your child, that’s what really matters. Then none of this will be an issue.”

Digital Rupee (e₹-R) may play a big role in providing a safe and reliable means of payment for direct transfer programs of government welfare programmes. .

With Digital Rupee, efficiency, lower fee requirements, faster settlement, increased transparency and lower privacy would translate to everyday lives slowly but will have both positive and negative externalities.

“CBDCs can play a big role in the government’s push to provide a safe and reliable means of payments for direct benefit transfer programs of government welfare programs. They promote inclusive and innovative payments if properly monitored, and the risks involved are overcome through effective means,” says Manish Sharma, Founding Partner of Centricity Wealth Tech.

If leveraged for government schemes, Digital Rupee would ensure no leakage and automated release of payments on the completion of certain tasks.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT DIGITAL RUPEE

Will Digital Rupee replace physical currency?

Digital Rupee will not replace physical currency. It is meant to complement physical currency.

“Digital currency advocated by the central banks is to complement and not replace the current forms of money and will provide users with an additional way of payment, with the existing payments systems still being in place. The digital rupee ideated by RBI will be generated through an advanced payment system which is affordable, accessible, convenient, efficient, safe, and secure and will further bolster,” says Rachit Chawla, CEO, Finway FSC.

Will Digital Rupee boost lending?

Instant lending to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India can be possible with the help of CBDC. As more MSMEs use CBDC, banks can draw up a more accurate borrower risk profile. This can be used to promptly meet MSME financing requirements. Moreover, the stimulus for MSMEs can also be disbursed quickly from the central bank. This can help businesses grow and sustain themselves during periods of uncertainty where the availability of cash is limited.

Will Digital Rupee transactions be traceable?

Digital Rupee transactions will be traceable. Experts say that CBDC’s traceability may help retail users and MSMEs prove their creditworthiness.

Will Digital Rupee be based on blockchain?

Experts say that the CBDC for retail would likely be on a Distributed Ledger Technology and not necessarily the blockchain.

“There would be a transparent overview of transactions between participants. The automation ability and instant settlement will help speed up the overall financial infrastructure on which retail payments operate.

Will Digital Rupee have private keys like cryptocurrencies?

There are some concerns about the private keys of the Digital Rupee and the risks associated with losing a private key. However, it seems likely that Digital Rupee would not be based on a self-custodial model.

Will Digital Rupee be exchangeable with cash?

Experts expect there would be fungibility of the CBDC with cash for retail. This would make it an opt-in opt-out kind of system.

Will Digital Rupee help in tax collection?

Digital Rupee may make it easy to collect taxes through smart contracts.

“There are also interesting ways for the tax to be collected through smart contracts linked to the CBDC, but there are various other developments in law, policy and education which would be required before a full retail rollout,”

The digital currency can help in evolving modified and improved Banking products and services. It can also help in prevention of frauds by effectively tracking end use of funds. The Digital Rupee has the potential of transforming the economy and Banking sector in multiple ways

BLOG .NO 171
