Every two days now we create as much information as we did from the dawn of civilization up until 2022. That is something like five exabytes of data. User-generated data and social media are a huge part of this created information.

How do we empower our students to effectively use and interpret this data?

As teacher,  librarians, we need to facilitate a learning environment which enables our students to understand and utilize this information.

To succeed in the future, our students will require research, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. They will need to be able to work independently and together with groups of other students.

We know that students need to be engaged with relevant, meaningful and exciting learning. It is at our Hasti school that we must provide our students with the skills and knowledge required for the suggested different careers. And therefore at our Hasti School we have structural learning that is learning of important skill every year right from preprimary to XII

With the Future focused learning we at our Hasti school are  empowering students to take ownership of their learning by providing an environment which is flexible, innovative and challenging and which will foster students who are capable of making formative decisions based on accessing the facts.

Our  school is driven by  seven key concepts which give the inquiries direction  and meaning this is followed right from Preprimary level

It offers an inquiry-based, trans disciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding .

It is a student-centered approach to education for children aged 3-12. It reflects the best of educational research, thought leadership and experience.Student Guide and Students followers strategy*.

Form:- The understanding that everything has a form with recognizable features that can be observed, identified, described and categorized.

Function -The understanding that everything has a purpose, a role or a way of behaving that can be investigated.

Causation – The understanding that things do not just happen, that there are causal relationships at work, and that actions have consequences.

Change – The understanding that change is the process of movement from one state to another. It is universal and inevitable.

Connection -The understanding that we live in a world of interacting systems in which the actions of any individual element affect others.

Perspective -The understanding that knowledge is moderated by perspectives; different perspectives lead to different interpretations, understandings and findings; perspectives may be individual, group, cultural or disciplinary.

Responsibility -the understanding that people make choices based on their understanding, and the actions they take as a result do make a difference.

We focus on 2-3 key concepts within each unit, and emphasize on the depth of learning, rather than the breadth at this stage.

These key concepts integrate smoothly with our transdisciplinary teaching, allowing the children to learn across disciplines, seamlessly carrying the big idea into each subject area. The key concepts are constantly revisited as children’s understanding develops and deepens as they progress

most common stresses which stdents feel and their management

WHAT IS STRESS?

Stress is one of the main problems faced by students nowadays. I*ncreased levels of stress can have a negative impact on students’ physical and mental well-being*. Stress can take a toll on students’ sleep patterns, diet and cognitive functioning. All this together can hamper their academic performance, social behaviour and relationships.

WHAT CAUSES STRESS AMONG STUDENTS? 3 COMMON TYPES OF STRESS AMONG STUDENTS

•           Academic pressure: Sometimes the pressure of getting good grades and prioritising  academic achievement over everything else can make life stressful for students.

•           Peer pressure: This affects the self confidence in a student and makes him/her do the things they would have not done normally.

•           Poor time management: From submitting assignments to taking part in school events, students these days have a lot on their plate. Poor time management and falling behind on schedule can make students anxious leading to stress.

8 SOLUTIONS TO STRESS

•           Get enough sleep: A good night’s sleep keeps the student fresh and active throughout the day. An 8-hour sleep is required for the proper functioning of the mind. It’s okay for students to sometimes pull an overnighter. However, they should deprive themselves of sleep in the long run. It has been found that lack of sleep not only increases fatigue but also worsens cognitive performance.

•           Exercise regularly: Physical activity can help lower students’ overall stress levels and improve their quality of life. Exercising helps produce feel-good hormones that foster a feeling of calmness and relaxation. Students should go for walks or take part in sports on a daily basis. Whenever they are stressed, a walk can be helpful in clearing the mind.

•           Take calming breaths: Deep breaths help in bringing down the anxiety level. There are many breathing techniques that students can practise whenever they are feeling under stress. Whenever faced with difficult situations, taking deep breaths can help students calm down.

•           Listening to music: Music has a profound effect on the body and mind. Listening to music is a great way to manage stress. While upbeat music helps students feel more positive, instrumental or light music helps them feel relaxed. Students can dedicate a time of the day to listen to music.

•           Get organised: One of the reasons for getting stressed is not being organised. Students can plan their schedules in advance so that they will have clarity about the work. These days, there are several apps that can help students use their time more efficiently.

•           Eat a healthy diet: When students are stressed out, they often look for junk foods to make themselves temporarily happy. However, these sugar-laden beverages and salty snacks contribute to anxiety. They cause blood sugar to spike and crash which causes mood swings. Students should stick to a healthy diet to feel energetic.

•           Meditation: Students can include meditation in their daily routine this will help in keeping their minds healthy and calm. This will help them focus more on their studies so that they can maintain a healthy balance in their personal and academic life.

•           Positive affirmations: Positive affirmations can help students build confidence. A great way to introduce positive affirmations into daily life is to read a positive quote every day. Students must use positive adjectives when it comes to describing themselves.

BLOG NO 167

The development of vocabulary is essential for children to comprehend the meaning of the language they learn. Furthermore, having a robust vocabulary for children improves confidence and social skills throughout the years of childhood and into adulthood.

Apart from the formal curriculum, your contribution to the vocabulary of your child is vital as an adult. A majority of the words the child learns, come in their parents’ language which is why your involvement as a parent in the process of developing vocabulary boosts their motivation and performance.

A broad vocabulary helps kids to improve their odds of academic achievement. Below are some suggestions to help your children master the vocabulary and develop it at home.

Prioritize conversations

The interaction between children and parents is the primary influence on vocabulary, so speaking to your child and showing them various words is essential. For instance, you can name objects, use numbers as well as introduce vocabulary that express emotion, because the more words they learn and comprehend, the more they’ll be able to utilize the words.

Read together

It is vital to establish reading as a regular part of your life, that is every day. Continue reading to your child even if they’re able to read independently. Children love stories, and you can increase their vocabulary by reading books that are difficult to read by themselves. Find out what your child’s interests are and choose books that stimulate your child’s interest.

Use labels

If you wish for your child to be able to comprehend more vocabulary and phrases, make it simple. Consider labelling the objects in your home to assist your child to read new words. Improve their comprehension skills for words that are commonly used through a label maker. They can name objects and identify what the word is like.

Make use of words in sentences

It doesn’t matter whether the child you are teaching is learning new vocabulary if they aren’t able to utilize them. Learning to utilize a word in the form of a sentence can aid them in understanding its meaning. If your child receives spellings in school, encourage them to write a paragraph which includes every word and invites them to search for it in a dictionary, if they’re unsure of the significance.

Repeat and repeat

To master new words and be absorbed into their memory into the child’s memory, they must be exposed to the word at least once. Experts recommend that children be exposed to the word between 4 to 12 times before it’s permanently stored in their memory and thus fully integrated into their vocabulary.

Don’t dump down

Children are always able to have a more vocabulary that is receptive than expressive which means they know more vocabulary than they utilize. There is no need to complicate the way you communicate with your child. Instead, you should try to talk to them in the same way as you were talking with an adult. Make use of the difficult words in their daily lives for example, Tier 2 vocabulary terms.                                                            *

Talk to them about reading aloud

Reading to children in a group helps children read more difficult books than what they read by themselves. Additionally, it gives them the opportunity to be exposed to words that are more difficult and to regularly encounter new vocabulary in different contexts. This helps to build their vocabulary as well as an understanding of the communication possibilities that are available to the language.

The suggestions above can help your child learn the new vocabulary in fun and simple methods.

How to make teaching say of Physics interesting and easy

HAST PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE.DODAICHA

BLOG NO 166

It is well documented that traditional methods of long lectures and seminars do not help the students to acquire a deep understanding of the concepts. Consequently, they were not able to apply the concepts in real life problem solving Hence, our Hasti school  propose, the use of “nontraditional methods “that involve performing simple experiments and interactive learning to recall, reinforce and introduce basic concepts of different subject here  about physics

The proposal is the teacher explains the basic components of the concept followed by presenting a real-life situation (video/ text/experiment), asks the students to analyze and put forth their understanding,  corrects and explains the misconceptions and finishes the topic with a small quiz

Flipped Classroom Method:

In this method, students view video lectures on their own and then engaging in active learning during scheduled class times.

Alternatively, we could give lecture notes and ask the students to read and come. This material will not be covered in the class lecture; instead main points will be summarized.

We take online quizzes to enforce lecture viewing, take three or more in-class exams, and prepare to participate in active learning during scheduled class times. Active learning approaches included individual activities, paired activities, informal small groups, and large group activities.

This will be followed by clicker questions and discussions, specific mathematical derivations, demonstrations and simulations, questions, and answers, and worked examples, as part of the classroom activity.

UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION

Transforming Physics from dry-difficult- boring subject to interesting-fun-everyday subject.

Objectives and Scope: This method can be successfully used for students of grade seventh- twelfth. The aim is to make Physics interesting and simple enough for the students to understand, remember and apply the gained knowledge.

1.         Explanation of components of a Physics Law/Concept helps the students to recall their previously gained understanding.

2.         Presentation of real-life situation involving the Physics Law/concept helps to relate the subject with everyday life.

3.         Analyzing the situation by the students helps them to be interactive, recollect past knowledge and brainstorm. This makes the subject interesting and instills deeper understanding of the concept.

4.         Discussing and correcting the explanations given by students, by the teacher, helps to remove any misconceptions, improves practical skills, and introduces further details to already learnt concept.

5.         Quiz on the concept helps to reinforce the learning and fixes the knowledge without any confusion.

STRATEGY DESCRIPTION

Part 1

Teaching Ohm’s Law (3 step process in class) – Grade 10  Experimental Method

Preparation of the concept (recall)

1.         Components of Ohm’s law are explained in the class. Such as Current, Voltage, Resistance, Conductors, Insulators, methods of measuring these quantitatively (Ammeter, Voltmeter etc.).

2.         Simple circuit diagram is drawn on the board. A video is shown in the class demonstrating the law in a real-life situation

Interactive Learning (participation, brainstorming, making mistakes)

3.         Students are asked to name the components and give the order of their attachment in a circuit to exhibit passage of electricity. Any incorrect answers will be corrected by the teacher and explanation given for the same.

4.         Using the instruments given in the Physics Laboratory, a circuit will be assembled in the classroom.

5.         Concept of constant and variable factors are introduced which are important for any experiment.

6.         Students use the circuit to measure current with changing voltage. They conclude from the obtained readings

7.         Students state Ohm’s law in their own words based on the experiment they conducted.

Fixing of the knowledge

8. A simple quiz (theoretical + numerical questions) is handed out to the students that helps them to understand, introduce and reinforce Ohm’s law.

Part 2

Teaching Diffraction of Light – Grade 12

Flipped Classroom Method

In class exam based on the Lecture video is given – Could be a “Minute test” or a short exam depending on the time available.

Activity:

The class is divided into groups of 5 members. Following materials will be provided.

1.         Glass Tumbler

2.         Liquid

3.         Laser

4.         Glass slab

5.         The team must plan an activity to prove this phenomenon using the given set materials and they must state the factors on which diffraction depends and how?

These methodologies will have limitations such as

a) Time management, especially, for large and detailed concepts.

b) For large class size, its better to be done in groups rather than individuals.

c) May still involve traditional teaching methods (Chalk and Talk) such as for derivations.

However, this methodology would no doubt make learning Physics more enjoyable and would keep the students attentive. This exercise would help in relating the subject to everyday experiences ensuring deeper learning without any confusion.

forward thinking mind set

HAST PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE.DODAICHA

BLOG NO 164

In order to make our Hasti school as forward thinking  school  , we need to make efforts to develop forward thinking mind set for our students . To implant and develop  the forward thinking mind  in students  we need to :-

1.         Teach them compassion.

2.         Teach them to use their voice.

3.         Teach them how to resolve conflicts.

4.         Teach them to respect their environment.

5.         Teach them to get involved.

6.         Teach them who our leaders are

7.         Teach them equality.

For this primarily we need to be  a positive example to our students ,to our  circle and to our community.

To be a forward thinking person  one should  have  some unique habits

Here are twenty habits of forward-thinking people.

1 Forward Thinking People Don’t Live in the Past

Forward thinking people only use the past as a reference point from where they’ve been. You acknowledge the important lesson you’ve learned, and you leave the bad stuff behind you. As you’re traveling toward your goals, you live in the moment and plan.

2. They Stay Focused on Their Goals

It’s easy to become distracted by everyday problems and negative people. Of course, you’ll have troubles and difficulties that are unavoidable, and they need your attention. Regardless of adverse circumstances, forward thinking people focus their attention on their goals and dreams.

3. They Keep Rationality and Creativity Balanced

You labeled yourself a long time ago as either left-brained or right-brained. This popular theory suggests that left-brained thinkers are more analytical while right-brained people rely on creativity and intuition. However, a study published by PLOS One may discount the idea.

In fact, the study explains how most personality types are a combination of both brain hemispheres. They carefully analyze their decisions, but they also consider their imagination for creative ideas. It’s a crucial balance for problem-solving and setting goals.

4. Forward Thinking People See the Big Picture

They say that the devil is in the details and positive thinkers pay attention to them. You try your best to research your ideas and make necessary changes. On the other hand, you’re not so smothered by details that you can’t foresee your dreams as a reality.

5. They Maintain Positive Energy Do you remember the iconic tv commercial of the pink bunny with a long-lasting battery? The battery’s energy puts a spark in his step, and he keeps going while others have worn out. Think of positive energy as the battery that motivates your mind and aspirations.

A negative attitude only zaps your energy, and you may feel depressed and give up on your goals. While even positive thinkers have a difficult day occasionally, they refuse to adopt a negative outlook. You’re more likely to reach your goals when you stay positive and surround yourself with like-minded people.

6. They Inspire Others

Free-thinking people aren’t entirely motivated for their excellence. Not only do you want to improve your life, but you work to make things better for others. Your positive attitude is contagious, and you naturally inspire people in your circle to dream big and go for it.

7. Forward Thinking People Color Outside of the Lines

If there’s one thing a free thinker isn’t, it’s a conformist. Although you follow the rules, laws and respect protocols, you believe in more than one way to do something. Many aspects of problem-solving and achieving your goals depend on creative thinking.

8. They Stay Open-Minded

People who are focused on higher aspirations have no room for bigotry and narrow-mindedness in their lives. You respect different opinions and levels of society even if they aren’t yours. When you actively listen to others and share ideas, you may find common ground that benefits you and them.

9. They Own Their Destiny

Unfortunately, some people stop short of realizing their dreams by not owning them. Instead of taking responsibility for mistakes and learning from them, they may shift the blame, and their lives become stagnant. If you have a positive mindset, you take ownership of your destiny and don’t put it in the hands of others.

10 Forward Thinking People Aren’t Controlled by Fear

Courage isn’t the absence of fear, but it’s the determination to overcome it. For many people, fear is the main obstacle standing between them and achieving their goals. Positive thinking people also have fears and uncertainties, but they refuse to be defined or controlled.forward thinking

11 They Practice Gratitude Daily

A grateful spirit goes a long way in this world. It only takes a second to say, “thank you,” and express your gratitude every day. Learn to count your blessings and take nothing for granted. Be thankful for every person and each resource that contributes to reaching your dreams.

12. Forward Thinking People Are Quick to Apologize and Forgive

Just because you’re a forward thinking person doesn’t mean you’re perfect. Making mistakes and having shortcomings are part of the human condition. People will respect you more when you sincerely apologize for offenses, make amends, and try not to repeat them.

Equally  crucial for positive thinkers is to offer forgiveness. It doesn’t excuse other people’s offenses, but it frees you to release the hurt and move on. Not only is it vital to forgive others, but also to learn to forgive yourself.

13. They Boost Other People’s Self-Confidence

How do forward thinkers motivate people? They share their enthusiasm and self-confidence. When you genuinely boost others’ confidence and believe in their dreams, they will also support yours, and everyone wins.

14. They Give Back to Their Community

The best way to show your gratitude for those who gave you a hand up is to follow their example. Innovative ideas only work when you share them and make it a thoughtful group effort. Find someone at work or in your community and offer to be a mentor. Plus, positive thinkers are valuable in community outreach programs. You draw closer to those in need, and you gladly serve them. Not only do you see giving back as a duty, but also as an opportunity to benefit the whole community.

15. Forward Thinking People Have a Sense of Humor

According to an article published by the Mayo Clinic, humor enriches you physically, mentally, and spiritually. It can lower your stress levels and soothe tension. Some studies suggest that laughter might improve your mood and boost your immune system.

You’re never too important or busy that you can’t enjoy humor in your life. Whether it’s chuckling with a coworker about a joke or laughing with your mate while watching a comedy, laughter is healing. Forward thinking people see the benefits of laughing at themselves, too.

16. They Cultivate Joy

Free thinking allows joy and fulfillment to flourish in your life. It’s much more than gaining material wealth. When your goals push beyond self and benefit others, you succeed regardless of your bank account.

Creating ideas and bringing them to fruition provides a satisfaction that money can’t buy. Of course, everyone wants to have beautiful things, and that’s fine. However, it’s the senses of accomplishment, gratitude, and generosity that last overall.

17  Forward Thinking People Steer Clear of Gossip and Complaining

A wise person once warned to avoid people who constantly gossip about others. Be assured that they’re badmouthing you, too. Backbiters and contentious people are usually so miserable in their life that they revel in the pain of others, real or imagined.

As a positive thinker, you surround yourself with others who value genuineness and positivity. Chronic complainers smother people in a smog of gloom, doom, and negativity. Do yourself a favor and avoid such people as much as you can.

18 They Understand the Law of Attraction

How can you expect blessings to come your way if you do nothing to attract them? The concept behind the law of attraction is that when you send affirmations into the Universe, you will attract the same. Positive affirmations attract positive results, and negative ones only attract more misfortune.

Whether you call this guiding force God, the Universe, or the Collective Consciousness, it’s more than willing to agree with innovations. Make a habit of sending positive affirmations through prayer or meditation, then visualize the results. You may soon be delighted when you’re achieving your goals as planned.

19. They Balance Work and Play

Although the law of attraction works as an agreement with your mind and the Universe, you also need positive efforts. The couch potato won’t achieve anything if they don’t put some effort into their goals. It takes challenging work and patience to see the results you want.

Keep in mind that you also need a healthy balance of work and play. What good does it do you to have all you ever wanted and are too busy to enjoy them? Spend time with your loved ones and friends and learn to take it easy sometimes.

20. A Forward Thinking Person Will Keep Their Emotions in Check

It’s not good for you to keep your feelings bottled up inside. At some point, you’ll have an emotional explosion. However, you can express yourself calmly and rationally during an emotionally charged situation.

We have many people around having above habits . Our chairman sir is the live example of forward thinking personality.  let us try to develop above mention habits and be a forward thinking personality.

RUBRICS

HAST PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE.DODAICHA

BLOG NO 164                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Historically rubrics have primarily been used for grading and communicating expectations to students , whereas their benefits in the learning process of students have often not been fully  exploited. used*

Feedback is powerful and is key for student growth and learning. There are many qualities of good feedback*, and rubrics can help scaffold some of these, especially that of goal-oriented and actionable feedback

Rubrics have become a staple in education , and for good reason, boasting a multitude of benefits for both summative and formative purposes.

In essence, rubrics help instructors assess performance, but they also allow instructors to communicate expectations, add a layer of structure to observations and can play a role in students’ formative learning process*.

For a long time, rubrics have been primarily used in summative assessment in a teacher-centered way, meaning they are mostly used to quickly and reliably grade student work. Now there seems to be an increasing shift towards using rubrics in a student-centered way, which focuses on student learning .*When used in formative assessment rubrics help students ask and reflect on questions such as: Where am I going? Where am I now? And where am I heading next?

Facilitating a learning environment where students can ask themselves these questions is crucial in supporting student agency and self-regulatory processes (monitoring their progress towards goals, and redirecting their efforts when unsuccessful).

A rubric is a great tool for teachers because it is a simple way to set up a grading criteria for assignments. Not only is this tool useful for teachers, it is helpful for students as well. A rubric defines in writing what is expected of the student to get a particular grade on an assignment.

Heidi Goodrich Andrade, a rubrics expert, defines a rubric as “a scoring tool that lists the criteria for a piece of work or ‘what counts.’

” For example, a rubric for an essay might tell students that their work will be judged on purpose, organization details, voice, and mechanics.

A good rubric also describes levels of quality for each of the criteria. These levels of performance may be written as different ratings (e.g., Excellent, Good, Needs Improvement) or as numerical scores (e.g., 4, 3, 2, 1) Under mechanics, for example, the rubric might define the lowest level of performance as “7-10 misspellings, grammar, and punctuation errors,” and the highest level as “all words are spelled correctly; your work shows that you understand subject-verb agreement, when to make words possessive, and how to use commas, semicolons and periods.”

•           Rubrics help students and teachers define “quality

•           When students use rubrics regularly to judge their own work, they begin to accept more responsibility for the end product. It cuts down on the “am I done yet?” questions.

•           Rubrics reduce the time teachers spend grading student work and makes it easier for teachers to explain to students why they got the grade they did and what they can do to improve.

•           Parents usually like the rubrics concept once they understand it, and they find rubrics useful when helping with homework. As one teacher says: “They know exactly what their child needs to do to be successful. “Involve your students.

* Understanding a Rubric: Arrange the students into groups of four or more and give them the rubric you will be using for a particular task. Tell the students to discuss the task you have given them and create quick samples of papers which would receive marks in each of the categories. The groups will then present their results to the whole class.

•Creating a Rubric: It is a good idea to involve your students in creating their own rubrics for classroom assignments.

A student who can write the rubric for a maths problem knows the whole process inside and out, and he/she can apply the knowledge and skills learned from the process to future assignments*.

Sometimes it’s not possible to find an appropriate existing rubric to use or modify.

To create your own rubric, follow these steps

1. List the criteria that will be used in assessing performance in the first column.

The criteria you use should be related to the learning outcome(s) that you are assessing. For example, a musical performance might be rated for intonation, rhythmic accuracy, and tone quality and an oral presentation might be rated for content, organization, delivery and language. Be sure that your criteria are explicit. “Neatness” would not be a good criterion because the term “neat” is not explicit enough. What is neatness? You may want to look at some actual examples of student work to see if you have omitted any important criteria.

2. Determine your performance ratings / levels in the first row.

Examples of performance ratings may be* :

•           Descriptors (In Progress, Basic, Proficient, Advanced)

•           Numbers (1,2,3,4)

3. Write a description for each performance level.

the different levels of performance that match each criterion. You may want to  do with the best and worst levels of quality, and then fill in the middle levels based on your knowledge of common problems. It may be helpful to sort examples of actual student work into three piles: the very best, the poorest and those in between.  Try to articulate what makes the good assignments good and the poor assignments poor.

4. After use, evaluate and revise rubric as needed. find herewith the examples of rubrics for your ready  reference.

Give me feed back…

——————————————————————————————————————————————–

the Ajay a student of mine  was in  touch with me  for psychological help that is for counselling as he was preparing for JEE. One week after the results of his exam I received call from him. I asked him whether he cracked the exam or not. To which he replied disappointingly, ” Sir, my luck did not favor me. Despite a lot of hard work, I couldn’t crack the exam.”

I clearly told him that, this was meant to happen as he kept on playing video games, Netflix and used mobile during his entire preparation. He was very easily convinced with a lie that the exams would be postponed due to lock down. I even advised him to utilize that extra time for preparation but he did not heed to my unpleasant advises, rather kept wasting his time.

Result being, when the exams took place even in the epidemic, he was not able to score well and was also not able to clear the exam because he was procrastinating and making a false belief that exams will get postponed. He already knew the truth behind his actions but had convinced himself that it was his bad luck that he did not succeed in the examination.

In fact , YouTube had millions of students watching videos related to exam postponement and merely 1000 views on high quality video related to revisions. Most of the students wanted to hear the news of postponement which is nothing but comforting lie. So most of the students want to listen and believe in comforting lies and run away from unpleasant truths. And this is the reason why most of us are not able to convert our potential into performance.

Preparing for any competitive exam is a long journey and in this journey we face many situations where we have to decide between comforting lies and unpleasant truths. It is this decision which differentiated between Topper and average student. We all know what happened in movie- Munna bhai MBBS, when father of Sanjay Dutt came to know that his son in not a doctor. Munna told lies to his father, that later on broke his heart when he faced reality.

Success is very easy to achieve but at the same time it is not something you will find lying on the road. It demands hardwork and patience. Candidates or aspirants do not want to compromise when it comes to a good lifestyle and enjoyment Everybody wants best of the best. Everybody wants the top Rank. But when it comes to preparation, they get stuck in the delusional advises. In spite of them knowing what is the truth they keep on believing in comforting lies and shying away from Unpleasant truths.

During preparation, you will come across many such people who would try to satisfy your ego by telling you comforting lies rather than telling what you should actually know. People around you would always say things that you want to hear and mask the reality in their lies.

Some Examples of comforting lies vs. unpleasant truths

1. Many coaching/mentors will tell you that you can crack the exams in 3 months but reality is you need minimum of 1 year time to crack these exams.

2.  Good coaching is enough for your success. Many students believe that just by taking admission in coaching their selection is ensured but the reality is unless coaching is backed by self-study nothing would happen. Many students do not believe in self-study.

3.  Many people will even tell you that IIT-JEE/ NEET or competitive exams are not important and will give examples of many people who have done well without clearing IIT- JEE/ NEET but that is not the correct advice. IIT-JEE/ NEET or other competitive exams may not be the only things but it definitely gives you an advantage.

4.  * Most students want to go with the flow and don’t plan as it leads to tension and pressure* but the truth is without plan, you will never achieve success. Some students study at their own pace and at their own will , without any plan and some people might tell you that you are going fine but that is not the correct advise. Remember, if you are failing to plan, you are planning to fail.

5.  People will tell you 2-3 hours of study is enough. But the truth is that most of the students and toppers study 6-8 hours consistently. Hard work is must for cracking these exams. You need consistent hard work of 6-8 hours every day for 1 year.

6. Another lie that you hear is that you can prepare for Mains exam after prelims. But the truth is if you want to crack Mains exam you have to prepare from beginning but in the last one month before Mains focus on Mains to build exam strategy and speed.

7. People will tell you that working in your comfort level is OK and will tell you not to work too hard. On the contrary, hard work and pushing your limits is must.

8.  Many students think that they will crack exam by doing 1 month crash course after boards and many institutes run crash course promising the same but the truth is if you don’t have strong base build over 1 year nothing can happen.

9.  Students think that they are School toppers and their selection is pakka. But they forget that there are 20 Lacs schools and 20 Lac school toppers, whereas only 5000 good seats. So, just being school topper is not enough. Never overestimate yourself and underestimate your competitors.

10.  Students always see the solution without trying their best but unless you learn to struggle with the questions you will not move forward.

11.  Students often spend more time on their strong subjects and run away from difficult subjects. Some teachers even motivate students to focus on 1 subject ignoring others but the truth is all subjects are equally important.

12.  Some students blindly follow Toppers strategy but the truth is if 800 students crack an exam, then there are 800 different ways to crack it. So listen to everyone but follow your own plan.

Different coaching institutes, mentors would also use these lies to serve their agenda. It is very easy to stay inside your delusional bubble and ignore the reality. But when that bubble breaks ultimately, you face the reality and by that time it would be too late. Awakening yourself and facing the reality is crucial while preparing for different competitive exams.

*Remember that Truth might not be very pleasant and attractive but it is the simplest thing. You work hard, study regularly with consistency, follow your plan and implement it in your studies. This is the only way to success. Reality and truth are very simple. The complexity lies in Unpleasant Lies(it has lot of ifs and buts),as you will try to justify your shortcuts, you will seek conformation on those lies from different people and will create a strong belief on those lies.

So make sure that you do not lower the level of your preparation at our Hasti school we guide out styudents the aspirants for the success . your feedback is important

Loosing gracefully is better than being in a false delusion. Do not hear people who encourage you to be in your comfort zone. Come out of your comfort zone, work hard and you will do wonders. Also, stay away from people who will tell you comforting lies and learn to face Unpleasant Truths boldly.

It is a conscious choice we make and our future depends on it.

Structural learning and Reform in HOME WORK

HAST PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE.DODAICHA

BLOG NO 163                                                                                                                                                                                                             It’s a matter of great happiness that Our Hasti school is awarded as the BEST FUTURISTIC SCHOOL IN INDIA & is included in top 50 schools of our country by Edu mirror the international magazine this year on 9th of Oct’ 2022  .This was,  undoubtedly ,   only *because of our visionary chairman Sri Kailas Kantilalji Jain who is the fountain of the innovative ideas and source of inspiration for us. Our school humbly  proclaims that

We do not only prepare children for future but WE PREPARE  FUTURE FOR our  CHILDREN

Our chairman sir  insists  on a structural learning and *emphasizes on learning of basic skills of 21century and arts  which are more  or equally important  for the holistic growth of a child* . We do not give much importance to the marks and just think how much of what we learnt  we are using in our current profession or business. Instead we are successful in our field because of the skills we have mastered. We do not choose doctor or lawyer on the basis of marks only .

So in Pre- primary section in particular  instead of giving load of heavy homework on different subject it is more useful  if we make children learn age proportionate   basic manners , etiquettes  and skills  that is structural learning*

To make my  point of view more explicit , please allow me to share the following

few years ago in England, the pregnant mother of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl fell down the stairs and fainted in front of her.

Without a moment’s delay, this three-year-old boy called the ambulance and his phone not only saved the life of the mother but also the child

.

After calling the ambulance, the girl spoke to them for several minutes  and   before  she  could finish her speaking, the ambulance was already at the door. Even in the world’s most congested city, London, an ambulance arrives an average of eight minutes after an accident.

This incident and courage of this girl was praised all over Britain and because of this phone call, the British government made many reforms in its education system.

The question is not how the girl was able to talk to the ambulance operator,

the question is how did the little girl know to call an ambulance when her mother collapsed ?

*Where from and how  did she  get the ambulance number?

The answer to this question is hidden in the homework…!!!

The three year olds are neither taught ABCD nor given the burden of studies. On the contrary, these young creatures are taught many things of daily life  like how to talk to adults, how to follow the rules of signs when crossing the road , how to wear seatbelt while sitting in car , how to keep their room clean ,  Don’t speak lie And every day parents are told what children are being taught in school.

This is not only told but it is encouraged to discuss while having dinner together at home in the evening so that the children remember well what was taught in school

And this is the homework of these children. Not only this , but school  also  organize and demonstrates  the usefulness of plumbers, electricians, cleaners or garbage collectors, doctors in hospitals, ambulances , fire brigades, even people working in garages in our daily lives

On certain days of the year these people are invited to the school and performed in front of the children.

One such day, there was an ambulance demonstration in this girls’ school, and the children discussed what was taught and shown in the class that day with their parents during dinner with their parents*.

And by remembering that homework, the girl saved the life of her mother and her unborn child.

It was discussed throughout Britain and the British government further reformed its education system to make it more practical and observational.

school plans to invite  garage mechanics  to farmers and their animals to helicopter ambulance doctors to give them practical education and have their homework confirmed by parents over dinner.

Should it not be done  ?

For the last two decades, we have been talking about reducing the burden on the back.

But what about the burden on this child’s mind ?

*Does the school only burden these children with notebooks and homework?

Aren’t parents also responsible for this*?

For my child to go to school he should be able to read and write numbers, kids should know abcd, learn all sports,Why is there all this speculation that he should come to sing some song and play some instrument in the future?

when the age at which children should play in the dirt, climb trees, swim in the river, do fun school activities  we insist and , asking them to participate in plays.  also  learn  harmonium, guitar, tabla classes, forcing him to take math and English classes .

schools everywhere are  seen throwing new projects at those young souls. Today environment, tomorrow, painting, the day after tomorrow computer, new projects are being injected into the child’s mind.at our Hasti school we give freedom to children to learn the skill of their choice and arranges cases only on Sunday for one hour

Parents and teachers do not understand why that young soul is suffering.

A seven-year-old child leaves home at seven in the morning and comes home at seven in the night .

Tired of body and mind, that soul goes to sleep again worrying about the burden of household chores and getting up early in the morning.

Why is our homework always difficult English  and  complicated maths ?

Do these two subjects teach everything in life Where children in Europe-America are good at maths ?  * where children in Japan-Germany can speak  English* ? , where all children in Africa know computer coding  by the age of ten or twelve* .

Are competitions required?

So why is there speculation that our own children should get it all at an early age?

Why is homework always writing and robbing?

Why shouldn’t he discuss it with his parents and grandparents?

Why does the headmaster of the school get upset when four children of a class get less marks in the examination?

Why do they call the parents and complain about the children?

Why do schools think that the children in my school should be ahead of other schools in all subjects, in all sports, in all extra-curricular activities? And because of this insistence, homework is imposed on the children.

Today’s self-educated parents are as much responsible for this as the schools.

This crime of homework is being done on children every day with the connivance of the school and the parents.

Parents get upset if homework is not given for a day, they ask ten people around them to make sure there is no homework today.

We are experimenting with the school curriculum, coming up with new policies, but what about the competition?

Do these kids really need this competition at such a young age?

The insistence of parents that my children play in all subjects, sports in all arts, and the school’s over-ambitious ambition that our schoolchildren be successful in all fields are pushing these young children into a deadly competition.

It’s not too late to make basic non-competitive corrections, or, in the future, the unfortunate mother of a four-and-a-half-year-old who only saw pictures of ambulances on the pages of a book and sat home on a laptop doing coding homework on a shiny floor. But  may not be able to save the life  after tripping. Therefore at our HASTI  FUTURISTIC   SCHOOL WE have structural learning  and plans to  organize Sunday workshops for  children to learn basic the plans on the   cards  will  soon be implemented if parents respond positively

QUALITY TIME

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.JUNIOR COLLEGE, DONDAICHA

BLOG NO *161

Our Hasti school in  PTA meetings and during opn house of  one to one interaction  always  advices  parents to have quality time with their children  as  it is very important for their growth and progress.

we understand that Life is very  busy, especially for parents and families. As time goes our to-do lists become fuller and other priorities seem to take preference  over quality family time. Research shows that it is vital to schedule recurring family time with your children

Quality time is that  time wherein  you give  your undivided attention to your children doing tasks that they like to do.

Spending quality time with your children does not have to be a huge undertaking, it can as simple as taking a few minutes each day to spend together without any distractions

why is quality time with our kids so important?   it is been proved that *Children who are spending more quality time with their families are less likely to participate in risky behaviors such as drug and alcohol usage .

your Love  & your care for your children is the reason for making   them   mentally and emotionally strong. As a parent the best way to do this is to spend quality time with them on a regular basis. Children who spending more quality time with their families are more likely to be physically healthy

Overall, spending quality time with your children is important to them, but is also important to your own well-being.

let us dive deep in to this issue                                                                                                                                                                                             I would like to shar this lovely story of a painter.

When he grew up to become a world-famous painter, in his T.V. interview

He was asked, “How was your childhood?

Did you get lots of paper, pencils, paints as a child? and So did you become a painter?

“His answer is very beautiful.

“My father passed away when I was very young,” he said.Mother used to work. She and I used to live in a hut.

She used to sum up and clean ,with cow dung, the hut every morning while going to work. Then *I would take a piece of charcoal and draw  pictures all over the house all day long.

Mother used to come in the evening. she would look at the pictures with a smile and say, ‘ you have drawn the pictures?’ The next day, the whole hut would be done up again & I use to draw pictures all over again.

She never told me why do you spoil the house everyday?,  I work so hard. I have to do the cleaning , with cow dung, of the whole house everyday. She never edited my pictures. The admiration in her eyes when she said, ‘ have you drawn today the pictures?’ was my inspiration.”

This made me realize what it means to give quality time to children.

Giving quality time means that the child is happy during that time and the parents do not sit on the child’s head but give him freedom,It is a matter of giving your child  the choice of what he/she wanted to do happily.

One more story about my friend.

Her college girlfriend decided to cut off her long hair. The friend said, “I was not opposed to the haircut; But because of or for the sake of braiding and plaiting her hair, we used to be together in peace. We used to have a lot of chats, now everything has stopped!  ”This became another issue of quality time, that parents and children  to take time to relax and sit close, have intimate chats.

The author said , When My daughter was doing her MA in Indology. That is study about the history of Indian art, she used to say to me, “You too come. I will read it to you. You have an interest in all this.”And we used to read her books together. We used to discuss. In my memory  this was our quality time.

Children teach us something, we teach them something and that too not by force, but by real interest, this is the third point of quality time!

When we were in school, we used to go to our  sir in the evening. He used to chat with the people who came to him on so many different topics. We used to listen to them. It felt great! There was a lot of education. Then if they wanted tea in the middle, we would bring tea from inside.

What  beautiful days those were .

Being in the company of people who have reached a certain height, listening to their talk is also quality time. If the person concerned has quality, the (time spent with him from a distance also becomes quality time.

If the parents are constantly teaching something, it is a joyous experience to participate in their efforts. One Kalpana tai says I had a  great love for books and reading. It would be no wonder if my  two daughters did not fall in love with books after seeing and listening to me!

Those mothers and daughter read Rabindranath together. Read many stories, biographies, novels together, they struggled to learn Bengali. Learned to dance. A lot of painting experiments going on all the time. Their hands work cleanly. Does embroidery, painting. & do new things. At the same time, go to children’s institutions (orphanage). Play with them, chat, read books to them. Overall his outlook on life is very rich.

Constantly doing something new, good, useful for the society, building our own platform from it, the time spent with the parents becomes “quality time”.

Why do we like to spend time with certain people? Why do some enjoy company while others do not? Why do children say that parents’ company is ‘boar’ ?

If the parents do not grow up as genuine people, the children and others will get bored in their company*! Quality time does not mean spending a lot of money and providing different kinds of entertainment to children*.So they will know life,  give them experiences that will make them grow.  We should act such that those experiences will become happy memories in their life**.

From the story of the painter, it is clear that he did not need money, It takes love  and understanding for your child. feelings, and respect*. Even if you suffer yourself, you feel happy about it.

If you want to live a quality life, the time you spend consciously is quality time. Of course it will be attacked, something will cause discomfort; But it is necessary to keep our children a little away from it and protect them at a young age.

There are always many things to learn around. This opportunity comes to us for the sake of children. The time we spend with children in meaningful happiness through their studies, their hobbies, their wanderings, interactions with them, *their growth stages is ‘Quality Time.’

If there is a sense of quality in a person’s life, the time with them automatically becomes quality time. But it requires the moisture of emotion along with intellect. Along with happiness, there should be a sense of responsibility. There has to be a feeling of giving back to the society along with the family.

Cultural level of  understanding is needed* and money, education are not the conditions for all this! If nothing else, even a straight, pure mind can accomplish many of these things.

What do children need ?

Love, Freedom, Dignity, Self Appreciation! The painter’s mother gave the same and gave a “quality” to his life.
