STUDENT’S WELLBEING

At our Hasti school the objectives of  *academic excellence and personality development of children is achieved through student’s wellbeing.

The intent of students wellbeing is accomplished by giving exposure to the children to variety of activities. Our Hasti school strongly believes that Students wellbeing underpins every aspect of a student’s schooling, including their learning, engagement and social relationships. Educators of our Hasti school  now understand that wellbeing is a fundamental component of the school experience and is just as important as academic achievement.

Student wellbeing can be broadly defined as a student’s overall development and quality of life. Wellbeing is a holistic term that encompasses all aspects of a student’s life, including their physical, social, mental and emotional state.

A student’s wellbeing can change from day to day, month to month and year to year. It is affected by changes happening inside their bodies and in the world around them.

Wellbeing does not mean students feel good all the time. Emotions such as sadness, fear, anger and frustration are all normal human experiences, and actually help them to learn, grow, stay safe and build meaningful connections with others. Wellbeing means they have the capacity, skills and resources to cope with these emotions in a way that is positive and constructive for their development.

*We at our Hast school  make sincere efforts to make *children learn and develop important skill  namely

RESILIENCE the ability to cope with lifes ups and down and bounce back after difficult experience.

SEL Social and emotional learning  is now widely accepted as a key component of every student’s education. It involves the acquisition of skills students need to develop positive wellbeing, resilience and mental health.

Social and emotional learning helps students to notice, interpret and manage their own emotions, and have empathy for the emotions of others, so they can make responsible decisions, solve problems, cope with challenges, and build positive relationships.

Mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and substance misuse can have a devastating effect on children, young people and their communities. If not addressed early, they can impact on a person’s ability to work, socialise and function throughout their life.

A national survey found that 1 in 7 children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 years were experiencing mental health issues.

Prevention and early intervention approaches are more effective and less expensive than intervening later in life, and are key to enhancing mental health across the lifespan.

Schools play an important role in the prevention and early detection of mental health conditions,

we educators ,parents and all  would agree that the education system should contribute to the development of the ‘whole child ’.

Our Hasti School is not just places for academic learning – it is  place where students can develop vital social, emotional and cognitive skills that will help them function in an ever-changing world.

A student’s social and emotional wellbeing not only influences their learning, but should also be considered an educational goal in and of itself.

students who participated in SEL programs demonstrated significantly improved social and emotional skills, attitudes and behaviour, and academic performance  that  is reflected in our school academic results of public examinations

for well beings of our students we focus on

1. LEADERSHIP

School principals and school leaders  take active steps to create positive learning environments in which students feel safe, respected, connected and included. This includes creating whole-school policies to enhance the wellbeing of students, families and staff.

2.INCLUSION

All school staff play a role in creating a school culture that celebrates diversity and promotes respectful, positive relationships. That includes promoting cultural safety, engaging in regular professional learning and ensuring all members of the school community feel that they belong.

3. STUDENT VOICE

Students should play an active part in decisions that affect their learning and wellbeing. Schools have a responsibility to create inclusive, collaborative and interactive learning environments, and take a strengths-based approach to learning. Active participation also involves teaching students social and emotional skills, so they have the capacity and agency to stay safe and resilient, and seek help from trusted adults when needed. The system of student council ,  Head boy Head girl , house captains , prefect and vice prefect ,debate and brain storming and students seminars make children play an active part in decisions at our HASTI SCHOOL.

4. PARTNERSHIPS

Hasti School  collaborates with families and communities as partners to enhance the learning and wellbeing of all students. This includes developing a shared understanding of what students need, and working collaboratively with community organisations, services and agencies. It also involves fostering an environment of cultural safety. The PTA , different clubs at school , namely Ramanujan club, science club, leisure activity club etc, .brings in effective and purposeful partnership.

Positive relationships are key to student wellbeing. When students feel connected to their peers, teachers and other school staff, they will feel more valued and engaged with their learning, and will be more likely to maintain social and emotional wellbeing. Prima

“when students feel that they are a part of a school community, they are more likely to perform better academically and are more motivated to learn ”.

Therefore at our Hasti school due importance is given to sports.  we have advanced and well equipped sports complex spanning in 4.5 acres of land*  with standardised cours and coaches for sports like snooker, squash,T.T, Basket ball ,lawn tennis, Archery ,fencing and martial arts.   Various other CCA and ECA help to identify students who are most at risk of social exclusion and provide them with the resources and skills they need to build positive connections in their school community.

Parents need to cooperate with school in attempt to see to the students wellbeing.

*Why should you read books?

Like every year our Hasti school had a exhibition of books on the library day to commemorate the birthday of Sri Rangrajan the pioneer of library science in india.

*School always organises variety of  project like 1.DEAR(do every thing away to Read) 2, Family reading 3. Issuing three books for a quarter of month and make children to write the review of the books read while returning the same. 4.organising exhibition of new titles every month end.to motivate students and parents to read .

Students have questions in their mind as

Why should you read  & What did the books teach?

Here is the answer

If you have ten rupees, keep eight rupees for your own expenses. There is a saying that out of the remaining two rupees, buy a rose worth one rupee and a book worth one rupee. A rose will tell you why to live and a book will teach you how to live. Books are very valuable. Marathi literature is an inexhaustible wealth. The more you loot, the more it grows. Even if one Dnyaneshwari is read again and again, each OV gets a new meaning. We Marathi people are really lucky, we have got a great history as well as a great tradition of literature.

When I started reading books, I had not decided what to read. I went on reading whatever came up in the public library and gradually acquired a great treasure of Marathi literature. It started with a book called Papillon. A French criminal named Henri Charrier wrote this book. Henry was known in the criminal world as Papillon. He was not a big criminal. But he was falsely accused of murder and thrown into an infamous prison in French Guiana. There he had to undergo severe imprisonment. He decided to teach those who lied to him a lesson, to follow him from prison and to go back to France. His journey was not easy. Still, he ran with great determination and courage. He wrote all this story himself and Rabindra Gurjar brought it into Marathi. This book taught that difficulties can arise at any time in life and it requires courage, indomitable self-confidence to face them. Struggle comes every step and you have to fight it with determination.

Savarkar’s book ” Mazhi Janmthep ” cannot be forgotten when the subject of courage and indomitable self-confidence comes up. Savarkar was sentenced to two life terms. One was a life sentence of 25 years. That means Savarkar would come out of jail after 50 years. In short, there was no chance of coming out alive. Yet they did not waver after hearing the punishment. He listened to the British government. You will not be able to stay in India for long. So my punishment will end soon. Only they can show such fierce confidence. After going to Andaman’s Cellular Jail, he met a harsh bari, and the physical and mental torture began. One had to do the stew in the given pot. After a small suspicion in his own cell, his smell lingered. Despite such terrible adversity, he dreamed of India’s independence. If we want to learn that we can face difficulties in life and we can overcome them, we must read ‘Maaji Janamthep’. If any adversity comes to our lot, we start to realize that it is nothing compared to what the revolutionaries went through.

There are many examples of books that teach how to live. One of them I read is – Deserter! Gunther Bahnmann was a German soldier. He was assigned to Libya. His father was hanged by Nazi soldiers while he was fighting for Hitler. So he decided to leave the army. His dream was to go to Germany and meet his mother. But his journey was not easy. He could have been killed for running away from the army. However, he continued to evade the Germans and their allies, the Italian army, and finally fell into the hands of the enemy, the British. He learned English while in British captivity and wrote this book.

Vijay Deodhar translated many books. Many of those books are based on adventure. All these books encourage us to be brave. The book ‘Sattar Diwas’ translated by Rabindra Gurjar must also be mentioned. A plane crashes into a remote mountain and the surviving passengers struggle to survive in this book. These travelers cut up and ate the flesh of dead fellow travelers to keep themselves alive in the icy terrain. They were eventually found and rescued. Those who want to commit suicide due to failure in life must read this book to know what it is like to try hard to live. This true story inspires us to survive even the most adverse situations. If you want to know how many people struggle to survive, you should also read the book ‘I need to escape’. Some British soldiers were interned by Russia. The great courage these soldiers did to escape is the subject of this book. After the captivity, these soldiers walked from Russia to India. British ruled here. Realizing that the British would send him back to England after coming to India, he traveled to India on foot, suffering from hunger and fever through very cold regions. He came across the British Army at the Indian border and was sent to England. From this book we can learn that a man sacrifices his life on occasion and overcomes many obstacles to get freedom. We know how precious the freedom we have is. It also shows how much a soldier works for the country.

Many biographies were also written in India. The book ‘Grandmother of London ‘ is one of them. Radhabai Vanarse, a widow living in Vidarbha during the British rule, was suffering from poverty. It was impossible to feed the girls. She got married again and moved to England. Unfortunately the second husband also passed away. Poverty came again. English was not spoken. She was illiterate. Still living in England, she ran a restaurant  and *bought four buildings in London

P.L. Deshpande, Atre, Yashwantrao Chavan went to London, they used to go to her restaurant. Atre praised her and said that because of her, London should also become a part of Maharashtra. This book makes the reader optimistic, inspires to struggle. You can learn from this book that no matter how many difficulties you face, difficulties can be overcome by hard work and success can be achieved.

Some books teach how to live and some books teach why to live. You can laugh at the inconsistencies in life. Deshpande’s books teach and this book shows that the greatest joy in life is to be able to laugh heartily. “If you eat fodder, you will be put in a district jail in a square cap and if you eat lakhs of rupees, you will be made a representative of the people”, his joke still holds true even after many years. “Asami Asami” is still a reflection of the common man. Books by Mr. Mirasdar, Ramesh Mantri are also entertaining. Shna Navare, V.P. Kale tells a lot through short stories. Fine articles by Venkatesh Madgulkar and Ravindra Pinge are very readable. Madgulkar describes his village as Khumasdar. And Pinge has written extensively on his own wanderings. These writings make us look around. Life shows us so much around us. His books teach us to put aside our little problems, daily cries and enjoy it.

Stories, biographies are expressed through many words. But the poem conveys a great meaning in few words. How to be optimistic and positive can be learned from Mangesh Padgaonkar’s last chapter of ‘Ya Janmavar, Ya Jaganavar’. Padgaonkar has written,

I will pinch this soil a thousand times with these lips,

Endure eternal death to live here,

Only the world should float on the pimpal leaf here,

Love this birth, this life forever.

As we live, we endure endless suffering. At times, he even faces death. Yet Padgaonkar writes that just as Lord Krishna floated away from the Pimpal leaf in the flood, this world is also going to float away. When there are many negative events happening around, this optimism gives a lot of lift to the mind. Another thing you need to lift your spirits is to have someone stand by you. One can overcome great difficulties if one only perseveres. This is what Kusumagraja’s poem ‘Kana’ teaches. *A student of his has come to Kusumagraja. His house has been destroyed by flood water. He comes and says,

“Do you recognize me sir?” – Someone came in the rain,

Clothes were dirty, water on hair.

He sat for a moment then smiled and looked up

“Gangamai guest came, went and stayed in the nest”

Flood water entered his house. But without giving a name to that water, he calls it Gangamai and continues.

” Mahervashine danced like a child within the four walls,

How will it go free, but the wife survived.

The wall crumbled, the hearth went out, nothing was taken away,

Put some water on the eyelids as prasad.

Sange Sir is now fighting for the stewardship,

Building a wall, removing mud”

Kusumagraja thought of giving him some money as help. But he rejected it. Kusumagraj writes,

He got up smiling as he went to his pocket,

I don’t want money sir, I felt a little lonely.

*Even if the world is broken, the backbone is not broken.

Put your hands on your back, just say fight*!

This flood affected student is very respectable. He doesn’t want money, just patience from sir. All he wants is to put his hand on Sarani’s back and say fight!! Kusumagraja’s poem is remembered by many for the patience that is needed!

This is the specialty of Marathi books. These books give strength to live. It is as if they are fighting with their hands behind their backs. So should your collection of books. Instead of giving wealth to our next generation, we should give books. Because the generation that got wealth becomes crippled whereas the generation that got books becomes able.

Pablo Neruda’s poem that highlights the importance of books is ,

*If you don’t travel, If you don’t read,

If you don’t listen to the sounds of life, You start dying slowly

How to elevate children’s concentration?

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE , DONDAICHA    *BLOIGNO.141

1.You just hold the book in front of your eyes. Your attention is elsewhere. or  2.You will know only if you concentrate your mind.  etc are very common utterences of worried teachers &  prents  for their  students and their wards                                                                                                                                                                                                 Why do parents feel like this, the main thing is that children have the question of how to concentrate and parents have tension about how to increase the concentration of children.

●Today let’s shed some light on Concentration.

Children’s concentration is not like that of adults, but if the mind is habituated, given training, the concentration span can increase.

 ●The first question is

1) How long is the concentration (Attention span) of children?

How long can children stay focused on something?

The answer is that each child’s concentration depends on that child. Concentration is individual. It is different according to each child. According to neuroscientists, as children grow up, concentration (Attention span) increases.

According to experts,

The average concentration of children according to age is as follows

(average concentration span by age)

Ag attention span

4 years 8 to 10 minutes

5 years 10 to 25 minutes

6 years 12 to 30 minutes

7 years 14 to 35 minutes

8 years 16 to 40 minutes

9 years 18 to 45 minutes

10 years 20 to 50 minutes

11 years 22 to 55 minutes

12 years 24 to 60 minutes

●This is a generalization. It is minimum to maximum attention span. It can increase according to children’s habits. In children with ADHD, learning disability, this attention span is less because it is an attention related disorder. In fact, when children cannot concentrate, it is a problem. Very disturbing for children.

 ● However, concentration is very important for children. It is okay for children to lose focus once or twice, but if a pattern is forming, it is important to take note.

Now let’s see how to increase the concentration span of these children?

1) Divide children’s study time into small chunks.

So that the children will not get bored. Ten minutes of one type of study will be enough for young children. That is, if you don’t want to stop the study, you can take such a sequence that for every ten minutes you can listen, read, write, recite, write down notes or main points, think, draw diagrams. Same in English

(listening, reading, writing, memorizing, notes, thinking, drawing) If there is such variation, the concentration increases gradually.

2)Study meeting for children in big classes is of course more but divide it into small parts. Like 30 minutes. And let them use different study skills. Just reading, writing, reciting can reduce the concentration of children. Variety is very necessary.

3) When done in small parts, the brain gets refreshed. If there is a new method, enthusiasm increases. Baby steps increase the confidence of children. Let’s call it brain break. For this, finding ideas and activities and using them is useful.

4) Children can be fast finishers. Like last time you wrote this in four minutes. Now let’s challenge yourself that you can do it in three minutes.

5) A short break of five minutes is necessary in between while studying. This refreshes the mood of the children.

6) When there is no study, physical activity can be necessary. Having these active games is very beneficial.

7) Give children at least three to ten minutes of mindfulness practice every day.

8) Play memory games.

9) Make sure that the sitting area is comfortable, has enough light and free air.

10) It is definitely beneficial to let the children do the following activities once they understand.

1) Threading the needle.

2) Playing phases of the ball.

3) Counting the sticks in the firebox.

4) Drawing Rangoli

5) Paint a picture

6) Staring at the candle

7) Bungaling of cards.

8) Making a sand castle

9) Making Lego shapes

Be it studies or sports, or any activity, the more practice we give to children, the more useful it will be to increase their concentration.

Finally, note that

Concentration

comes out

of a combination

Of confidence

And hunger.

Like any skill, concentration can be improved and made automatic. The trick is to be consistent. Thesse above  tips to increase concentration power are a win/win solution because they not only help improve concentration but also strengthen the relationship that you have with your child.

Why Offering Your Child The Freedom To Make Mistakes Is Essential ?

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE , DONDAICHA    ,

*BLOIGNO.140

At our Hasti school  we  strongly believe  that In education, learning without experiencing mistakes and failures is almost impossible , ironically our education system is fundamentally based on the idea that everything that is not perfect is a mistake.

At our Hasti School we give freedom to children  make mistakes and we advice to the parents to give this freedom of making mistake to their children  *This may seem like a counterintuitive parenting strategy *, but letting your child make mistakes is one of the best things you can do for them. *Watching your child struggle or fail at something may be difficult, but it’s important to remember that making mistakes is a crucial part of learning and growing.

Imagine someone who is just learning to walk.   *when you learn to walk, you just fall over a lot. There is a lot of ‘failure’ in learning to walk because not being perfect from the start is what any kind of learning is all about .

Learning without the freedom to make mistakes can feel like walking on a tightrope above a shark tank, There is  huge amount of stress, anxiety, fear and mental health issues students experience ..

Is it okay for kids to make any or only specific mistakes ?

Well, it depends on the child’s age, maturity level, and the severity of the mistake. For example, it might not be a good idea to let a very young child play with matches, but it could be okay for an older child to make a small mistake like spilling milk.

Why is it okay for kids to make mistakes?

Here are some of the reasons why it’s essential to let your child make mistakes:

1. It helps them learn from experience.

One of the best ways for kids to learn is through experience. If they’re never allowed to make mistakes, they’ll never have the opportunity to learn from them. Creating and correcting errors is a crucial part of the learning process.

2.It allows them to explore their independence.

Making mistakes is a natural part of becoming independent. As kids grow up, they’ll need to learn how to make decisions on their own. If you’re always there to catch them when they fall, they may never know how to stand on their own two feet.

3. It builds their character.

Making and then owning up to their mistakes can be a valuable character-building experience for kids. It teaches them responsibility, accountability, and how to deal with the consequences of their actions.

4. It helps them develop a growth mindset.

Creating a “growth mindset” in kids—the belief that their intelligence and abilities can be developed through effort, good teaching, and perseverance—is one of the best things you can do to succeed in school and life. Allowing them to struggle with new challenges and make mistakes is one way to help them develop this mindset.

5. It shows them that you trust them.

When you allow your kids to make mistakes and take risks, it sends the message that you trust them to handle whatever comes their way. This builds their confidence and self-esteem, which will help them in all areas of their life.

The takeaway is this: we should allow our children to make mistakes. Of course, some boundaries and lines shouldn’t be crossed, but allowing them to explore and learn from their own experiences is integral to helping them grow into successful adults.

MATHEMATICS PHOBIA

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE,DONDAICHA

BLOG NUMBER 133

The subject of mathematics makes man orderly, mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos. Some of the qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are :-* Reasoning power*, creativity, abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem solving ability and even effective communication skills.

Maths is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move even an inch. Whether it is cook or farmer, carpenter or mechanic, shopkeeper or doctor, engineer or scientist, musician or magician, everyone needs maths in their daily life. Even insects (INSECTS) also use maths in their daily life for their survival.

Snails make their shells, spiders make their webs, and bees make hexagonal honey combs. There are countless examples of mathematical patterns in the fabric of nature.

Any person can be a mathematician if he is given proper guidance and training in the early period of his life. But Mathematics, for many students, is no less furious than a demon. Many students fall asleep as soon as they open a math book. His score in maths is very low. They just stop saying that they can’t do it*.

Unfortunately, *avoidance of maths leads to low aptitude*, resulting in math phobia.

Math phobia can be a feeling of stress, apprehension, or fear that interferes with math performance. A person with math phobia does not necessarily lack ability in math; Instead, he/she may not perform to his/her full potential for the intervening symptoms of anxiety.

Math phobia, for some researchers, is not derived from personal experience but from parents and teachers. When parents with high math anxiety try to help their children with their homework, they unintentionally express the idea that math is difficult and anxiety-provoking.

Teachers expect a definite answer from the students and at some point of time this rigidity is so high that the students have no freedom to express in their own way.

A very important factor in motivating children to study mathematics is that the teacher remains positive and enthusiastic about mathematics.

Teachers should not present mathematics as an intractable, difficult subject because it is not.

It should be shown to the children that maths is a creative subject.

Learning maths is almost like learning music or art, as compared to learning history or biology.

The fundamentals of math never change, but the way we solve math problems presents tons of variability!

For example, basic math such as estimating prices when shopping, fractions in cooking, decimals in financial transactions and measuring skills in sewing or woodworking are very essential in a lifestyle. Therefore the teaching of mathematics should be accompanied by experiences of everyday life.

Everyone is capable of learning, but this ability depends on different methods of math, for example, through acting, cooperative groups, visual aids, hands-on activities, and technology.

The first thing students need to know is the symptoms of math phobia. There are four common symptoms of math phobia: nervousness, paranoia, passive behavior, and lack of confidence.

Once a student knows that s/he has math phobia he/she has to accept it. Having a math phobia in itself doesn’t make one bad people

Changing the way you study maths can change the attitude towards it. Simply memorizing a formula is not as effective as knowing what the formula means and knowing when to use it.

Students should read the textbook thoroughly and write questions to ask later in class.

Working with a study group can sometimes help to understand the subject better than doing everything alone.

Peer learning is more helpful for students especially those who suffer from math phobia.

Positive reinforcement is a great way to help a child overcome math phobia. Instead of being negative when something was wrong, parents should discuss the problems with them and emphasize the aspects that they were right. Point out the skills they have mastered and remain positive about those that still require some work.

To help a child struggling with math, a parent needs to know how it is being taught in his or her classroom. Some parents come in regular contact with the teacher and discuss their children’s problems. Those kids definitely do better.

Parents should avoid making statements around their children that may give them the impression that parents are comparing them to their classmates or siblings.

Lastly, there are many people who achieved success in life without mastering mathematics. So being too paranoid about math scores is pretty much baseless. A patient, positive and supportive attitude towards children can help overcome math phobia.

*At our Hasti school we are insisting on using following techniques to make study of mathematics more interesting *

1.         Math games …

2.         Visual aids and picture books …

3.         Using modern technology. …

4.         Take a hands-on approach. …

5.         Encourage communication with students and parents. …

6.         Focus on  students. …

7.         Stick to fixed routines. …

8.         Use real objects.

9.         Riddle and  out of box questions

In addition to above we are shifting to Project Base learning where do and learn will be on center stage and this will eliminate the maths phobia..

Only positive Discipline

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE,DONDAICHA

BLOG NUMBER 129

WE, at our Hasti school,  believe in not administering corporal & or any type of punishment to the students for their  misbehaviours.  we channelise their energy in right direction to make them self-disciplined individuals. Teachers at our school are getting trained for using new techniques of positive discipline.

Positive discipline allows students to learn and adapt their behaviours to meet expectations in the classroom, while simultaneously teaching them how to make better choices in their path to adulthood.

If a student misbehaves in the classroom, a teachers have a few techniques that they can use to reduce or eliminate the unwanted behavior.

From misbehaving in the classroom to not doing the assigned work, there are many ways to deal with unwanted behavior.

whatever technique is used to prevent ,reduce or correct the misbehavior ,will only be effective if:

•           Both the student and teacher understand what the problem behavior is and what the expected consequence is for the misbehavior

•           The appropriate consequence is consistently applied every time the misbehavior occurs

•           The manner you deliver the technique matters (calm versus aggressive)

•           It gives the students a reason for a specific consequence to help them learn

In most cases, using punishment or rewards is not needed, as the majority of problems or misbehaviors can be dealt with using positive discipline

Every adult who cares for children has a responsibility to guide, correct and socialize children toward appropriate behaviors. These actions often are called child guidance and discipline. Positive guidance and discipline are crucial for children because they promote self-control, teach responsibility and help them make thoughtful choices. The more effective adult caregivers are at encouraging appropriate child behavior, the less time and effort they will spend correcting misbehavior. Family specialists agree that using physical force, threats and put-downs can interfere with a child’s healthy development.

Positive discipline is the practice of training or teaching a student to obey the code of behavior or rules in both the short and long term. Instead of controlling the behavior of students, teachers can use positive discipline to develop a child’s behaviors through self-control and making positive choices.

preventative ,supportive,

corrective & constructive approaches  create a positive school atmosphere and also teaches students conflict resolution and behavior skills. In the end, positive discipline can help shape a child, by using encouragement rather than meaningless and even painful consequences, like punishment.

*There are many techniques that teachers  use to reinforce good behavior with positive discipline, including:

1.         Set the classroom rules at the start of the year

2.         Have consistent expectations

3.         Set goals at the beginning of class

4.         Appropriate behavior should be reinforced

5.         Remain neutral during conflicts

6.         Search for the root cause of the misbehaviour

7.         Student dignity matters

8.         Create individual plans for students

9.         Use Praise

10.Model appropriate behaviours

       11.Provide students with different choices

12.Remove objects in the environment that cause

            distractions

        13.Listen to students

In fact, when addressing a specific child, it is important for teachers to work closely with the caregivers and the student to develop a positive discipline plan that works. One of the most critical parts of positive discipline is to help students learn the new behaviors that meet expectations in the classroom, home and elsewhere.

Using Rewards and Privileges

Another alternative to punishment and positive discipline is the use of rewards and privileges for good behavior in the classroom.

*Using positive discipline techniques can help teachers and parents overcome the many challenges in the classroom and at home as well .It helps children and students to  learn and make better choices in the future. In fact, using positive discipline in the classroom and at home  not only increases academic success but provides many other benefits, including:

•           Students show respect for the teacher and parents

•           Students are on task and engaged

•           Less disciplinary measures are needed

•           Fewer suspension and expulsions

•           Students see rules as fair

•           Attendance improves

These are just a few of the benefits that can be seen from using positive discipline techniques in the  class room. On top of this, the benefits also extend beyond the classroom, into the home life.  *Every adult who cares for children has a responsibility to guide, correct and socialize them toward appropriate behaviors.

Sports and social environment around have impect on the discipline of the student.
