SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN CLASS ROOMS

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDICHA*

BLOG NO.215

Our chairman sir Hon’ble kailasji jain always advocates and supports that “We all have an obligation as citizens of this earth to leave the world a healthier, cleaner, and better place for our children and future generations”

Therefore at Hasti Public school Dondaicha  we  always focus on what are we going to pass on to the next generation.

As teachers, we have a great responsibility: to try to improve the world around us and make it a better place for future generations. By encouraging our students to analyze and understand the importance of acting in a fair and sustainable way.

We often ask ourselves what kind of world we are going to leave to new generations, but perhaps the question should be what kind of people we are going to leave to our world*? Making this world a better place is in their hands.

At our Hasti school working  with the SDGs allows us to approach our classes in a different way. For example, it *allows us to focus more on student competencies.

The focus of learning about the SDGs is not on memorizing statistics or concepts, but on reflecting and thinking critically.

Likewise, the curriculum becomes more transversal. We plan to  work on different topics in an interdisciplinary way and connect them with other areas of study in the curriculum. *For example, when working on SDG 12: Responsible production and consumption, we  propose a project in which students to carry out different activities such as:

•           analyzing and comparing the impact of various products through life cycle analysis,

•           calculating the individual and school ecological footprint,

•           organizing and designing an awareness campaign, and creating digital or physical promotional material to be distributed in the school.

This way they’ll work on knowledge and skills from different subjects. We’ll be able to implement active methodologies such as Project-Based Learning (PBL) and, by doing so, we create learning situations that invite children to reflect, interact, and find solutions to real problems. And, at the same time, we will be enhancing other knowledge not only related to the SDGs*, but also to other areas or subjects.

In the end, it’s about putting our learning to work to bring about positive change in our environment. Because *learning about the SDGs and their impact goes beyond learning concepts and ideas. learning about SDGs means activating collaborative and supportive attitudes. This is how students develop valuable skills for their personal and professional development while doing their bit for a better world.

When it comes to learning about the SDGs in our classes, we think and propose to  act  the most effective way  that is to work on them through real and authentic situations. To achieve this, we work on some guidelines ;(to help awaken their motivation and get them involved from the word go).

Emotions are a good place to start a session

For our class to get really engaged with the SDGs? * we propose to Start with content that stirs their emotions, moves them, and highlights the importance of taking action*  One of the most effective ways to move people is through storytelling.

First we need to  choose the SDG you want to work on, ( see the list of 17 SDGs given at the end as recapitulation task) then come up with a short story and characters, and bring them to life*. Let them tell their story and the problems they face. To do this, you can use a breakout like this one, which we think is great

for SDG 15: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss

we need to  start with something simpler that shows the impact of human behavior on society and the planet at a glance, using a flashcard  we propose to use it  to work on SDG 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

We need to Choose two images of the same place: one that illustrates what the place looked like in the past, and one that shows what the place looks like now, after being industrialized. Let your class look at and analyze the images and debate on this .

Learn through research

We propose to Use a visual resource like a timeline. This one is perfect for working on SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts. They can refer to the information as many times as they need.

In SDG 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources for sustainable development. We Create real materials and encourage them  to share their work with the world around

There are 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) to transform our world;

•           Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms.;

•           Goal 2: Zero Hunger.

•           Goal 3: Health.

•           Goal 4: Education.

•           Goal 5: Gender equality and women’s empowerment.

•           Goal 6: Water and Sanitation.

•           GOAL 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

•           GOAL 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth

•           GOAL 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

•           GOAL 10: Reduced Inequality

•           GOAL 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

•           GOAL 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

•           GOAL 13: Climate Action

•           GOAL 14: Life Below Water

•           GOAL 15: Life on Land

•           GOAL 16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions

•           GOAL 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goal

Now after having worked on the SDGs with our classes , it’s always good  to reinforce what you’ve learned with a thematic quiz  we propose to Prepare  17 questions (one for each goal), students can discuss each answer as a group and test their knowledge while having fun.                                                                                                                                                                            *       *YOUR FEED BACK  ,suggestions, remarks & ,ideas for modification , will enhance the  reading value  .you may suggest different activities for incorporating SDGs in our school curriculuim *. please  do visit our web site *

Emotional Regulation –

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDICHA

BLOG NO.215

An Important Skill to Acquire for Kids

Emotional regulation is the ability to understand and manage one’s emotions in a healthy way.

When kids are able to regulate their emotions, it means that they’re better equipped to handle difficult situations. They can bounce back from setbacks easier

While it’s certainly important for kids to learn academic, social, and other skills as they grow up, developing their emotional regulation abilities is equally crucial. Emotional regulation can impact a child’s physical health and mental well-being. It can also affect problem-solving skills, relationships with others, and overall success in life.

By learning how to better regulate emotions at an early age, kids are more likely to have better mental health, a strong support system, and greater self-confidence. Emotional regulation can also help them to better manage stress and anxiety, set appropriate boundaries with others, handle challenging situations more effectively, and develop empathy towards others.

Emotions separate humans from the rest of the living world. Our unique ability to express feelings, reactions, and emotions to external stimuli of the surroundings makes us individually unique and outstanding as a species. Children are the least socially conditioned individuals and express their emotions without any bounds. However, a little too much of anything can be harmful, even if it is a good thing like emotions.

For instance – How would you interpret the cranky behavior of your kid or the extreme inflexibilities he/she shows when asked to finish the bowl of cereal every morning? All these reactions are expressions of emotions as well. But, all these do not contribute to the overall growing up process of the children. Hence, controlled emotions are what ultimately shape the foundation of a strong character.

At HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL , ranked among the Top  Schools in the region , we believe that every child is born with the extraordinary talent of expressing emotions in unique ways. And the parents hold the crucial responsibility of steering their kid’s spirits and intensities in the right way.

Regulated emotions can help the children learn several essential life skills that would further aid them in the future in their career life, social life, and personal life as well. Emotional regulation comprises one of the most important skills for children to possess.

Help them learn and accept things in a healthy way

Both the joy of success and the pain of failure are different forms of expression. While one can be an ecstatic feeling, the other one can be a depressing one. However, learning not to become complacent when you get a victory and not giving up when you face a failure is what controlled emotions teach kids.

Any form of emotion is basically a flow of energy, and expressing your feelings in wild ways can be wasting your energy for nothing.

Feeling happy for success is absolutely healthy, but becoming overconfident or arrogant upon winning are the perils that uncontrolled emotions fetch in. Teach your kids the art of taming their emotions, and they would know the ways to navigate their energy constructively.

Aids in the development of emotional intelligence

Emotional intelligence is one of the primary aspects of the overall mental development of young minds. At HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL , we understand that emotions can define the success and failure of any child in the long run. We have seen that children capable of controlling sudden outbursts of emotions are more likely to be patient, understanding, flexible, accepting, and positive.

The presence of qualities like perseverance, tolerance, compassion, empathy defines the very emotional character of a person. Instilling the power to tame emotions in your kids would eventually turn them into self-controlled individuals who would not get swayed by storms of emotions at random.

Teaches kids to manage their relationships more efficiently

Throughout our lives, we sail through modulating tides of emotions attached to various forms of relationships. When children learn to regulate their emotions appropriately, they are more likely to grow up with great skills for handling the bumpy roads of relationships more efficiently. Therefore, even for maintaining social relationships, managing emotions remains critical.

Hence, seeing emotions in the right light is what you need to teach your children early. Make your kids aware of the immense potential that emotions and the way we respond to experiences and things around us hold. This will help them mature into individuals capable of self-regulation, which indeed is a quality the world admires. *Besides, we, at HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL , can also vouch for the fact that emotional regulation guarantees a healthy parent-child relationship as well.

Brings about an improvement in the academic performance of kids

Honing the skills of managing emotions means keeping every variety of emotions under control. Hence, be it the pre-exam anxiety or the preparation time stress, self-regulation can help kids in many ways to reach their goals. This shows that for the overall improvement in academic performance of children, controlled emotions can help pave the first step on the path.

At HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL , we firmly believe that emotions can be a firm pillar for character development if regulated appropriately*.

Emotions are much like an enormous force that needs the right direction to help the young minds grow. Hence, make sure to teach your kids the value of emotions and the right way to express them, and it will empower them to practice self-regulation more appropriately and efficiently.

AT OUR HASTI SCHOOL WE UNDERSTAND THAT Being able to identify and understand feelings are the first steps to regulating emotions, open_in_new an ability that children will continue to develop throughout their lives.

Emotional regulation helps kids develop independence, self-discipline, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

PHRASES THAT SHOULD BE BEST AVOIDED WHILE COMMUNICATING WITH  YOUR KIDS/ CHILDREN

PHRASES THAT SHOULD BE BEST AVOIDED WHILE COMMUNICATING WITH  YOUR KIDS/ CHILDREN

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Newton’s third law does not only apply to actions, it also applies to words.

Key to any healthy relationship is good and clear communication. But what we usually forget is that talking and communicating are two different things. Communicating means saying something in a way that the listener understands it the way we meant it. It’s not just what we say, how we say it makes a lot of difference in the way it is perceived.

One of the most important experiences that you as parents can provide for your children is to have good communication with them. After all, it is your daily interaction with your kids that forms the basic foundation for a close-knit bond between you and your little ones.

It is a known fact that children observe and learn a lot from their parents. As such, they not just take note of your actions but also your words! This means that the things you say to them matter a lot.

The words and phrases that you use when speaking to children are keenly observed by them. And this plays an important role in shaping the beliefs of those young minds. What you may say to them not just reflects your beliefs but also impacts the beliefs they develop.

So today, we, at The HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA, one of the best schools IN THE REGION , will be shedding light on some of the phrases that though most of you must be commonly using in your day-to-day conversations with your children, should ideally be best avoided. Read on.

Stop crying!:Children generally cry when they do something wrong and know that they will be punished or even when they are scared or hurt. Like any other human being, they have the right to show their emotions. Parents should not force their child to stop crying by screaming out “stop crying immediately”. Children learn from every single action of ours, even if they don’t realize it. By saying this phrase, you are essentially telling your child to not to show their emotions, something they may hold on to forever. Instead make them understand that its good to process emotions and express them and why they should stop crying.

•

Why didn’t you get an A grade?”

One of the most common yet the most toxic phrases, that is generally an outcome of the heat of the moment. Yes, we understand that being their parents, you always want your kids to succeed in life. And academics surely lay the foundation for that. However, the undue pressure that builds on them for achieving this often gets ignored. At OUR HASTI SCHOOL , *we believe that as long as your child is making their best efforts and improvements, it should be fine. You can always look for areas to improve the next time but avoid putting too much stress on children as it impacts them emotionally as well as psychologically*.

You are worthless/an idiot: This is probably the worst thing to say to your child. Your child looks to you for your approval in whatever they do. By saying this, you are killing their self-confidence and making them reliant on the outside world for approval for all their actions. As parents, our job is to encourage our children to be better human beings. It is imperative that we teach our children to look inside themselves for approval. Instead of using this phrase, try something that says this time you did not do so well but you can do better next time.

“Your sister/brother did it so nicely. Why can’t you be like him/her?”

Another toxic phrase that parents use when talking to children is comparing them with their siblings, friends, and every other child around them. While you may have said it very casually, it impacts them very deeply from a very young age, and they begin to develop resentment. While comparison is bad for adults too, it should definitely be avoided when talking with children. At OUR HASTI  School, we firmly believe that each child is a unique blessing that should be appreciated and should not be compared with others. We should instead embrace their individuality and try to polish their unique talents and knacks.

You are not allowed to do this before you finish doing that: By saying this, you are teaching your child that toys, dessert, or play, are rewards for doing chores like eating dinner or finishing their homework. This will increase the importance of the reward and diminish that of chores, dinner and homework; exactly opposite of what you want to accomplish. Changing the words you use even a little bit, can have a far more positive impact.

Don’t make me ground you: Sometimes children do something that they need to be punished for. Punishments that match the crime are important to teach children that actions have consequences. So next time your children are squabbling in the back seat while on the way to a family vacation and you tell them that if they don’t stop it immediately you will turn around the car; Do It! Don’t say something that you won’t do. If you tell your child that they are grounded and won’t be allowed to go out of the house to see their friends, stick to it. Follow through. If you can’t follow through, then don’t say it

“Why are you always lost in your dreams? Be practical!

Most children dream big and are really excited about it. Even if they do not seem possible due to any reason, you should encourage your kids without crushing their dreams with toxic words. *Using such negative words will only demotivate them and make them lose interest. Instead, support them with the right empowering words and a positive environment to work towards their dreams.

“Get aside. Let me do it for you!”

When you see your child struggling with an activity, it is a natural instinct being a parent to help them out. However, doing so frequently can make your child less independent as they will always be looking for you to help. So, instead of directly jumping to help them, you can guide them or provide them suggestions that will help them to solve the problem. This will help them grow into responsible and independent individuals.

APART FROM Listed above there are many more  phrases that are commonly used while communicating with children. Although you may be saying some of these phrases very regularly, or they might not appear harmful as such, however, the fact is that your words influence your children a lot! While positive communication can help instill confidence in them, negative words can make them grow with a loser mindset.

It is hence very much important that you, being their parents and role models, mindfully avoid using such phrases and pay close attention on your language to communicate effectively with your children.

At our Hasti School, ranked among the best schools in the region , we firmly believe that it is very much important for the parents to be open to listening to their children with an open mind.

You need to keep in mind that those little eyes are always watching you. So, why not try and keep a watch on your language closely ?

It would not only help you build a better communication channel with your kids but also help lay the path for their rightful development!

Your feedback and additional innovative ideas to prepare children to tackle failure are welcome. Do write your comments.

METHODS TO IMPROVE ACADEMICS

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDICHA

BLOG NO.213

AT OUR HASTI SCHOOL

Every child is different. Children of every age are different, their thought process and academic needs are different. We understand this and we deliberate on this issue at different levels.

In our HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL  concept, we have introduced different methodologies for primary and secondary divisions.

*Through various interactive technologies and traditional media we make the teaching interesting. *And  only teaching is not enough, learning  is vital . we have various assessment techniques to assess our students’ ability on various grounds and not only on  marks.

OUR IDEOLOGIES   inevitably influence the development of the curriculum  , but at the same time are themselves influenced by the prevailing social  ideologies.

Key feature of our HASTI SCHOOL’S IDEOLOGIES

•           Understanding of students’ interest and scope of development

•           Counseling from qualified psychiatrists, doctors and educationists

•           Play – education System

•           Sports, cultural and skill development programs

•           Robotics

•           Addressing Health program for students

•           Well Equipped campus

•           Sports Complex

•           *Special clubs and workshops for  Students , teachers and parents

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

Curriculum is a standards-based sequence of planned experiences where students practice and achieve proficiency in content and applied learning skills

Curriculum is the central guide for  we all educators at our Hasti public school , one of the top ranked school in the Khandesh region  as to *what is essential for teaching and learning, so that every student has access to rigorous academic experiences.

Curriculum is organized into three main sections:

1.         Program Planning (general information)

2.         Curriculum Context (information for specific curriculum)

3.         Curriculum Expectations (what students learn) and Teacher Supports (how students might learn).

Curriculum is written primarily for teachers and educators, so

Program Planning

*Program Planning information applies to the curriculum in all subjects and disciplines in Grades 1 to 12.  It provides the most up-to-date information on policy governing education in  schools . For example, it includes information regarding the creation of safe, accepting and inclusive classrooms.

Educators are guided by Program Planning information as they:

•           develop lessons and programs based on the curriculum and

•           create the classroom and school environments in which the lessons and programs are taught.

Curriculum Context

Each curriculum has a section that supports the teaching of the specific subjects. This section often includes the vision and goals for the curriculum. It also has information that guides educators as they develop lessons and programs. n.

Curriculum Expectations and Teacher Supports

The curriculum combines the curriculum expectations (what students learn) with teacher supports (how students might learn) while giving teachers the flexibility to choose appropriate resources and teaching strategies.

Curriculum

Teacher Supports

Curriculum expectations are often accompanied by optional “teacher supports” that give  tools, examples and resources related to specific learning goals.

Teacher supports may include examples and other teaching resources. These show how students may achieve the learning outlined in the curriculum expectations.

STRUCTURE OF OUR CURRICULUM

Primary school years are the crucial years that lay a foundation to a life-long journey of learning, hence aptly called as the Early Years Foundation Stage

The curriculum focuses on play-way method with the epicenter being the key areas of learning: physical, personal, social and emotional development; literacy skills; numeracy skills;

understanding the world through enquiry; and expressions through art, music and dance

The curriculum provides a balance of daily teacher-directed activities and child-directed activities that make learning fun.

Primary Curriculum

Our Core Curriculum

We follow four guiding principles for curriculum development:

•           Connecting knowledge to life outside the school.

•           Ensuring that learning shifts away from rote methods.

•           Enriching the curriculum so it goes beyond text books.

•           Making examinations more flexible and integrating them with classroom life.

Children at our  HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA  learn and develop through:

•           A number of informal methods like activities, projects, presentations and hands-on experiences, apart from formal learning;

•           Activities like free play, dramatization, enacting through puppets, singing, dancing, cooking, art, and so on;

•           Outdoor and indoor play and games;

•           Sharing ideas with other children and discovering facts for themselves through observation and reference work; exhibitions

•           Exciting experiential learning opportunities through field trips which are planned for specific educational purposes;

WHAT AND WHY OF  STEM EDUCATION

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDiCHA

BLOG NO.212

When life challenges you, it surely doesn’t test your abilities to do maths, physics, chemistry, etc individually. Instead, it tests your abilities to handle the situation using the teachings of these subjects; the theoretical base with the practicality of life. This is where STEM education establishes its firm foot in the field of education to help the 21st-century population sail through life.

With the rapid change in market trends and the nature of desirable skills in the workforce, the education sector has introduced STEM education, an acronym for well-known terms– Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

The term STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) was first coined by Charles E. Vela, the founder and director of the Centre for the Advancement of Hispanics in Science and Engineering Education. STEM is an approach to education, which not just focuses on the cited disciplines, but also caters to developing critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities in children. It fosters creativity and prepares children with not just theoretical know-how but rather the real-world application of the aforementioned subjects. No wonder, STEM is often regarded as the key to success in the current times.

So today, we, at HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA, one of the leading schools in THE KHANDESH REGION will shed more light on the topic and explain how STEM education presents children with a whole lot of benefits.

Importance Of STEM Education in the 21st Century:

With STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), it is not the teaching of one subject but rather the amalgamation of all four subjects as a comprehensive one through an interdisciplinary curriculum. This helps students to deal with real-world situations and apply their learnings to create, innovate and discover new things. Also, it has been proven that students who adopt the STEM learning approach have better possibilities of getting placed at good companies, achieving the goals of their life contributing to the environment, etc.

Benefits of STEM Education:

As we read above that stem education is quite important these days and has many benefits let’s take a look:

1. Enhance Critical Thinking

STEM education is a very important aspect of student’s life as it teaches them to solve problems effectively. Students who are accustomed to STEM education at an early age learn to analyze challenges and are able to develop strategies to tackle them.

2. Motivates Experimenting

In the last couple of decades, it has been noticed that STEM education provides a healthy environment and encourages students to try new things. Children who are part of STEM education learn the importance of failure and how to tackle it without getting affected.

3. Teamwork

STEM education is best for team-building activities and it helps students from every level to work together. They come together and find solutions to the problem discuss with each other, record data, give presentations, write reports, etc. In the end, they come to know the importance of working with each other and, flourish in a complete team-building environment.

4. Boosts Curiosity

All STEM disciplines encompass “questioning” by students at every level. Be it Science or Math, we get to hear a lot of ‘what ifs’ and ‘hows’ from students to dig deeper into the subject. This inquisitiveness aroused by the STEM subjects helps keep their imaginative curiosity and innovation instinct alive.

This is one of the most vital features of STEM education. Students who are made habitual of this type of education since childhood, develop curiosity and innovation as their regular habits. This type of education enhances the critical way of thinking and empowers them to ask questions.

5. Enhances Problem Solving Skills

With the enhancement of critical thinking, students also learn problem-solving skills. By adapting STEM education from an early age children learn the ways of examining problems. Children can also create amazing plans to solve problems. Also, it helps students to look at the bigger picture and not from the smaller aspect.

Objectives Of STEM Education:

FOLLOWING are the  objectives of STEM education, take a look:

1. Meeting Demand For Highly Skilled Professionals

To stay afloat in the market, companies hire the best talent pool to help them stay competitive and relevant. People with 21st-century skills as well as STEM skills are the most sought-after. According to many researchers, there is a rise in professions that require STEM skills.

2. Skill Development

Living in the digital age it is pertinent to say that technology has become an integral part of living therefore the students skilled in digital technology are going to be beneficial. Having faced the coronavirus lockdown almost every student was forced to switch to online platforms to impart knowledge. STEM education also helps students develop skills like critical thinking, creative thinking, digital literacy, spatial reasoning, etc.

3. Helps To Create Equality

There is no gender of subjects. However, people attach genders to subjects as well as to occupations. Girls along with boys can then develop 21st-century skills and increase their employability rate. Furthermore, providing equal opportunities for each student towards exploring technologies through an integrated and interdisciplinary educational approach will take the world to the next level.

Components of STEM Education :

Attentive Learning

Learning attentively is quite a vital component of STEM education as it encourages students to think deeply and create a few assumptions in order to memorize things properly.

Personalized System of Learning

In this, there are various methods of learning such as the shift method which is provided by the instructor in this the students have a choice of learning things at their pace, choosing subjects according to their choice, and giving exams accordingly.

Problem-Based Learning(PBL)

This is a simple way in which students collect various data from the things they come across in their daily life and analyze it. They can come up with different solutions by applying scientific, mathematical, or technological approaches.

Pros and Cons of STEM Education:

Here are some of the prominent pros and cons of STEM education listed below:

Pros of STEM Education:

इसलिए, संक्षेप में हम इसे इस प्रकार रख सकते हैं;

PREPARING CHILDREN FOR FAILURE AS VITAL AS PREEPING UP FOR SUCCESS

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDiCHA

BLOG NO.211

If we ask you, what would you choose for your kids among success or failure, the obvious answer would be success.  After all, who would wish for failure for the apple of their eyes!

Every parent wants their child to be successful, to do that best they can in everything they do.

Parents push their children to get straight A’s, all while maintaining a social life, extracurricular activities, and working towards their future.

Not only is the pressure to succeed hard on children, but parents often become too involved in their children’s life to let them fail, which may seem like a good thing, but isn’t. Failure helps to build character and allows people to learn from their mistakes. Teaching your child that failure is bad, is more harmful than letting them fail.

Teaching your child that failure is okay may be difficult to do, but this can help them to understand that mistakes can help them to succeed. However, teaching your child to fail must be done right, you want to make sure they know that failure only means that can learn from their mistakes, not give up. This is why we At our HASTI PUBLIC SCGIIK  teach our children about failing because we want them to learn and grow from it, not quit because of it.

While you may not want your child to fail at all, eventually they will, and when they do it is important for them to know that from failure comes success.

Many people who were taught that failure is a bad thing may have been successful for so long, but everyone fails eventually, and the difference is what you do with that failure.

People who are scared to fail may give up more easily out of the fear of failing again. For this reason, it is important to teach our children to fail and to come back from their failures.

Your child’s success is important, but helping them develop the right mindset about failure and hard work can help them to reach success and be more confident when they do fail. At Hasti public school ,Dondaicha , we want our students to succeed just as much as you do, and we maintain a 100 percent ability to complete their course . We work hard to help our students succeed and offer  prep for our  school students, allowing them to properly prepare for their future.

There are certain precautions we take when teaching  children about failure. We Help  them to have the right mindset about their abilities we  help them to overcome failure and become successful* As a parent you may teach your child about failure and you can  help them to perceive failure as a learning opportunity.

Parents Mindset

The truth of the matter is that parents have a huge impact on the way their children view the world and their mindset on different matters.

An NPR( Natural product report) article takes a deeper look at a parent’s effect on their children. In this article, they mention that children who view their abilities as something that can change overtime handle obstacles, such as failure, in more constructive ways. Parents can help kids to develop this mindset.

The way parents react to their children’s failures and mistakes can alter the way the kids view their abilities and intelligence. The NPR article quotes Kyla Haimovitz, a professor of psychology at Stanford University. Haimovitz says that parents need to react in certain ways to help their children develop this mindset, that abilities can be improved with hard work and to not give up.

If your child comes home with a bad grade on a test, the way you react could change the way your child thinks. Saying something that implies they are better in other subject and reassuring them that they still have talent in other areas may seem like a good response*

,

Haimovitz and her colleague, Carol Dweck, conducts studies to see how a parent’s view on failure changed the cay the children feel about their abilities and intelligence.”

After surveying parents about their feelings towards their children coming home with a failing quiz grade, they found that parents who saw failure as an opportunity believed their children could still improve in the subject

Dealing With Failure

After you realize that your perception on failure matters to your child’s beliefs, it will be easier for you to help them deal with failure. Your child will fail at something eventually, everyone does, but the way you help them deal with it is what is important.

Using Failure As An Opportunity

Teach your child to try again. Giving up will never help them reach success and trying again may be scary, especially after failing, but it is important. Teach them that perseverance can help them to reach their goals and be successful. If your child is having a hard time using their failure as an opportunity, share these quotes with them from Forbes, from very successful people, who have all failed before.

Failing is the best learning experience we can get. It teaches us what not to do, allows us to think about what to do differently, and helps us build character.

If your child gives up after failing, they will never learn the importance of perseverance and they will quit every time they run into a complication.

Whether your child fails a test or loses a game, teaching them that they can improve and do better next time can help them to not feel completely defeated. Working hard to do better on the next game or test can help them to build a better work ethic and can lead them to success. The true failure quits rather than trying again.

No one wants to fail. But failing is one of the best things we can do because it helps us build character, learn from our mistakes, and work even harder to reach success

Failure helps us to develop a more positive mindset about our intelligence and how we can improve. Many

parents push their children to succeed, which we all obviously want, but those children who fear failure will take it so much harder when they do fail. Teaching our children that failure is nothing but a learning

At our Hasti  School, we don’t want our students to fail, but we do want them to understand that failures happen to everyone. And more importantly, we want them to know how to use that failure as a positive in their life, learn from it, and be successful the next time they try something.

So,summarily we may put it as;

While success is always welcomed and seems pleasant, failures are too inevitable for anyone.

Why is it crucial to prepare kids for failure?

We, at Hasti public school understand that being a parent, you have an innate desire to keep your kids protected against the hard realities of life.

However, this impulsion to protect the children often end up making the parents commit the biggest mistake of keeping their kids from learning the skills to deal with the abnormal and untoward situations in life. After all, some of the best life lessons are derived from not getting wins but rather getting failures and learning from the mistakes.

Studies have revealed that when children learn to cope with setbacks, it develops in them some key characteristics like creative thinking, emotional resilience, management skills, collaborative skills, and much more.

How to teach kids that failures are as much a part of life as successes?

So now, when you know why it is essential to prepare your kids for the probable failures that they might come across, let us now have a look at some of the ways you can teach your kids the same.

•           Make them look at failures as learning opportunities

•

•           Inspire them to try out new things

Children  generally show more inclination towards the activities that either fascinate them or at which they outshine, isn’t it? But if your little one refrains from trying different activities he/she is not skilled at, he/she would not be able to widen the horizons*.

Hence, make sure you introduce your kids to new things and encourage them to try their hands on them. Persuade them that it is fine to commit mistakes when accomplishing new activities, but it is important to at least try with all their heart.

Summing up:

We, at Hasti public school ,Dondaicha , a well-known  school in the vicinity understand that all parents wish to see their kids growing up into caring, responsible, and knowledgeable adultsU. But for that, it is essential that just as much you prepare them to embrace the successes they get in life, you also teach them *to take their failures in the same stride and consider them as the stepping stones to bigger feats ahead.

Your feedback and additional innovative ideas to prepare children to tackle failure are welcome. Do write your comments.

IMPORTANCE AND BENEFITS OF HOLIDAY HOME WORK

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE ,DONDiCHA

BLOG NO.209

Amongst many teachers and parents, homework is a pretty hot conversational topic. While some believe that homework is an essential part of the school experience, others think it’s a waste of our children’s time.

It has been observed and researched that learners, nowadays, are burdened with tremendous expectations and academic pressure. It is undeniably true that vacations should be utilized to the hilt wherein the learners along with their parents can break the monotony and free their minds vacationing in exotic locales and look after their overall development of body, mind, and soul.Every year we have a long holiday twice a year in our school, summer vacation and winter vacation. This is a time when every kid plans a holiday with their parents to visit their grandparents or a new city or country.

Even though there are many good things about the holidays, it always comes with holiday homework which comes as a nightmare for many students because they just don’t want to study during the vacation.

On other hand

No doubt that The long summer break is a great opportunity to spend quality time together as a family, *but it can also lead to your child being intellectually under stimulated.

In an age of social media and Netflix, it’s easier than ever for our youngsters to spend their downtime frying their brains in front of screens.

While every child should be allowed their own time to relax and recover from the stresses of school, it’s important not to let that behaviour dictate their entire summer break.

It is not always easy to know what’s best for your child when it comes to schooling, but at Our HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL & JR.COLLEGE DONDAICHA , we’re big supporters of homework – particularly when it comes to the holiday season. Here’s why.

1.Holiday homework provides the perfect opportunity to keep their “school brain” ticking over, and keeps them challenged and stimulated.

2.There are some learners who are more inclined towards academics and want to properly use their vacations in accomplishing all those tasks which possibly do not get done amidst the routine schedule.

AT OUR HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL  the  holiday home work is planned after a careful deliberation and collaboration  .Holiday home work is designed such that Children will not need text book to attempt  and will stimulate the out of box thinking  . The holiday homework help learners to understand the concepts which they found very difficult when were discussed in the class room .

Few examples of holiday homework given at our Hasti school ;

1.Taking interviews of prominent personalities of different professions residing nearby,

2.research work on  the history and geography of the place they would be visiting during vacation ,

3.To write  about their good habits

4.list of the topics they discussed with their friends /age appropriate relatives  etc. occupy the prime spot in the holiday homework

5. list of 10 things they did better than the existing state etc.

We at Hasti public school formulate and design these home-assignments in such a way that they benefit one and all and cater to the long-term interests. We  look forward to creating an environment of healthy competition and an urge to the qualitative teaching-learning process*.

To make them successful  life-long learners with a perpetual quest for knowledge is  the underlying objective. However please hereunder the Pros and Cons of Holiday homework*

Pros of holiday homework:

1. Allows for a comfortable place to study

There is no doubt about the fact that with time, the classrooms have evolved to be more welcoming toward students but there is nothing more comfortable and safer than home. Students will be more comfortable studying more effectively at home, and the best way to do that is by revising everything that you have learned at school by doing it in the form of homework. Students may feel more focused and attentive at home rather than in class, in this way they can learn and study better.

2. Time management skills

Time management is an important skill that helps one for a lifetime. Homework will help students in developing time management skills and how to stay on track. Students will learn to plan a schedule and ensure that all tasks can be completed during the day. This will encourage research skills as well as develop problem-solving skills and independent thinking which will be beneficial in the real world.

3. Parents more involved in a child’s life

By bringing homework, students can engage their learning process with their parents. Parents can be involved in the studies of their kids and know what the kids are doing or how well they are performing in their studies. Parents would also know where their child lacks or what improvement is needed. Many parents also want their kids to bring homework, so they know what they are being taught at school. Moreover, parents get to spend more time with their children, especially in their study time, so they also know where the child stands in terms of studying.

4. Encourages the discipline of practice

Repeating the same lessons might be boring and frustrating for students but this will only encourage the discipline of practice among them and make thembetter To get better at one subject or even skills, repetition is the key. It is necessary. If the students are having trouble solving a math problem in class but bring homework and do it again, chances are high that they will get better at it. The concepts become much easier to understand.

Cons of holiday homework:

1. Causes unnecessary stress

Students are often given lots of assignments and homework so it gets hard to cope with the pressure. The word homework or assignments can instill a sense of dread in students. When the workload and deadlines are at large, homework can cause students to feel stressed and anxious all the time. This can also lead to them not being motivated enough and can take a toll on their studies and grades.

2. Not always effective

Many surveys and studies have shown that homework has zero effects.

Homework can only create a negative attitude towards schooling and discourages students from even making efforts and making them anxious all the time. Homework doesn’t help in achieving good results. It might be helpful to certain students struggling with a few subjects but overall, there is no evidence that shows any improvements in students’ academic results with the help of homework.

3. Not every home has a beneficial environment

While there are many homes and parents that want to play an active role in the studies of their kids but on the other hand, some students might not have the same experience. Some students might face difficulties at home as there may be no welcoming, beneficial environment for the kids so it may get a bit hard for these students to go home and do homework. Some parents may just push the responsibility of teaching off on the teacher and provide no support to their kids.

A well thought and properly designed holiday home work however generates interest and children feel the home work entertaing and challenging their competency and skills

At our Hasti school we are very particular and focus on the fact that  Holiday homework should never be assigned as a means of retribution.
