REMOTE SENSING  TECHNOLOGY

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA

Learning of Remote sensing technology and GIS has opened new opportunities for young and enthusiastic learners* Like coding, Robotics , S.T.E.M.  the knowledge of remote sensing technology is a  must for every student

Our Hasti public school has already introduced bee bot for learning through STEM and shall now ready to put the right step forward to make children learn  about remote sensing technology.

Indian Institute of remote sensing is taking initiative  to impart knowledge of remote sensing technology

Let us  try to comprehend the very  basics  of this  important  REMOTE SENSING technology through simple questions and  answers

Defination

Remote sensing is the science of acquiring information about an object or phenomenon by measuring emitted and reflected radiation. There are two primary types of remote sensing instruments — active and passive.

What is Remote Sensing?

Remote sensing is a type of geospatial technology that samples emitted and reflected electromagnetic (EM) radiation from the Earth’s terrestrial, atmospheric, and aquatic ecosystems in order to detect and monitor the physical characteristics of an area without making physical contact. This method of data collection typically involves aircraft-based and satellite-based sensor technologies, which are classified as either passive sensors or active sensors.

Passive sensors respond to external stimuli, gathering radiation that is reflected or emitted by an object or the surrounding space. The most common source of radiation measured by passive remote sensing is reflected sunlight. Popular examples of passive remote sensors include charge-coupled devices, film photography, radiometers, and infrared.

Active sensors use internal stimuli to collect data, emitting energy in order to scan objects and areas whereupon a sensor measures the energy reflected from the target. RADAR and LiDAR are typical active remote sensing tools that measure the time delay between emission and return in order to establish the location, direction, and speed of an object. The remote sensing data gathered is then processed and analyzed with remote sensing hardware and computer software, which is available in a variety of proprietary and open source applications.

What is Remote Sensing Used For?

Remote sensing technology is used in a wide variety of disciplines in thousands of different use cases, including most earth sciences, such as meteorology, geology, hydrology, ecology, oceanography, glaciology, geography, and in land surveying, as well as applications in military, intelligence, commercial, economic, planning, and humanitarian fields. Some typical remote sensing examples include:

•           GIS remote sensing: Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system designed to capture, store, manage, analyze, manipulate, and present geographic or spatial data — satellite remote sensing provides an important source of spatial data. Remote sensing and GIS work together to gather, store, analyze, and visualize data from virtually any geographic position on Earth.

•           Irrigation and soil moisture monitoring and management are major components of remote sensing in agriculture.

•           Doppler radar measures meteorological events such as wind speed and direction within weather systems as well as precipitation intensity and location. Another application is aerial traffic control.

•           AVHRR and MODIS satellites use thermal sensing and mid infrared sensing to monitor active volcanoes.

•           INSAR (interferometric synthetic aperture radar) uses interferometry remote sensing technique to predict and provide early warnings for potential landslides.

•           A primary application of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) is vegetation monitoring, however it is also applied in cases of weapon ranging and laser illuminated homing of projectiles. LiDAR may also be used to detect and measure the concentration of various chemicals in the atmosphere.

•           Stereographic pairs of aerial photographs are used to model terrestrial habitat features and make topographic maps by imagery and terrain analysts in trafficability and highway departments for potential routes.

•           Spectropolarimetric Imaging is used by researchers at the U.S. Army Research Laboratory for target tracking purposes by identifying man made items by their polarimetric signatures, which are not found in natural objects.

•           Remote sensing satellites provide before- and after- remote sensing images in order to quantify post-earthquake damage, which provides vital data for rescue workers.

•           Data from laser and radar altimeters on satellites, sonar, and ultrasound measurements can be used for coastal mapping and erosion prevention, to better understand how to manage ocean resources, to assess the impacts of a natural disaster and create disaster response strategies to be used before and after a hazardous event, and to minimize the damage that urban growth has on the environment and help decide how to best protect natural resources.

•           Remote sensing for oil and gas is an integral tool for upstream and downstream gas and oil operations through evaluation of infrastructure for well-site planning. Spectral analysis is vital for the evaluation of surface outcrops and surface hydrocarbon seepage.

Importance of Remote Sensing

Remote sensing makes it possible to collect data from dangerous or inaccessible areas, with growing relevance in modern society. It replaces slower, costly data collection on the ground, providing fast and repetitive coverage of extremely large areas for everyday applications, ranging from weather forecasts to reports on natural disasters or climate change.

Remote sensing is also an unobstructive method, allowing users to collect data and perform data processing and GIS analysis offsite without disturbing the target area or object. Monitoring floods and forest fires, deforestation, polar bears, chemical concentrations, and earthquakes are just a few cases in which geospatial remote sensing provides a global perspective and actionable insights that would otherwise be unattainable.

Advantages of Microwave Remote Sensing

Microwave remote sensing encompasses both passive and active remote sensing, covering wavelengths ranging from one centimeter to one meter — the microwave’s longer wavelength is an important feature in remote sensing as it can penetrate haze, rainfall, dust, and cloud cover more effectively than visible and infrared.

Remote sensing of the environment using microwave remote sensing is therefore unaffected as the longer wavelengths are not susceptible to atmospheric scattering. Microwave energy can be detected and data can be gathered under most environmental conditions. Applications include sea ice monitoring and global soil moisture mapping.

Application of Remote Sensing to Climate Change

Application of remote sensing in the studies of climate change has provided major advances in understanding the climate system and its changes, by quantifying spatio-temporal states and processes of the atmosphere, oceans, and lands. Satellite sensors have aided in the detection and measurement of the cooling effects of increased stratospheric aerosols and the spatial pattern of sea-level rise, which otherwise went unobserved by conventional climate models observations.

Global climate change research uses big data from Earth observation platforms, in which remote multi-satellite, multi-sensor, and long-term time series data methods are implemented. This has facilitated the detection of climate sensitivity factors, advanced the study of the spatial variability of terrestrial ecosystems, and aided in the development of global climate change response strategies.

Limitations of Remote Sensing Data

Remote sensing is ultimately managed by human operators that make crucial decisions regarding which sensors should be used to collect data and when, resolution specifications for the collected data and sensor calibration, and the selection of the platform that will carry the sensor, all of which expose this method to a certain degree of human error.

Inaccuracy may also be introduced by the electromagnetic spectrum radiation emitted from powerful active remote sensing systems, which can be intrusive and affect the target phenomenon being investigated. Remote sensing instruments may contribute inaccurate, un-calibrated data if the hardware system becomes un-calibrated. There may also be cost related limitations. It is an expensive method that requires extensive, special training for image analysis

History of Remote Sensing

The earliest practices of modern remote sensing consisted of primitive photographs of the earth’s surface taken from tethered balloons for the purpose of topographic mapping in the 1840s. Systematic aerial photography using modified aircrafts was developed for military surveillance and reconnaissance purposes during the first World War and through the Cold War.

With the emergence of the space program in the 1960s, instrumentation on Earth observing and weather satellites such as the Nimbus and Landsat provided global measurements of various data for military, civil, and research purposes. IKONOS, the first commercial satellite built to collect very high resolution imagery, was commissioned by Lockheed Martin, launched in 1999, and decommissioned in 2015.

Does OmniSci Provide Remote Sensing Solutions?

Remote sensing data is a major source of spatial data used in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Geospatial-specific processes in GIS tools are becoming too slow for the enormous data volumes provided by modern remote sensing technologies.

OmniSci    (It is the world’s fastest analytics platform focused on real-time data analytics, designed to overcome the scalability and performance limitations of legacy) ..bridges this divide, providing an accelerated analytics platform that allows geospatial analysts to cross-filter billions of location data records and polygons alongside other features in milliseconds. The Omni Sci DB SQL engine natively stores geographic and geometric data types, enabling users to run geo calculations with the massively parallel processing power of CPUs and GPUs.

It is required to teach remote sensing knowledge in all middle schools  by the commission on Geographical Education of International Geographical Union*.

*This will strengthen the teaching material of geography and open a new road to spread remote sensing knowledge among the people

The middle school age is the just time for the students to learn the knowledge, they will become talented in remote sensing*. Because our Nation  occupies the most dominant position in the number of students all over the world, so we will have abundant reserve force for remote sensing.

REVOLUTION IN HOME WORK

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA

The sole  purpose of the home work is to make children  learn and understand the content taught at the school and write the answers to the questions of  their own

*The home work done by the student help teacher to understand his/her  difficulty  in the portion taught , and thus  help teacherS in planning  the remedial measures FOR children .

In reality  the very purpose of  Homework is defeated  as either parents help their wards to complete the home work or HW is completed by either copying the answers from the  /digest or by copying answers   from friends notebook hurriedly out of the fear that teacher will punish . In the process the home work is done but without understanding or comprehending the content and concept*  it is analogous to the story  which goes as under

Once there was a *fowler/ bird catcher who use  to trap parrots  and sell them in the city .One day he saw hundreds of  beautiful parrots sitting on the branches of a huge tree, he was tempted to trap them.

In the mean time sensing the danger, an old and wise parrot collected  all parrots  and  *told them to remember the e simple sentence for their safety and made them to learn by heart. The sentence was

“ the hunter will come and lay the trap, but we will not go ”

Every parrot learnt this by heart.

On other day a fowler saw parrots sitting on a tree, he was tempted & started planning to catch all those parrots. Only then the parrots started singing to gather, “ the hunter will come and lay the trap, but we will not go ” . When the fowler heard this, he was astonished.

He had never seen such intelligent parrots anywhere, he thought it was impossible to catch them, they look like trained parrots.

Fowler  fell asleep by putting some guava pieces in his net under the same tree, thinking that some greedy and stupid parrot might be trapped.

After some time when he woke up, he saw that all the parrots were singing together, *the hunter would come and lay a trap, but we would not go. But all parrots were  singing this song inside the net. The hunter laughed seeing the condition of all those stupid parrots and took them all away. in short Instead of memorizing any knowledge,we should emphasize on understanding it.

Therefore  at our Hasti Public School the home work is *not given  as to bring the  answers to the questions but at Hasti Public school  the  *homework is to frame as many questions as possible on the portion taught

It is a proven fact that ONE WHO ASKS or one who can frames QUESTI ONS *IS WISER  than one WHO ANSWES*

Questions have specific and significant importance in learning process.  Questions generate the thought process and leads to great DISCOVERY ( had ARJUNA not asked questions LORD KRISHNA would not have answered and there would  not have been  GITA  ,so is the importance of Question)

Our Hasti Public School has adopted revolutionary system of NOT giving CUSTOMARY home work .

“No home work” project was launched in the year 2012-2013 .and the School became the only one in the vicinity and in entire district to implement this unique project

Children are motivated to frame questions on the topic taught on the day and child/children framing maximum questions would be encouraged by giving special prize at general Assembly.

*It was a revolution as other schools are asking children to bring answers to the questions as homework

On another hand ,our school was ASKING STUDENTS TO BRING QUESTIONS ON THE PORTION TAUGHT AS HOME WORK  this is because school believes that,  the real wisdom is in framing the questions than in writing the answers and secondly to frame the questions students have to read thoroughly

To test the comprehension of the subject content, homework assessment tests are regularly conducted as “weekly test”  The home work books are corrected as per the schedule.

•           It is observed that very often (after coming out of examination hall) when children discussed what they missed they are  heard saying I quote “ oh ! my God! I was knowing this answer” that means  what a child was not knowing  was a  question or could not  understand the question .THEREFORE THERE IS MORE NEED TO MAKE CHILDREN QUESTION FRIENDLY THEN TO MAKE THEM MUG THE ANSWERS WITHOUT COMPREHENDING .

•           It is also observed that for the same answer if the question is changed reframed they get confused For instance;

When we ask question that in a cricket match India scored 235 runs and England scored 475, then how many runs England team scored more? Children will find the answer .but now if the question is asked as How many more runs Indian team need to make to equal the score  many children get confuse . Therefore Children should be made more friendly with the questions .

POWER OF QUESTION FRAMING

There were two friends namely Hari and Salman they use to go to the same school ,they use to play, & they us to study  to gather their favourite game was rope skipping .

Hari’s mother’s  name was Sushila and Shiba was the name of salman’s mother

On Sunday Hari and  salman were sent to the market by their mothers .white  bag  to Hari and blue bag one to Salman. With Rs.200/- each  to purchase vegetables and note books .They returned home at 4.30pm  They gave the details of expenditure and honesty returned Rs.50 to their mothers. Chileren on listening this  can frame many questions like

•           How many friends were there?

•           What were their names?

•           On which day their mothers sent them to market?

•           How much money was given to them?

•           For what purpose they were given money?

•           Which coloured bag was given to Hari and Salman ?

•           At what time they came back home?

•           How much money they brought back?

•           One can frame questions only after reading thoroughly and will definitely know the answers to maximum questions.

•           Thus this type of homework of framing questions is very helpful & less possibility of copy paste work

•           A unique type of homework than routine of asking to bring answers

•           This will generate special interest amongst children and variety of questions will be framed

•           This will automatically generate the question bank

Surprisingly most of the children framing the questions almost know the  answers as well . That is the power and maginc of framing the questions At our Hasti public school  therefore  children  are  asked &motivated to set the question on the portion taught ( 1 MARK,2 MARKS,5 MARKS ETC. ) They are further  asked to set question paper on the chapter completed and bring  the same to school on Saturday the Papers are then  exchanged & a test starts . ———————————————————————————————————————————————-

ROLE OF VALUE EDUCATION*IN HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN

“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.” ― C.S. Lewis

Our *HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL emphasizes on  showing  the path to little ones of the next generation not by precept but by example ?

our school’s vision is to create global citizens and future leaders with values like loyalty, patriotism, honesty , collaboration , communication & other competencies  in a learner-friendly and inspiring environment*.

Before we get into knowing what is value education,  let us understand what is the connection between development and value education. Value Education should definitely be a part of the child’s learning spaces at developmental stages which includes Parents, School and Community. Value education is one of the critical keys for the overall development of a student in the course of learning which includes Personality development and Citizenship education. Welcoming learning spaces and aesthetically pleasing environment are very important for each stage of development.

The “Value” of Value Education

Value- education, is concerned to make morality a living concern for children. Hence, what is needed is value-education.

The values we live by affect how we relate to the people around us and to all our activities in the environment, and so they have a major influence on our prospects for achieving a sustainable future. Although this can’t be separated from cognitive understanding, values and attitudes relate to the affective (or emotional) dimensions of our behavior. While values and attitudes are similar in this regard, they differ significantly in several important ways.

Values are the long-term standards or principles that are used to judge the worth of an idea. Values provide us the criteria by which we decide what is good or bad, right or wrong.

It predisposes us to respond in particular ways to people and events.

Value-education is a multifaceted endeavor and in an activity during which young people are assisted by adults or older people in schools, family homes, , and other organizations, to make known those underlying their own attitudes, to study the effectiveness of values for their own and other’s well-being in the long term long term to reflect on and acquire other values.

HOW TO READ FASTER AND REMEMBER MORE

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL , DONDAICHA

We all love a great novel. And when we finish it, we remember the plot, the characters, and most details. Why is that? Because we are totally focused and absorbed in what we are reading as we read it

Contrast that with a textbook – dry, non-fiction content that we are consciously trying very hard to read and remember, without much enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is probably the single most important factor in reading fast and remembering what we have read. And it is the factor that we all must try to overcome when we read non-fiction material that is not so exciting.

Students, content marketers, and business professionals have to absorb a lot of content, and without solid strategies to read faster and remember more, they are committing a great deal of time to an arduous task, often having to take copious notes as they read so that they can review it later and remember.

There are tactic to fix this problem, although they are not the strategies that any of us were taught in elementary school.

Here is how to read faster and remember more.

1. Turn Off the Monologue of Making Sounds

This is how you were taught to read – to sound out letter combinations and put those together to form words. We continue to do this as adults, when our eyes can actually capture words and sentences and send them to our brains much faster.

This new strategy requires mindfulness, a contemporary buzzword that means many things, but is most often defined as focus. Focus not on sounding words out but rather on your eyes moving across the page. When you do find something that really interests you, you can turn that monologue back on and enjoy. But focusing on what the eye is seeing can increase your speed up to three times.

2. Scan for Those Important Words

This is another strategy that goes against what we were taught in grade school – to read every word in a sentence or paragraph. It is totally unnecessary to get the information. Verb, adverbs, articles, and many adjectives only add fluff. You want the nouns and some of the adjectives and you only need to really read 50% of what is in a sentence. Your mind can fill in the gaps of the less important words.

Example: “Certainly, the dog was happy that his owner fed him but was even happier that he was given some attention with a game of catch.”

Let’s break it down.

“The dog was happy” – your eyes can see this as a chunk, not as four separate words.

“fed by owner” – another chunk

“happier … attention … game of catch”

The sentence has 25 words in it. You can get the meaning by scanning and picking up only 11 words – less than 50% of the total.

This takes practice, but once you get it, you will read everything this way (except that novel where you want to savor every word). And, if there is a paragraph you read that you don’t get this way, you can always go back and read it again. But if you do get it, you are onto the next paragraph quickly.

3. Read First and Last Sentences of Paragraphs First

The reason for doing this is two-fold. First, if you read the first sentence and it is introducing something you already know, why read the rest of the paragraph? Second, non-fiction is generally poorly written. It is long-winded, often repetitive, certainly wordy, and with more examples than are necessary.

Try reading just the first and last sentence of a paragraph in a textbook. Do you get the gist of what is being said? Is this something you have heard about before? Then move on. If, on the other hand, a first sentence piques your interest or if it is introducing content that is foreign to you, read the whole paragraph.

4. Relate New Information to Stuff You Already Know

When we read and take in information, our brains actually store everything – most of it in our subconscious. We don’t know it is there. So, when we try to recall what we have read, it may be hard to do. But it is there – it just needs a context that will spark the retrieval. You can spark that retrieval by relating something new to something you already know, preferably a personal experience.

If you are reading a book on psychology, for example, and you come across the term “cognitive behavioral therapy,” which is then explained, read the full explanation. After all, this is new stuff. Now relate it to a personal experience.

The theory is that what we think about ourselves determines all of our behaviors, and to change behaviors we must first change our thinking. Think of a time when you didn’t take a chance on something because you were afraid of failure. That’s cognitive behavior in action. Now you’ll remember it always.

5. Do Get Some Stuff in Writing

There is a very tiny percentage of humans who remember absolutely everything they read, see, or hear. Their “condition” is called hyperthymestic syndrome. For the rest of us, our memory is not that good. Sometimes we have to write things down so we don’t forget.

When you finish a piece of non-fiction, go back and make some notes, maybe from parts you highlighted as you read. Then type up a 150-word summary of the piece and list the important point you took from it. Save it in a database. You only need to do this with information that is really important to you. Ten years from now, when the memory of that book is a bit vague, you have that database to look it up, and the rest will be retrieved for you.

Reading faster and remembering more is not a magical, mysterious thing.  Practice on above and you will be benefitted

WHAT MAKES A TEACHER GREAT

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL, DONDAICHA                              *

*

Everyone can think back to their years as a student and recall at least one teacher that stood out as a truly outstanding teacher.

We’ve all had that teacher at some point in our lives. It can be really difficult to pinpoint what makes a teacher remarkable.

We know it when we see it or experience it, but putting our experience into words can be challenging.

1. Teachers that care about us both in and out of the classroom

Whether cheering for us on the field or applauding our curtain call, students appreciate teachers that show us they not only care about how we’re doing in their class, but out of it, too. My friend said  “I especially love being able to go talk to my teachers about life and other things not related to the subject at hand”. It’s a great feeling knowing that when you don’t want to talk to your parents, there’s another adult that you can talk to and trust. It would take way more than two hands to count the number of students at my school that keep in touch with the teachers during the summer. Having an exceptional relationship with teachers has us looking forward to school every morning and working harder in class to show the teachers we adore that we care.

2. Teachers those are beyond passionate

The best teachers are not always the ones teaching the core classes. I took a English class in 8th grade and learned more information in a single semester than I’ve learned during an entire year. The teacher was fantastic because he was incredibly passionate. When imagining a teacher discussing Shakespeare, many would picture a bunch of teenagers staring out into space, barely listening. But, when My teacher talked, no heads went down and no eyes wandered. Everyone was focused intently on what he told us because his passion for the subject was contagious. I admire teachers that are so passionate about their subject that they inspire students to look further into it, ask questions, and leave the class with a sense of wonder about learning something genuinely new and interesting.

3. Teachers that plan unforgettable lessons

My 6th grade Life Science teacher was an incredible teacher. Her lessons were the type that stuck with us long after leaving her class. Each lesson had a lot of thought put into it and was obviously well planned without making us feel as though we were robots following a plan down to the last second. I would go home and tell my parents about the exciting things we did in class on a near-daily basis. she floated from table to table, pointing out cool things, answering an immeasurable amount of questions, and comforting the squeamish. She loved us and we loved her. Her immense amount of passion, knowledge, and love made her an outstanding teacher.

4. Teachers that aren’t afraid to be challenged

I had an unforgettable teacher during my year of high school. He consistently challenged and debated with us in class and welcomed the opportunity for us to disagree with him. In a society where students are always expected to accept what the authority figure says, having a teacher who allowed us to challenge him was an eye-opening experience. No matter the topic, if we had a different opinion, he wanted to hear it. At first, it was strange to debate with a teacher and a bit upsetting that he was not shy about pointing out a flaw in our argument. But, by the end of the year, I appreciated having a teacher that I could be completely honest with about the subject, knowing he would bring up a point that would have me thinking about my argument in an entirely new way.

In the end, the best teachers aren’t always the ones doling out the best grades. Rather, the teachers that *challenge, inspire, and truly care for their students are the ones that make a lasting impact*.

Why sports should be made mandatory  at schools

Weren’t those days the best when children used to play in the park, giggling with happiness and their faces glowing with energy?

Nowadays, technology is overpowering the fun time of our children. Video games and smartphones are making them inactive in their daily routine. It not just hampers their overall health but also affects academic performance.

In such a backdrop, sports is one such thing that can aid in offering a holistic development of students. In fact, as per our Hasti School’s philosophy, all students should take active participation in sports activities. Sports education in India is now a big thing, and everyone should adopt it as a tool to make students active individuals.

Here are some reasons why sports should be made an integral part of the school’s curriculum:

Teaches Essential Life Skills

Students may learn about the great poets of English Literature or how force is directly proportional to acceleration, but these things won’t teach them essential life skills. They will not learn how to interact with people or feel confident while giving a presentation. However, if they play sports, opportunities to learn these things will knock on their door every day.

While participating in sports, they will get the chance to develop their reactions to a situation and must act quickly by analysing and examining the facts. All such activities tend to improve and build strong life skills that can be of great help in the future. Some common skills that get a boost when students play sports include:

•           Discipline

•           Social Skills

•           Self-Esteem

•           Confidence

•           Strong Memory

•           Team Work

Improves Academic Performance

‘How sports benefits education?’ – This is one of the most common questions that parents ask when we talk about sports in school. Well, studies have suggested that physical activities play a vital role in the development of the brain. Sports not only reduce stress but also lead to improved creativity and better concentration power among students which automatically is reflected in their academic performance.

If students constantly focus on studying and do not involve themselves in stress-busting activities, it can affect their academic performance and also exhaust their mind.

Boosts Health

Modern day’s lifestyle has made our kids inactive. They are so used to comfort that even picking up the TV remote seems a big task for them. Such inactiveness and sluggish behaviour leads to health issues – with obesity topping the list.

By playing sports, students can achieve a healthy lifestyle that further improves their overall health and maintains body weight too.

Bigger Opportunities

While many people still don’t understand what is sports education, we at Hasti public school  realise its potential and help our scholars make most of the available opportunities. There is long list of  our school students who have excelled at National and  International level There are many students who have represented at state level champions To name one such achievement , our talented scholar Kanan sheetal KailasJain  recently achieved the rank  in Under Fencing at National level Safe to say, sports not only improve students’ health but also offers them golden opportunities to achieve success in life.

To Sum Up

“Play a sport. It will teach you how to win honourably, lose gracefully, respect authority, work with others, manage your time and stay out of trouble*.”

Whoever said these words certainly understood why sports education is important. At our school premises, we offer a wide range of sports activities to cater to the diverse interests of our scholars. We have sports complex spread over 4.5 acre of land with standard courts for squash, basket ball, fencing ,archery ,football , volleyball, 400 meters track ,Kabbadi and  Kho-Kho etc.in addition to martial Arts.   School offers  class facilities in 21 different games and sports such as shooting, fencing, football and others. To know more, visit our campus soon.

Need the names of international and National players with name of sports and the year of qualifying the National or international students champions of our school to *complete this blog

How To Motivate  CHILD  To Do Homework  AT PRE-PRIMARY LEVEL

HASTI  PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA

How to motivate child to do homework” is on almost every parent’s mind right now. Getting kids to do homework doesn’t have to be painful. In fact, it can be outright fun! In this article, I will share the secret on motivating your child to not only do homework but also love homework. Yes, you read it right. It is possible to love doing school work. No yelling, screaming, threatening or crying required.

Why Do Kids Hate Homework Let’s start with kindergarteners. For many children, kindergarten is their first formal experience in school. Kindergarten has changed a lot over the last decade.

Once a place for socialization and play, kindergartens now emphasize the importance of learning to read, to count, to sit still and to listen to the teachers. Going from playing all day at home to behaving or sitting still in a structured environment for hours at a time is a tough transition. To add to that, many kindergartens also assign homework to these little children, further reducing their available play time. It’s no wonder that some kindergarteners are not motivated to do homework.

Homework Motivation Remember when your child was still a toddler, he/she would get into anything and everything? They were curious and they were eager to learn about everything around them. They were passionate learners.

Children naturally love learning, if we provide the right environment and motivate them appropriately.

Here’s the problem…When you hear the word “motivate”, what do you think of?If you’re thinking about toys, money, iPad time, points, stickers, etc., you’re not alone. Rewards (and sometimes punishments) are many parents’ go-to motivators.Parents love them because they work almost instantly. You present the prize and the child complies to get it. Problem solved.Simple and effective. But very soon, you will notice some unintended results.

Here is an example.

A TEACHER was approached by a couple who told him about a system of rewards they had set up for their son, which had produced much improved behavior  THEY SAID “He sits up straight and eats his DINNER and he is really very well behaved,” they reported. Until, that is, the first time the family dined at a nice restaurant. The child looked around, picked up a crystal glass from the table and asked, “How many points not to drop this?” A fine example, of the detrimental effects of over-reliance on rewards to shape children’s behavior.

This example is far from rare.In fact, it is very common when a child is motivated purely by an external reward. Once the reward is removed, the child will no longer be interested in continuing the behavior. What’s the right way to motivate our children? The answer is intrinsic motivation.

Intrinsic motivation refers to engaging in an activity for its pure enjoyment. This enjoyment comes from within an individual and is a psychological satisfaction derived from performing the task, not from an extrinsic outcome. In other words, to get your kid to do homework, first help them enjoy doing it.

It is not as crazy as it sounds. It’s unfortunate that homework is called “work”. We like to separate work from play.So naturally, we feel that homework is drudgery. But it doesn’t have to be.

Homework is a tool for children to learn and get familiar with the knowledge taught in class. To enjoy homework, the child just has

How To Motivate a Child To Do Homework to enjoy learning.

To motivate kids, we first have to change our mindset, from a working mindset to a learning mindset.

The goal of going to school is not about getting into college, finding a good job, earning a stable income, etc.Of course, all of those are wonderful, but that’s a working mindset – you’re doing all that work for reasons other than enjoying the learning itself.

Going to school should be about learning, acquiring knowledge, exploring new subjects and growing as a person.

MAKE CHILD ENJOY DOING HOMEWORK

Have a special place for your child to study. The homework area doesn’t have to be fancy. A desk in the bedroom is nice, but for many children, the kitchen table or a corner of the living room works just fine. The area should have good lighting and it should be fairly quiet. Provide supplies and identify resources. For starters, have available pencils, pens, erasers, writing paper and a dictionary.

Other supplies that might be helpful include a stapler, paper clips, maps, a calculator, a pencil sharpener, tape, glue, paste, scissors, a ruler, a calculator, index cards, a thesaurus and an almanac. If possible, keep these items together in one place.

Set a regular time for homework. Having a regular time to do homework helps children to finish assignments. Of course, a good schedule depends in part on your child’s age, as well as her specific needs. You’ll need to work with a young child to develop a schedule. You should give your older child the responsibility for making up a schedule independently—although you’ll want to make sure that it’s a workable one.

You may find it helpful to have her write out her schedule and put it in a place where you’ll see it often, such as on the refrigerator. ß Remove distractions. Turn off the TV and discourage your child from making and receiving social telephone calls during homework time. (A call to a classmate about an assignment, however, may be helpful.)

If you live in a small or noisy household, try having all family members take part in a quiet activity during homework time. You may need to take a noisy toddler outside or into another room to play. If distractions can’t be avoided, your child may want to complete assignments in the local library. ß Don’t expect or demand perfection. When your child asks you to look at what she’s done—from skating a figure 8 to finishing a math assignment—show interest and praise her when she’s done something well.

If you have criticisms or suggestions, make them in a helpful way. One final note: You may be reluctant to help your child with homework because you feel that you don’t know the subject well enough or because you don’t speak or read English as well as your child. But helping with homework doesn’t mean doing the homework. It isn’t about solving the problems for your child, it’s about supporting him to do his best.

PLASTICS, A GLOBAL PROBLEM

Our HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL   is making compatible  , logical and rational efforts to create awareness in society about this plastic hazard and threat

Awareness rallies , no plastic slogan  , drawing competition and video clip results in to increased awareness amongst the future citizens of our Nation

The fact that plastics are now a serious headache for the planet is proved by the fact that more and more governments are proposing measures to reduce their impact on the environment. In fact, in 2021 Europe will ban the sale of single-use plastics such as drinking straws, cutlery or cotton buds within its borders. To put the magnitude of the problem into context, let’s review some objective data:

Every year, 500 billion plastic bottles are produced worldwide.

In 2021we will generate more than 500 million tonnes of plastic, 1900% more than in 1980.*

Plastic in the ocean is already more than 150 million tons of waste.*

By 2050, they could contain more plastics than fish.**

Each year around eight million tons of plastic ends up in our seas and oceans.*

While on the subject of single-use plastics, which account for half of the plastic we use each year, they have an average useful life of 12 to 15 minutes and yet can take up to 500 years to disappear

According to Life Out Of Plastic (LOOP). Plastics outlive us and will outlive our children.

The good news is that it is in our hands, as consumers, to turn this situation around.

We have the power to make manufacturers change the way they produce.

TIPS FOR REDUCING YOUR PLASTICS CONSUMPTION

Minimising he consumption of plastics is much simpler than it seems.

Avoid single-use plastics such as drinking straws

Single-use plastics, such as plates and cutlery made from this material, make our lives easier, but seriously harm the planet.

If you go shopping, remember to take a cloth bag

Recycle chewing gum… it’s also make of plastic Replace plastic Tupperware for glass or steel containers

If you eat at work, a Tupperware container is part of your day.

Not only will the planet appreciate it, so will your health because some of these plastic containers can release harmful substances.

When hanging out washing use wooden pegs instead of plastic ones

you manage to get your family, friends and co-workers to do the same by setting an example

Avoid using cosmetics that use micro-plastics, buy a biodegradable brush and wear natural fabrics

So in nut shell

Plastics are now a serious headache for the planet and it is in our hands to reverse this situation.

Plastic has become a constant element in our lives. It’s everywhere: product packaging, cosmetic ingredients, textiles, mobile phones, etc. It’s even in the chewing gum you might be chewing on right now!

*Its omnipresence is such that many would find the mere fact of giving it up a difficult task.

Reducing the consumption of plastics therefore requires not only a change in habits, but also a change of mindset.

Listening vs. Hearing

HASTI  PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA

“Are you listening to me?” This question is often asked because the teachers /speaker think  the listener is nodding off or daydreaming.

We sometimes think that listening means we only have to sit back, stay barely awake, and let a speaker’s words wash over us. listening is often understood as a “passive” activity. More recently, O, the Oprah Magazine featured a cover article with the title, “How to Talk So People Really Listen

Four Ways to Make Yourself Heard.” This title leads us to expect a list of ways to leave the listening to others and insist that they do so, but the article contains a surprise ending. The final piece of advice is this: “You can’t go wrong by showing interest in what other people say and making them feel important .

In other words, the better you listen, the more you’ll be listened

You may have heard the adage, “We have two ears but only one mouth”—an easy way to remember that listening can be twice as important as talking. *As a student, you most likely spend many hours in a classroom doing a large amount of focused listening, yet sometimes it is difficult to apply those efforts to communication in other areas of your life

4.1 Listening vs. Hearing

Hearing is an accidental and automatic brain response to sound that requires no effort. We are surrounded by sounds most of the time. For example, we are accustomed to the sounds of airplanes, lawn mowers, furnace blowers, the rattling of pots and pans, and so on. We hear those incidental sounds and, unless we have a reason to do otherwise, we train ourselves to ignore them. We learn to filter out sounds that mean little to us, just as we choose to hear our ringing cell phones and other sounds that are more important to us.

students who develop better listening skills are more likely to feel confident, comfortable, and prepared to succeed in school.

The importance of active listening also branches into social-emotional development.Improved relationship skills. Stronger sense of empathy.

students with strong listening skills don’t just retain more information, but they are also less likely to feel unprepared and frustrated Additionally, improved listening skills can lead to improved self-efficacy, or a student’s belief that they can succeed in class

This means that students who develop better listening skills are more likely to feel confident, comfortable, and prepared to succeed in school.

Learning how to listen can also teach students how to communicate their ideas

This is because students who listen pick up more knowledge to reflect on and think critically about before they respond. Plus, for dual language learners in your class, learning how to listen can help students pick up their second language faster.[6]

Teaching students listening skills leads to lasting advantages in a student’s academic career and beyond, including:

•           Greater ability to communicate

•           Faster second language acquisition

•           Lower levels of frustration, anxiety, and depression

•           Improved relationship skills

•           Stronger sense of empathy

How to Help Students Develop Stronger Active Listening Skills

On average, people listen at about 25% of their potential& in the classroom, teachers often understand that listening is an important skill to have but rarely teach it Clearly, teaching students how to be active listener should be a part of our class curriculum.

Active listening is easiest when there are fewer distractions. Try to limit the number of distracting decorations in your classroom, such as too many posters or large, very bright items. This will not only be helpful for your classroom as a whole but also students with disorders that act as a barrier to active listening and focus, like attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

If you have students who struggle to listen in class, multisensory learning and curricula  can be helpful. Multisensory learning involves any activity that engages two or more of the senses (such as sight, hearing, or smell). You could, for example, *sing a song to teach students the names of the solar system planets or have students draw a scene from a book as you read it in class. As you engage several of your students’ senses, they will be better able to listen and comprehend class materials.

And finally, lead by example. Provide students with an opportunity to model active listening skills by holding regular classroom meetings. The subject of these meetings (anything from class policies to recent academic topics) doesn’t matter so much as the structure. Remind students to practice their active listening skills and focus less on making their opinion

INSTEAD OF HEARING DO LISTEN

HOW TO IMPROVE IMMUNITY IN OUR KIDS

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA

Immune system protects your child’s body from outside invaders, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and toxins (chemicals produced by microbes). It is made up of different organs, cells, and proteins that work together.

There are two main parts of the immune system:

•           The innate immune system, which you are born with.

•           The adaptive immune system, which you develop when your body is exposed to microbes or chemicals released by microbes.

These two immune systems work together.

The innate immune system

This is your child’s rapid response system. It patrols your child’s body and is the first to respond when it finds an invader. The innate immune system is inherited and is active from the moment your child is born.

The acquired immune system

The acquired immune system, with help from the innate system, produces cells (antibodies) to protect your body from a specific invader.

Boosting Immunity in Covid-19 Times

Children are exposed to all kinds of germs and viruses daily. With the Covid-19 pandemic still in full force, it is vital to ensure that your child’s immune system is in its best form. No one is born with an immune system, it develops as your child grows. Although the best way to boost their immunity is by letting them fight through minor colds and flu, our job as parents is to do whatever it takes to ensure our child’s immunity is the best it can be. Here are 6 home remedies & tips to improve immunity in kids.

THE QUESTION IS  HOW TO BOOST IMMUNITY?

                                              &

                                 HERE IS THE ANSWER

Promote Immunity Booster Foods

Encourage your kids to eat immunity booster foods daily!

The food your child consumes plays an important role not only in defining their immunity but for their overall development. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables can go a long way in helping build your child’s immunity. Some of the most common immunity booster foods for kids are carrots, green beans, oranges, and strawberries. All of these contain carotenoids that are phytonutrients, which act as the best immunity booster for kids.

Having a diet that is rich in phytonutrients have been known to protect the child from chronic diseases, namely heart disease or cancer as adults. Your child should have at least five servings of fresh fruits and vegetables as part of their daily diet plan.

Keeping a watch on their sugar intake and reducing the amount of processed food in your pantry can do wonders in keeping your child healthy and full of strong immunity!

2. Improve their Sleep Cycle

Sleep plays a vital role in your child’s daily routine. Not only does it keep them rested and relaxed after a busy day of online learning, it is also a natural immunity booster for kids. If your child is not a sleepyhead then they require at least 9 to 10 hours of sleep daily. Proper sleep gives your child’s nervous system the rest it needs to reboot for a fresh start the next day!

Science also shows that getting adequate sleep at night can improve your child’s immune system and keep them safe from obesity, heart diseases, and most importantly, diabetes in their future.

3. Exercise as a Family

Regular exercise benefits kids the same way it helps adults. It can boost blood circulation and enhances healthy heart functions. Exercise also has an essential immunity-boosting role. It flushes out bacteria from the airways and lungs.

Taking them out for a walk, preferably early morning is one of the safest bets. Building the basis of daily exercise has many immediate benefits, but it also sets the course for healthier adults as they grow.

4. Personal Hygiene

Nothing is as crucial for your child as cultivating good hygiene. As parents, our job is to teach these values to our children and, more often than not, lead by example. Along with brushing their teeth at least twice a day and having a bath daily, it is also essential to teach them to how to wash their hands, for at least 20 seconds, thoroughly multiple times a day.

Alongside personal hygiene, it is also essential for them to keep their surroundings clean. This includes clean up after playtime and keeping their toys and books in their specified places. As parents, we can clean their toys and play surfaces regularly with mild nontoxic or child-safe disinfectants.

5. Meditation

Now, this is a hard one, even for a few adults. Most parents are also of the mindset that children do not need meditation. However, meditation benefits are infinite! Many studies have shown that just a few minutes of meditation daily can positively impact your child’s immune system. It can prevent harmful mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. It also helps soothe your child’s nervous system, improving their immunity. This is one of the most effective tips to improve immunity in kids.Meditation also helps your child reduce their blood pressure and keep their emotional and cognitive development, moving in the right direction.

6. Limit their Antibiotic Intake

No parent wants their child to suffer an illness; those pesky colds are the worst and usually result in sleepless nights for you and your child. Tempting as it may be to visit the doctor and get medicines to make them feel better instantly, it is essential to let the flu run its course. Urging your pediatrician to prescribe antibiotics every time your child has a cough or cold or sore throat could result in antibiotic-resistant bacteria that can be more harmful later. You can also include turmeric in their milk and other foods as it is known to be a natural immunity booster.

Your Takeaway

ensure that all of their vaccines are up to date. imagine how much good you can do to your child’s life by just pushing them towards healthy habits for only three days. Parents can also lead by example by making these small changes in their own lives and seeing how quickly their child adapts to them! WHAT ONE CAN LEARN FROM THE THINGS PRESET AROUND

HASTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ,DONDAICHA

A farmer had a dog who used to sit by the roadside waiting for vehicles to come around.

As soon as one came he would run down the road, barking and trying to overtake it.

One day a neighbor asked the farmer “Do you think your dog is ever going to catch a car?” The farmer replied, “That is not what bothers me. But  What bothers me is what he would do if he ever caught one.”

Moral of the Story

“Many people in life behave like that dog who is pursuing meaningless goals .”

“Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan. “~ Tom Landry

This is how we can learn , we can learn lot many things from  what is present  around us  ;  nature including  soil, water, sun , plants , animals and believe me one can learn from loving pets like cow , parrot ,etc and even from loving    puppy dog

Ask children to choose any object and ask them  to write what they think  could learned  from the object.

It would be great experience for children and they will learn many things.

For example If I write what I should learn from Dog or

I would learn from a Dog that

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face,to be pure ecstasy

When it’s in your best interest, practice obedience

Let others know when they’ve invaded your territory

Take naps and stretch before rising

Run romp and play daily

On warm days stop to lie on your back on the grass

On hot days drink lots of water and lay under a shady tree

When you’re happy dance around and wag your entire body

No matter how often you’re scolded, don’t buy into the guilt thing and pout, run right back and make friends*

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk

Eat with gusto and enthusiasm

Stop when you have had enough

Be loyal

Never pretend to be something you’re not

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it

When someone is having a bad day, be silent…sit close by and nuzzle them gently.

It would be unique technique to make children that every thing around us is teaching us some good and positive points
