BLOG NO 240
BACK DROP;
I still recollect the valuable suggestion of our honourable Chairman sri Kailas ‘Kantilalji Jain when he said All children in our Hasti school to receive free access to a musical instrument so that Children will get a chance to experience the sounds of instruments and have a chance to play variety of musical instruments we have and we may add new unique instruments like singing bowls, gongs, chimes, bells, etc.
Going one step ahead he said , musical instruments should be kept in corridor and let children play and touch musical instrument of their choice during the session.
Very honestly I could not comprehend his brilliant idea ,of what we call today a Sound bath, but now I understand its importance.0f his visionary suggestion . Unfortunately, I failed to implement the same in its true sense.
I strongly recommend additional sound baths and mindfulness sessions once-off or weekly programs with sound relaxation and mindfulness for our primary and secondary schools.
The duration of the session can be tailored to the needs and abilities of children. *The minimum session recommended for the sound bath is 30 min, maximum time is 50 min.
Let us dive deep in to this idea of sound bath
sound bath is a full-body meditative experience where children lie down and listen to resonant sounds .( it could be arranged for teachers as well) It often involves singing bowls, which create an echoing sound that ‘bathes’ participants *. We refer this sound bathing as a *healing practice.
The Sound Bath sometimes also called Meditative Concert or Bath of Gong, is one of the most effective and fast forms of meditation: its strength lies in the fact that no physical or mental effort is required, you do absolutely nothing.
You receive it lying on a comfortable mat in a comfortable room, or even outdoors, usually this activity is carried out in a group, but can also be done individually or in pairs.
The goal is to reach the void in the mind, to stop the thoughts, even for a few moments, but enough to regenerate, giving us lightness and relief.
It is called “Bath” because it is completely surrounded by the Sound, a sound that at certain times, especially during the central part of the practice where the main instrument is played, the Gong, can give the feeling of being suspended in the void, as in space, or as lightness as when you float on the sea.
The Sound and Vibration of the instruments, which were already used thousands of years ago by shamans of various populations in Rituals of Evolutionary Transformation and Sacred Ceremonials, act on our body through the law of resonance through the movement in the air, comes on our body, physical and emotional, a real vibratory wave, which travels to “massage” and to give a “rebalancing” where needed.
You can ride the Alpha and Theta waves, until deep states of relaxation, enter visualizations and have perceptions of alteration of space and time.
There are three sound phases:
the first, introductory, that accompanies, helps to turn off the mind
the most cathartic central part, call it the search for emptiness
the third, the return, with sounds that lead to rooting
They are all sounds that reproduce the effects of Nature, Sounds of the Elements, and some that contain the sound of the OM, as well as the sound of the creation, other instruments tuned to the special frequency 432hz
There are numerous benefits of sound and mindfulness, Arts and Crafts, Sound Relaxation, Storytelling, Games, Fun with brain science etc and these could be introduced in the curriculum skilfully.

• To enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of the children
• Let us *try the sound bath sessions initially for Pre primary and primary classes once in a fortnight once in a month for our educators.
Finally Sound is everywhere, all the time. It sets the tone for our mood each day, much like a backing track to a film. This is because everything has a vibrational frequency, including ourselves. When we practice sound healing, we use these tonal frequencies to re-balance our bodies and minds.
Sound baths are a powerful healing modality because sound travels extremely well through liquid, and the human body is made up of 60-70% water. “the various sounds which hold healing frequencies, vibrations and energies start to move through the water within us, helping to liberate any energy which is stuck*.”
For the wellbeing of our children sound bath will play vital role in the days to come . This would be one more step close to make our school a *Pivoting school
Please feel free to give your suggestions, remarks , & commendation for making sound bath more realistic , effective and purposeful for the benefit of our children .
