BLOG NO 163 It’s a matter of great happiness that Our Hasti school is awarded as the BEST FUTURISTIC SCHOOL IN INDIA & is included in top 50 schools of our country by Edu mirror the international magazine this year on 9th of Oct’ 2022 .This was, undoubtedly , only *because of our visionary chairman Sri Kailas Kantilalji Jain who is the fountain of the innovative ideas and source of inspiration for us. Our school humbly proclaims that
We do not only prepare children for future but WE PREPARE FUTURE FOR our CHILDREN
Our chairman sir insists on a structural learning and *emphasizes on learning of basic skills of 21century and arts which are more or equally important for the holistic growth of a child* . We do not give much importance to the marks and just think how much of what we learnt we are using in our current profession or business. Instead we are successful in our field because of the skills we have mastered. We do not choose doctor or lawyer on the basis of marks only .
So in Pre- primary section in particular instead of giving load of heavy homework on different subject it is more useful if we make children learn age proportionate basic manners , etiquettes and skills that is structural learning*
To make my point of view more explicit , please allow me to share the following
few years ago in England, the pregnant mother of a three-and-a-half-year-old girl fell down the stairs and fainted in front of her.
Without a moment’s delay, this three-year-old boy called the ambulance and his phone not only saved the life of the mother but also the child
.
After calling the ambulance, the girl spoke to them for several minutes and before she could finish her speaking, the ambulance was already at the door. Even in the world’s most congested city, London, an ambulance arrives an average of eight minutes after an accident.
This incident and courage of this girl was praised all over Britain and because of this phone call, the British government made many reforms in its education system.
The question is not how the girl was able to talk to the ambulance operator,
the question is how did the little girl know to call an ambulance when her mother collapsed ?
*Where from and how did she get the ambulance number?
The answer to this question is hidden in the homework…!!!
The three year olds are neither taught ABCD nor given the burden of studies. On the contrary, these young creatures are taught many things of daily life like how to talk to adults, how to follow the rules of signs when crossing the road , how to wear seatbelt while sitting in car , how to keep their room clean , Don’t speak lie And every day parents are told what children are being taught in school.
This is not only told but it is encouraged to discuss while having dinner together at home in the evening so that the children remember well what was taught in school
And this is the homework of these children. Not only this , but school also organize and demonstrates the usefulness of plumbers, electricians, cleaners or garbage collectors, doctors in hospitals, ambulances , fire brigades, even people working in garages in our daily lives
On certain days of the year these people are invited to the school and performed in front of the children.
One such day, there was an ambulance demonstration in this girls’ school, and the children discussed what was taught and shown in the class that day with their parents during dinner with their parents*.
And by remembering that homework, the girl saved the life of her mother and her unborn child.
It was discussed throughout Britain and the British government further reformed its education system to make it more practical and observational.
school plans to invite garage mechanics to farmers and their animals to helicopter ambulance doctors to give them practical education and have their homework confirmed by parents over dinner.
Should it not be done ?
For the last two decades, we have been talking about reducing the burden on the back.
But what about the burden on this child’s mind ?
*Does the school only burden these children with notebooks and homework?
Aren’t parents also responsible for this*?
For my child to go to school he should be able to read and write numbers, kids should know abcd, learn all sports,Why is there all this speculation that he should come to sing some song and play some instrument in the future?
when the age at which children should play in the dirt, climb trees, swim in the river, do fun school activities we insist and , asking them to participate in plays. also learn harmonium, guitar, tabla classes, forcing him to take math and English classes .
schools everywhere are seen throwing new projects at those young souls. Today environment, tomorrow, painting, the day after tomorrow computer, new projects are being injected into the child’s mind.at our Hasti school we give freedom to children to learn the skill of their choice and arranges cases only on Sunday for one hour
Parents and teachers do not understand why that young soul is suffering.
A seven-year-old child leaves home at seven in the morning and comes home at seven in the night .
Tired of body and mind, that soul goes to sleep again worrying about the burden of household chores and getting up early in the morning.
Why is our homework always difficult English and complicated maths ?
Do these two subjects teach everything in life Where children in Europe-America are good at maths ? * where children in Japan-Germany can speak English* ? , where all children in Africa know computer coding by the age of ten or twelve* .
Are competitions required?
So why is there speculation that our own children should get it all at an early age?
Why is homework always writing and robbing?
Why shouldn’t he discuss it with his parents and grandparents?
Why does the headmaster of the school get upset when four children of a class get less marks in the examination?
Why do they call the parents and complain about the children?
Why do schools think that the children in my school should be ahead of other schools in all subjects, in all sports, in all extra-curricular activities? And because of this insistence, homework is imposed on the children.
Today’s self-educated parents are as much responsible for this as the schools.
This crime of homework is being done on children every day with the connivance of the school and the parents.
Parents get upset if homework is not given for a day, they ask ten people around them to make sure there is no homework today.
We are experimenting with the school curriculum, coming up with new policies, but what about the competition?
Do these kids really need this competition at such a young age?
The insistence of parents that my children play in all subjects, sports in all arts, and the school’s over-ambitious ambition that our schoolchildren be successful in all fields are pushing these young children into a deadly competition.
It’s not too late to make basic non-competitive corrections, or, in the future, the unfortunate mother of a four-and-a-half-year-old who only saw pictures of ambulances on the pages of a book and sat home on a laptop doing coding homework on a shiny floor. But may not be able to save the life after tripping.Therefore at our HASTI FUTURISTIC SCHOOL WE have structural learning and plans to organize Sunday workshops for children to learn basic the plans on the cards will soon be implemented if parents respond positively
