STUDENT’S WELLBEING*

*At our Hasti school the objectives of  *academic excellence* and *personality development* of children *is achieved through student’s wellbeing*.

*The intent of students wellbeing is accomplished* by giving exposure to the children to variety of activities. *Our Hasti school strongly believes* that *Students wellbeing underpins every aspect of a student’s schooling*, including their learning, engagement and social relationships. *Educators* of our Hasti school  now *understand that wellbeing is a fundamental component of the school experience and is just as important as academic achievement*.

Student *wellbeing can be broadly defined as a student’s overall development and quality of life*. *Wellbeing* is a holistic term that encompasses all aspects of a *student’s life, including their physical, social, mental and emotional state*.

A student’s wellbeing can change from day to day, month to month and year to year. *It is affected by changes happening inside their bodies and in the world around them*.

Wellbeing does not mean students feel good all the time. Emotions such as sadness, fear, anger and frustration are all normal human experiences, and actually help them to learn, grow, stay safe and build meaningful connections with others. *Wellbeing means they have the capacity, skills and resources to cope with these emotions in a way that is positive and constructive for their development*.

*We at our Hast school  make sincere efforts to make *children learn and develop important skill  namely

*RESILIENCE* the ability to cope with lifes ups and down and bounce back after difficult experience.

*SEL* Social and emotional learning  is now widely accepted as a key component of every student’s education. *It involves the acquisition of skills students need to develop positive wellbeing, resilience and mental health*.

*Social and emotional learning helps students to notice, interpret and manage their own emotions, and have empathy for the emotions of others*, so they can make responsible decisions, solve problems, cope with challenges, and build positive relationships.

*Mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and substance misuse can have a devastating effect on children*, young people and their communities. *If not addressed early, they can impact on a person’s ability to work, socialise and function throughout their life*.

national survey found that *1 in 7 children and adolescents aged 4 to 17 years were experiencing mental health issues*.

*Prevention and early intervention approaches are more effective and less expensive* than intervening later in life, and are key to enhancing mental health across the lifespan.

Schools play an important role in the prevention and early detection of mental health conditions,

*we educators ,parents and all  would agree that the education system should contribute to the development of the ‘whole child* ’.

*Our Hasti School is not just places for academic learning – it is  place where students can develop vital social, emotional and cognitive skills that will help them function in an ever-changing world*.

*A student’s social and emotional wellbeing* not only influences their learning, but should also be considered *an educational goal in and of itself*.

students who participated in SEL programs demonstrated significantly *improved social and emotional skills, attitudes and behaviour, and academic performance*  that  is *reflected in our school academic results of public examinations*

for well beings of our students we focus on

1. LEADERSHIP

*School principals and school leaders  take active steps to create positive learning environments* in which students feel safe, respected, connected and included. This includes creating whole-school policies to enhance the wellbeing of students, families and staff.

2.INCLUSION

*All school staff play a role in creating a school culture that celebrates diversity and promotes respectful, positive relationships*. That includes promoting cultural safety, engaging in regular professional learning and ensuring all members of the school community feel that they belong.

3. STUDENT VOICE

*Students should play an active part in decisions that affect their learning and wellbeing*. Schools have a responsibility to create inclusive, collaborative and interactive learning environments, and take a strengths-based approach to learning. *Active participation also involves teaching students social and emotional skills*, so they have the capacity and agency to stay safe and resilient, and seek help from trusted adults when needed. The *system of student council ,  Head boy Head girl , house captains , prefect and vice prefect ,debate and brain storming and students seminars make children play an active part in decisions at our HASTI SCHOOL*.

4. PARTNERSHIPS

*Hasti School  collaborates with families and communities as partners to enhance the learning and wellbeing of all students*. This includes developing a shared understanding of what students need, and working collaboratively with community organisations, services and agencies. It also involves *fostering an environment of cultural safety. The PTA , different clubs* at school , namely Ramanujan club, science club, leisure activity club etc, .*brings in effective and purposeful partnership*.

*Positive relationships are key to student wellbeing*. When students feel connected to their peers, teachers and other school staff, they will feel more valued and engaged with their learning, and will be more likely to maintain social and emotional wellbeing. Prima

“*when students feel that they are a part of a school community, they are more likely to perform better academically and are more motivated to learn* ”.

Therefore at our *Hasti school* due importance is given to sports.  *we have advanced and well equipped sports complex* spanning in 4.5 acres of land*  with standardised cours and coaches for sports like *snooker, squash,T.T, Basket ball ,lawn tennis, Archery ,fencing and martial arts*.   Various other CCA and ECA help to identify students who are most at risk of social exclusion and provide them with the resources and skills they need *to build positive connections in their school community*.

Parents need to cooperate with school in attempt to see to the students wellbeing.
